I’ve just heard from college activist friends that Ron Paul will be speaking at Keene State College next Monday evening (the 21st), at 4:30 in the Lantern Room Mabel Brown Room of the LP Young Student Center.
This is also the perfect opportunity for Manchesterites to visit Keene to negotiate the terms of their surrender. (Government officials involved in the war on drugs are likewise invited to surrender.)
Plus, LGBT activist Charlene Strong will be speaking at Keene’s United Church of Christ Keene State College this Friday at 6pm.
It has been over a year since liberty activists in Manchester launched FreeManch.com, and finally it looks like there is some life being blown into their site. Granted, it’s in response to Will May’s incisive piece posted here to FK, but at least they finally got the ball rolling.
Of course, they seemed to have the ball rolling a year ago before the site died.
For his first post, Manch’s Sovereign Curtis attacks Keene’s civil disobedience and cites the Manchester chalking arrests as an example of Manch’s superior civil disobedience scene. Of course he neglects to mention that the chalking event and the CopBlock event that he cites were started by Keeniacs Pete and Ademo of Liberty on Tour, on their visit to Manchester. Oops!
Rather than acknowledge those trail-blazing Keeniacs who have been doing civil disobedience and noncooperation for years, like Lauren Canario, the Trespassive Twelve, and Disobedient Seven, Curtis suggests Keene activists are a bunch of drunks. (more…)
The Shire Choir dropped by the monopoly liquor store today, sang several carols out front and distributed 50 fliers to store patrons in a successful outreach event. There was chalking of the sidewalk and street with anti-drug-war and pro-freedom messages, jubilant singing, and a good time had by all! There were cameras present, so be on the lookout for video of the event, which will likely be posted here at some point. As we were leaving, Keene Police arrived and accepted a copy of the freedom carols. We’re putting the finishing touches on the song sheet and will post it here when ready.
I talked to a few Manchesterites last week who are working to relaunch the Free Manch blog, which has been abandoned for a long time. I’m excited, and I want them to be successful. So, to help motivate people to make this happen, here are 4 good reasons that every liberty activist in Manchester should want a well-maintained blog:
1) Attracting new movers.
The Free Keene blog has attracted all sorts of liberty activists to New Hampshire. (Myself, for example!) It does an excellent job of showcasing local activism, and gives liberty-lovers elsewhere a taste of New Hampshire. In my judgment, this is the biggest reason that Keene is a hub of libertarian activism, rather than just another small NH city.
From what I’ve heard, there’s plenty of activism in Manchester– but it doesn’t seem that way to the rest of us, because there’s no good blog to present it. How many more people would move if they were aware of Manchester’s activism? (more…)

It has been several months since I contributed to the Free Keene blog regarding my transition to liberty or my opinions about stuff that is happening in the government world. In fact, my second to last post here was about how I, for the first time in 30 years crawling this planet, got arrested. I was arrested at the US/Mexico border in Nogales, AZ by United States Customs and Border Protection for exercising the 5th Amendment.
Well, I finally got my “arrest report” from the feds (after 4-5 months of notarizing forms, mailing things back and forth, and begging) and it sure looks like they let me off easy for the pure evil I unleashed at the border station. It looks like I misled you in my July blog in that that I failed to mention that I, according to the federal officer who arrested me, murdered one of their co-workers.
Among the two things I “could have been arrested” for were 18 USC 111 and 18 USC 1114. That would be forcibly impeding and murdering a federal officer. Now verbal warnings are given out every day for things like speeding and rolling through a stop sign… but I never imagined I’d get a verbal warning for violating a law that I could get the federal death penalty for. I went straight from never having been arrested or convicted of anything to the lethal injection.
Here’s the report. It is so ridiculous, I believe it deserved its own meme.
