Liberty Activists and Statists Call WKBK’s Talkback 2009-02-07

Radio TowerLiberty activists called WKBK’s Talkback this morning and discussed cutting government, market policing, the violence of the state, so-called disorderly houses, and more. Listen as host and city councilor Paula-Ayn Phillips claims that government aggression isn’t violence! Plus, this week’s featured statist callers claim Free Staters shouldn’t be allowed to call Talkback, challenged activists to do mass civil disobedience, and expressed great frustration at our phone call volume compared to that of the “progressives”.

If you are awake on Saturday mornings, we could really use your help! Please join us in calling the program with a pro-liberty viewpoint. Get details on when and how and discuss with other activists on this Free Keene forum thread.

Shame On You, Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps in a body speedoShame on you, Olympic Gold Medal winner Michael Phelps. As a role model looked up to by millions, your public actions have the potential to influence our culture in a positive or a negative way. You chose the latter. Edmund Burke said “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” You were confronted with evil and you allowed it to conquer you.

Imprisoned Over a Hat

Two of my friends were arrested yesterday. One was arrested for refusing to comply with a rule to remove his hat. The other was arrested for asking questions about the rule. They both failed The Slave Test.

I’m already anticipating the apoligists for the tyrants, those who will defend the violent enforcement of this arguably trivial matter. It’s silly, right? I ask, which is sillier? Refusing to obey a rule about trivial items of clothing on your own body or putting someone in a cell for said trivial item of personal clothing? When the judge asked for Jesse’s specific religious reason, he said he refused on moral grounds and that morality and religion are one and the same to him.

The Slave Test

Are you a slave? Recently I wrote about how governments manufacture and evoke powerful symbols to essentially brainwash us and keep us obedient. I used an analogy of similar tactics in the past to efficiently maintain the obedience of household slaves. I have a friend who claims my language is far too strong. He says I overuse words like “violence” and “slave” to artificially infuse my arguments with emotion when I’m talking about governments. They can take the slave test!

Statist Calls out Liberty Activists on WKBK’s “Talkback” – 1/24 & 1/31 Double Archive

Radio TowerLiberty activists called WKBK’s Talkback the past two Saturdays and discussed education, development, the city prosecutor’s aggression against Freedom Fest organizer Mike Barskey, and public areas. Listen as host and city councilor Cynthia actually claims that local laws trump the constitution! Plus, this week’s featured statist caller claims all Free Staters are violent because one of them made a mistake in his past.

The statist also makes an observation that liberty-oriented callers to the show have dropped off, and he’s right. Over the past two weeks, only OTN’s Sam and I have called. The unfortunate fact is, the authoritarians are still the bulk of call load on this show. If you are awake on Saturday mornings, we could really use your help! Please join us in calling the program with a pro-liberty viewpoint. Get details on when and how and discuss with other activists on this Free Keene forum thread.

Seize the White Knob

Do not touch under penalty of a severe lashing!

Do not touch under penalty of a severe lashing!

I had a guest over in my house in Keene, New Hampshire this weekend. He saw an old black doorknob on the basement door and asked me if many of our old doorknobs had been replaced. When I expressed my curiosity, he explained that some older houses had a mix of pitch black and pearly white doorknobs and that slaves were allowed to touch the black ones but not the white ones.
