Peaceful Evolution

To My Captors

Filed under: Issues, Personal Freedom, Police — Ian at 3:47 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2008

I spent the entirety of last weekend in the Cheshire County jail. I want to thank the Sheriffs who cuffed and transferred me as well as the Corrections Officers in the jail for their professionalism and courtesy. I made it clear that I did not intend to resist and you made it clear that you did not want to hurt me. I respect you for the level of humanity you treated me with, considering the system itself is inhumane. There may be a few bad guys among you, but I could not identify them during my brief stay. Also special thanks to Lieutenant Kevin Clark for allowing me a personal phone call when the in-cell phone wouldn’t work with my girlfriend’s cell phone.

Unfortunately, while I’m sure you all do your best to do your job as instructed so you can keep food on your family’s table, you should know that what you are doing as part of your job is wrong. Many of you already know this. In fact, the superintendent of the jail, Richard Van Wickler, is a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. As you know, the jail is full of people who have not done harm to another human being. I refer of course to “consensual criminals”, like drug users. This appears to be the main reason another jail is being built – you’ve run out of room to hold your political prisoners!

Don’t you wish you were only incarcerating real criminals? You know, people who actually hurt others or damaged property? I understand that quitting your job may make you feel better, but then you may be replaced by someone less humane than you, so I’m not certain that is the solution. Obviously you’ll be fired (whether you’re the superintendent or a CO) for doing the right thing and turning loose all your peaceful prisoners. Perhaps you can start by joining with your superintendent and becoming a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition.

What else can COs who object to being a part of incarcerating peaceful people do to protest? Please post your ideas here in the comments.

A society that puts an individual in jail for something like this can hardly call itself civilized. It is time for those who operate the system to denounce it for what it is. WRONG. If a judge is going to do something that is pure EVIL then it is WRONG for the enforcement agents to just go along with his order.

Allow video cameras in the jail.

This is John Galt speaking:

The cool thing about where the “Freedom Couch” was sitting is that it can be a rallying place for freedom (so keep in mind, not just birdwatching as it once was, I’ve heard). It probably will be easy to locate because of dead grass, dirt, or whatever underneath.

I’ve even come up with a name for a bench, suitable for outdoor use even by Keene’s stupid laws. A big boost for Liberty would be to place the bench in the exact spot where the old couch sat. The letters K.M.A.G. (or K-MAG if you like) could be painted on the bench. The letter “K” stands for “kiss”, the “G” is for “government”. I’m sure you can figure out the other two letters in the middle and what they stand for.

Of course Ian would have to be okay with a part of his property being used for such a thing in the first place. If so, then because Ian is also a very intelligent man and would likely realize the benefit of Keene having it’s own “Liberty Bell”. A flag of true freedom that flies in the face of busybodies, cops, judges, and other riff-raff.

A permanent artifact in his yard that the powers-that-only-they-think-be can do nothing about except cry.

“K-MAG Bench”, nice eh? I’ll bet that the more you bounce that around in your head, the more you’ll like it.

With Liberty,

John Galt

P.S. If Ian isn’t okay with a bench being put on his property, I’ve got a backup plan that a lot of Free-Staters are still going to love and make many good people there happy. You are free to contact me by email if you want to know more. zenger(at)rock.com

And law enforcement guys who worry about losing their jobs can join LEAP anonymously. We don’t “out” people. If they want to join but are concerned with their exposure, there’s no problem. At some pt, everyone will be able to be public.

CO’s can network with anyone who will listen. If they know the facts and have the details on how much the drug war is costing, they can spread the word.Visit http://www.leap.cc for many links which have all the ammunition one would need for spreading the word.

I honestly think that the moment that it will take the human beings of the nation to understand the process of Law and exercise their duty of due diligence as a citizen.

The only reason policy-enforcers (polic-e) have to enact these inhumane crimes is because the process allows much remedy for any injustices every step of the way. We are, however, conditioned from the days of youth to believe that there is an authority outside of ourselves. There is none. Not one person in law has taken your human authority either, because you unwittingly give it away.

These peace officers want to be appreciated for their work, risking their lives and so on. Unfortunately, their duties of policy enforcement create an inroad. People need to understand that we are not speaking English when talking to police, we are speaking Law. Whenever you hand over gov’t ID, as per their training and habits, you are consenting to hand over authority. Every Single Time. What’s worse is that people think it’s for their own good. Don’t ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, hand over ID when you are not engaged in commerce or business. This includes any form of travel, recreation, spot checks for any reason. If you are not profiting from your actions and the police tell you that you have to show them ID. Don’t. They are not telling the truth.

It is this action that gives them power over you, and nothing more. Producing ID to a policy enforcer for the nation is no different than you showing ID to a policy enforcer for Walmart. If you show you’re a part of their corporation and you’re doing something against their rules, they have every right, as well as a duty, to nail you for it.

Question the authority and laws used to get you to produce ID and try not to question the integrity of the officers. If they start stating statutes and acts, question the definition of an Act. These pieces of legislation do NOT effect human beings. They only effect members of the Law Society. (Bar card holders: Lawyers, judges, baliffs, police officers (but not peace officers, very important) in short: all gov’t officials and employees)

These officers want people to be able to think for themselves. They are merely acting as a nanny because you willingly provide information that does nothing more than assert your status as a child beholden to them. Once more people learn their own power and don’t allow officers to nanny them, using their language, you will empower them to be peace officers again which should be their true purpose.

Funny thing is that were the couch a bench or some other piece of outdoor “furniture” there would not have been a problem. A couch is not meant to remain outside for months at a time and the problem is it deteriorates thus turning into garbage.

I think Ian and Mikaela would have no problem with a nice decorative bench in the front yard.

“To my captors”

Goodness, the narcissism, the grandiosity! What bitter torment hath our noble savior endured during his endless, excruciating stay in a minimum security prison! What slings and arrows hath he suffered at the hands of an officialdom made corrupt by all that is that is wrong-thinking, savage and venal! SUCH a hero.

W-W-Wait a minute; you mean he caved in after three days? Three Days? THREE DAYS?

So much for principles. But they sure do sound convincing when you mouth them. Isn’t that all that matters?

He’s got more street cred than you do at this point. How long were YOU in for? And what was the charge, public douchery?

Zeus,

When confronted with such literary eloquence as yours, one is easily tempted to simply sit back in awe. Yet once the aesthetic intoxication begins to lapse, it occurs that your mode of expression is quite common among the many arrested adolescents who form the metaphorical backbone of this site. Particularly when a situation arises that reveals the extent to which you and your academically-unaccomplished peers are truly full of shit.

Your talk-show Jesus bleats on constantly about how we must be willing to pay the price true liberty demands. The history books are replete with examples of such sacrifice; in that context, 93 days in a county jail would be mild. And yet after all that brave, vain talk, it only took three days for him to knuckle under and actually apologize to a judge whose authority he had previously said he didn’t recognize? Gosh, Zeus, what can that mean? Is your deity nothing more than a pile of words? And if He’s an empty suit, what does that say about you, and your own commitment to the cause? Is it possible that you’re “all talk” too?

Let’s face it, the question on the table isn’t how many days in jail those of us who would’ve complied with a city ordinance regarding an old couch could have withstood. The question is: if you’re going to talk the talk, shouldn’t you walk the walk? And if you don’t, what sort of credibility do you have left?

That’s OK Zeus; you can try calming your bruised feelings by spending an hour alphabetizing your collection of canned and dried foods.

Cheers,

Amazed

Zeus (now THAT’S an ironic-yet-revealing screen name in your case), the world stands awestruck in the face of your wit and originality. It’s really something (or at least you seem to think so). All you’ve got, I guess. Anyway, since you’re linguistically-compromised, here are some handy mnemonics to help you during those many hours spent organizing your survivalist gear:

A is for “Addled”
B is for “Boeotian”
C is for “Commiserable”
D is for “Ditz”
F is for ……..

Goodness, the narcissism, the grandiosity! When confronted with such self-aggrandizing pretentiousness as yours, one is easily tempted to simply join the ego-stroking lovefest!

Come now and let us inflate our dainty little heads with witty and original phrases like “literary eloquence”, “aesthetic intoxication” and “linguistically-compromised” from the Book of Webster.

After that we shall have tea and crumpets before visiting “the bad side of town” where we shall berate the academically-unaccomplished peasants by showing them our GPAs… written on our derrieres! Oh what a lovely time we shall have lambasting the wretches of society! The very thought makes want to giggle like a schoolgirl!

My Dear Egostroker,

What a fantastic view into your psyche! The intellectual and class resentment, the illusion of being oppressed, the anger, the fetid whiff of homophobia! You are an absolute miracle of nature; somehow, you are able to get up every morning, even as you choke on the bile rising within that results from your sense of abject failure. Most people would just kill themselves.

In awe,

Oh don’t sell yourself short, Amazed! You’re a MUCH better stroker of ego than I! You’ve been stroking yours all over this website!

What a fantastic view into the vast depths of your intellectual narcissism! The smug superiority, the illusion of being clever, the angry, fetid whiff of self-love!

You are the pièce de résistance of the state indoctrination system; somehow, you are able to get up every morning and, discovering you have absolutely nothing better to do with your life, you scour the internet and make asinine posts espousing your intellectual greatness.

Most such people would either be too busy on Wall Street getting a handout from those who actually produce things with their minds and labor or yelling at subordinate peons in some temple of bureaucratic excess!

Bravissimo!

Ever the Dark Mirror of Truth reflecting back at you,

-AMAZING!

Amazedreader,

Everyone has an interest when they write to this site. You have me wondering what your interest is in these discussions. There must be a reason why you don’t (dys)function like the usual troll that gives up after a day or two. What gives?

Just what stake do you have in the current power structure, those fools with an overactive lust for control over others?

You a cop/fed/gov’t employee? Paid instigator or an informer desperately hoping to incite violent speech so that you may point the finger at freedom loving people?

Show some honesty and courage instead of sniping at Free-Staters from the shadows.

Perhaps it’s just that you have a very unhealthy level of strange adoration for the state that is 100% undeserving of yours or anyone else’s love. If so then maybe you are possibly the victim of an unrequited love towards it. The state has way too much contempt for you or anyone else to actually love you back.

I can think of absolutely nothing more undignified than an obsession like that. The joke’s been entirely on you all of this time. How about that?

With Liberty,

John Galt

Dear Ian,

You are a pathetic drama queen. “to my captors…” seriously, get a life. Ooh, ooh, the big bad state won’t let me keep a dirty couch on my lawn! What violence. And I didn’t have a chance to question the whole world at my trial. Again, get a life. Love it or leave it loser!

My Johnson is big, urs clearly isn’t!

I don’t check this site very often, but this conversation actually made me laugh a couple of times… I’m inclined to agree that the letter was over-dramatic, but “Public Douchery” (personally I prefer “douchebaggery”) does not even begin to describe those posts. Amazed, how many hours per day, on average, would you say you spend writing posts on internet forums? Good Lord, find something productive to do with your time.

PS: Ego, your first post absolutely cracked me up.

Earlier this Fall, here at Keene State College, (note: Sorry, all you anarchists, *THEY* call it “State”, ), Mr. Van Wickler gave an excellent powerpoint presentation about the “Drug Wars”, and L.E.A.P. Many students and interested members of the Public attended. As part of *ALL OUR* efforts for more peace, safety, & freedom, a new local Campus chapter of “SSDP”(Students for a Sensible Drug Policy) was formed. We are meeting Weds., Dec 3, at 9PM, in the Student Union. Interested members of the Public are welcome to attend. Look for the notice board at the foot of the stairs. ~thanks~.

Again, dept. of redundant corrections, again. In Post# 77071 above, I’m sorry for seeming to imply any causal link between Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, and the formation of a KSC chapter of Students for a Sensible Drug Policy. They are independent organizations, linked coincidentally in space & time only. Jumanjville/Keene is still the town I most love to hate, & most hate to love. Being literally born on Campus can do that to ya, doncha’ know???…Hey, it’s a nativity thing, alright???*grin*…~e~…
