Dr. David Berman Confronts the Merry Men

T’was two days ago when the Merry Men, which at the time consisted of myself and Keene native Graham, were approached by a mysterious individual wielding a phone as a videocamera. Though he declines to introduce himself, he was prompt in uploading his video to his youtube channel, Dr David Berman/MusicProDave.

Discussion of the cell phone video occupied a good portion of last evening’s episode of Free Talk Live. For a confrontational encounter, I feel surprisingly relieved of responsibility to add much commentary to accompany what was digitally captured. Mr. Berman’s video, my own raw video, and the raw footage from Graham’s flipcam speak for themselves. The best illustration I have found thus far of the experience was uploaded by the Aqua Keene Parking Force, using all three angles and adding some additional videography skills into the mix.

An article about David’s video was published yesterday to Free Keene.

Local Pastor Warns Flock of Tyranny Yet Defends Keene’s Parking Tyrants

Rev. David BermanRev. David Berman of the Christian Life Fellowship church in Swanzey was on Main St. in Keene yesterday where he spotted Robin Hood’s Merry Men saving people from parking tickets.

Despite allegedly being “Christian”, meaning one who is supposed to emulate Christ, Berman proceeds to hurl insults at the heroic Merry Men. Idiots, jerks, knuckleheads – are the terms Berman used to describe the productive, intelligent young men. Here’s the video, from Berman’s perspective:

The Merry Men could have made a better defense of their craft. They could have said, “We make money from people who are happy with our services – what do pastors do?”

Nonetheless, Berman makes it clear that he doesn’t really understand Jesus’ teachings about loving one’s enemy or being of peace. (more…)

Talkback Tackles Robin Hooding

redlobster_robinhoodofkeeneWKBK Keene’s Talk Back hosted by Cynthia Georgina and featuring guest host councilor Jim Duffy discussed the recent uptick in the practice of Robin Hooding in the area. Illustrated in the following video is the first two minutes of the segment. A full sixteen minutes was spent on the subject with three callers phoning in their perspective. You can hear all sixteen minutes in a video at Fr33manTVraw (embedded below text).

CG: And, what’s going on with people plugging the meters for other people, have you heard about that?

JD: Oh, yes, I’ve seen it’s back. It was going on a while ago. Robin Hood, they call themselves the Robin Hoods, and what they do is, if they see an expired meter, they’ll plug it, and according to the videos they’ve posted, either with nickels or quarters. A nickel only gets you six minutes, so you know, you still might get a ticket if you’re depending on Robin Hood, if they’re only putting nickels…

CG: And, so what is the purpose of this?
