Revoking my Libertarian Party “Life Membership”, a.k.a. Politics Sucks!

The Libertarian Party (LP) had, after the late, great Harry Browne’s campaigns, been falling further and further from it’s original principles. In the early portion of this decade, when the LP removed from the party platform their calls for the abolishment of the CIA and FBI, I wrote their newspaper to say I’d not send them another dime of money until they got back to their founding principle: the non-initiation of force.

As I drifted away from the LP and politics and toward market-based action, I paid less and less attention to the LP. I even said on the air recently on “Free Talk Live“, my talk show, that the only reason I was still a member is because I bought a life membership and it hadn’t been worth my while to cancel it. Six New Bloggers / New Motto

Filed under: Introduction — Ian at 1:49 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Here at Free Keene we’re constantly on the lookout for new Keene-area, liberty minded personalities who want to share their thoughts or their media. To that end, I’m proud to welcome six new bloggers to Free Keene! See more about them below or just jump over to the bloggers page.

Also, you might’ve noticed the new motto in the header graphic, “Nonviolent Evolution”. The next great step for mankind is the step toward the voluntary society. We are going to accomplish this using nonviolent, market-based actions. This is not a revolution. We are not revolving, or going back to the beginning. This is evolution. We are on the leading edge of thought, creating new ideas and wealth that have never existed before. Free Keene allows you to tap into the epicenter of the Nonviolent Evolution, from wherever you are, to see it all unfold. Better still, you are encouraged to educate yourself about liberty and the voluntary society via our free audio book, “The Market for Liberty” and then encouraged to move to Keene, withdraw from the old coercive society, and join the voluntary society.

Welcome to our new bloggers, Nick, Tim, David, Eric, Menno, and James! Here are their pics and bios: (Read on …)

Gambling Now Legal in NH!

Filed under: Activism, Freedom Fest, News, Personal Freedom — Ian at 10:12 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2008

Know when to hold 'emOkay, that might not be entirely true but liberty activists did gamble for money in public today and no one was arrested! (Cops were standing nearby!) In addition, we did some pro-liberty outreach to the good people of Keene. Big thanks to The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, NH Coalition for Common Sense, the Alternatives Expo, The New Hampshire Free Press, and everyone else who came out to attend the event!

See pictures from the event courtesy of Kat Kanning, of the New Hampshire Free Press on this discussion thread. Others may post their pictures here later as well.

Stay tuned to FreeKeene.com for more great blogs, video, audio, and an announcement about the upcoming Summer 2008 Freedom Fest!
