Please Support HB 1474 – “Right To Work” For Lawyers!

Under current law, attorneys must be members of the N.H. Bar Association, which requires them to serve the court first before a client or the law, which is a conflict of interest. HB 1474 would allow attorneys to opt-out of their membership in the BAR, and thus serve their clients and justice without regard for the requirements of the BAR or the Court system. Such a change would likely improve the BAR, as it would have to make changes to keep and attract attorneys as members.

Please e-mail HouseRepublicans@leg.state.nh.us and ask House Republicans to support the committee’s OTP recommendation on HB 1474.

Obama Administration Conditionally Acknowledges Extrajudicial Killings

From freeconcord.org:

Eric Holder’s memory wasn’t failing him today as he spoke at Northwestern University in Chicago. They were likely running through his mind, but there were three names Holder dared not to speak. They were Samir Khan, Abdulrahman Al-Awlaki, and Anwar Al-Awlaki. They are the three US citizens who have been executed by drone missile attacks in Yemen, without so much as the order of a judge to show as a warrant for their death.

The ‘Attorney General’ (military ranking being fully apropos) gave a carefully crafted response to the legal questions the administration has been facing since the September 30 killing of Anwar Al-Awlaki. Holder essentially declared the president to be within his authority (for who is there to challenge it?) to order the killing of anyone deemed an external threat to the defense of the United States. A search of the internet reveals no video of the address. The Washington Post provides some fairly in-depth coverage. Here’s a disturbing snippet from the lawyer-in-chief.

Some have argued that the president is required to get permission from a federal court before taking action against a United States citizen who is a senior operational leader of al-Qaeda or associated forces. This is simply not accurate.

“STOP Judicial Child Abuse in New Hampshire Family Courts” Blog Publishes About Judge Burke Controversy

STOP Judicial Child Abuse in New Hampshire Family Courts is a popular legal blog for tracking abuses of all things domestic relations law related in the New Hampshire Judicial Branch’s Family Court Division.  I’m honored to say that I’ve been invited to guest blog at their site about abuses I witnessed in the area of domestic relations law while working as a law enforcement officer.

I cannot imagine one New Hampshire law enforcement officer who has not had to serve some court order that they knew just defies logic as it pertains to a specific family situation.  Kicking people out of their own home is not a pleasant thing to have to do for work…  especially when you know the court is wrong.  Police officers know far better what the situation is within a family with problems than the court ever will, yet those same officers are often completely unaware of hearings which result in lives literally being destroyed.

Today the blog published an article informing the New Hampshire legal community of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch abuses of Adam Muller and Jason Talley.

LENCO Proves Why IP Is Harmful

Can an individual claim an exclusive monopoly to a word, phrase or idea, which then denotes the right to seek damages from those who happen to utter sounds in a particular order?

What about a corporation? Can an entity that comes into existence when a group of people put some words on paper all of a sudden have rights? How can a legal fiction be wronged? How exactly would something that exists only on paper be made whole?

Actual picture from LENCO's site

Individuals employed at LENCO, the MA-based manufacturer of the BEARCAT – an $300,000, 8-ton armored vehicle being peddled to police departments in large and small towns alike thanks to Dept. of Homeland Security grants and mindless scare tactic rhetoric – a few weeks ago pulled their promo video of the vehicle after pushback from many Keene, NH, population 23,000, who were rightly concerned about their local police acquiring such hardware. (watch video in full below)

The video in question shows the BEARCAT engaged in SWAT/paramalitary exercises set to AC/DC. Badass, right?! The video is the epitome of the post-9/11 world according to those in government* who grow their claimed authority thanks to real or claimed emergencies. (more…)
