Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Hope Chapel, a local church, was the victim of an appalling act of vandalism recently and the insurance payment fell far short of what’s needed to repair the damage. The church is having a volunteer effort this Saturday at 9am to repaint the church. Free Keene frequently has news about what we are against. This is a chance to show what we are for. We’re for peaceful coexistence in a pluralist society where people with all different points of view can work together voluntarily for common goals and seek peaceful resolution of their differences. Whether you yourself are a Christian shouldn’t matter. I’m not. This church is a peaceful voluntary organization and they didn’t deserve this. It’s times like this when we have an opportunity to pull together and get to know our neighbors.

We’re expecting anywhere from a dozen to several dozen volunteers on behalf of Free Keene and I’d like to encourage our readers to come assist if you can. There will be supplies and refreshments on hand but if you have any tools that you think might come in handy, feel free to bring them. We are also encouraging donations to help replenish the funds that the church is having to deplete on supplies.

Hope to see you there!

Is there a way those of us from out-of-state can donate?

This is very good if philanthropic activities become commonplace within the FreeKeene and FSP movement. Thank you for organizing this, I apologize for not being in the appropriate hemisphere =)

If I was in NH I would be helping out the church, Dale thank you for taking the initiative to organize this even tho we may not agree on politics but this crosses any differences we may have.

I left a message at the church a bit back to see where I could send a check, and haven’t heard back yet … if anyone knows, let me know. Thanks :)

I suppose I could just make it out to the church, and send it to the church address with a note, does anyone see any problems with that?

    to Sam Gibson,

why are Free Keene people fucked? For taking an opportunity to help some of our neighbors and show that the liberty movement isn’t all about making a ruckus, protesting and rattling the state?

I’m both an anarchist and an atheist. I would never vandalize a church, nor do I tolerate that behavior. Therefore, I am helping them restore their building to it’s former white sheen. If that makes me “fucked”, too bad.

I heard the Church people just tried to paint over the spray paint with regular wall paint. Heart it took them 5 coats, and still the spray paint shows through. Didn’t anybody tell them to use gray primer first? I posted that suggestion last week! C’mon, people, get with the program!
