Ahhh, how warm and fuzzy does it make you feel to know that the society you live in remains in the list of five countries worldwide that continue to mur-, execute people, for punishment and as a deterrent towards future execut-, murdering. Nothing like a parent spanking their child to teach them not to hit.
How even more warm and fuzzy would it make you to know that if the government people in the State of New Hampshire were to carry out the sentence of death on their lone African American death-row inmate (in a state comprised of %97+ white people)………. it would have to be by hanging. New Hampshire state law says:

Sentinel Reports on Police Exhausting their Resources Arresting the “Trespassive Twelve”
Thanks to the Keene Sentinel’s Phil Bantz for this story about how the KPD sent all their officers to the jail to arrest peaceful activists, all the while incidents were happening in Keene that they weren’t able to respond to. As expected, the comments are excoriating us for supporting NH Free Press publisher Russell Kanning. Kanning has been jailed for non-payment of child support, however according to a Ridley Report interview with Kat Kanning, Russell was sending what money he could to his ex-wife and she was apparently ok with that and was allowing him to interact with his kids. Unfortunately, the government people don’t care, since he wasn’t paying enough to satisfy THEM, they have locked him away indefinitely. Now how much will his kids receive?
Anyway, here’s the story from the Sentinel:
When a car collided with a college student walking in downtown Keene on Sunday evening, a Marlborough police detective had to investigate the incident while N.H. State Police troopers interviewed the victim.
On most evenings, Keene police officers would have handled the accident, which resulted in minor injuries. But they were busy processing a dozen people who were accused of trespassing at the new Cheshire County jail in Keene.
The arrestees – all were charged with trespassing and one was charged additionally with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – have ties to the Free State Project and one of its offshoot groups, Free Keene. Read more
If it is the law it needs to be enforced!
Oh wait.
Despite what some in positions of authority like to claim: no it doesn’t.
And clearly: no it ISN’T.
A WMUR-9 article that ran today is covering New Hampshire’s “Blue Laws” and the political will being established to repeal them. Lucky for us the state is considering removing the restriction on conducting business on a Sunday and the penalties it imposes.
The unenforced laws date to 1883 and limit business activity “except works of necessity and mercy” to repair mills and factories that couldn’t wait. The laws prohibit citizens from engaging in any play, game or sport.
Well I don’t know about you, but I am ready to surrender. I had a great time at Free Keene Fest last Sunday and it was all done in violation of the law.
State, strapped for cash, targets lone shelter for at-risk juvenile females… will ship them to lock-up instead.
Story here.
That’s right. No longer will young at-risk juvenile females be sent to a location where they can receive treatment, compassion, caring, and support…………. they will be shipped to New Hampshire’s prison for kids (part of the Juvenile Justice system).

(clearly, the above is a suitable location to ship a young female who is victim of family related sexual assault or other horrific abuse……)
I think the people in state, county, and local government make their intentions pretty clear when they need to cut funding for helping at-risk youth so they can continue to build multi-million dollar correctional facilities which primarily will be used to keep non-violent offenders behind bars.
Disgusting.
Arrested? Told you need to pay $40 to be released? That is simply not true.
For eleven years I took part in a scam that turns the Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution and Part I, Article 33 of the New Hampshire Constitution into a money making racket.
When you are arrested for a crime or offense which is punishable in the adult system, the police have generally three options regarding your release.
1) Release you on a hand summons. (A ticket, telling you when to appear in court.)
2) Release you without any charges.
3) Contact a “Bail Commissioner” who will decide what your bail will be.
The third option typically is what happens most and if you have been through it you are most likely $40+ poorer for the experience. The thing is this: you legally do not have to pay and they still need to release you. Any threat to not release you is just that. An empty threat. In fact, you would be quite lucky if they followed through with such a threat …

Welcome to our Newest Blogger, Brad Jardis!
Free Keene was founded back in late 2006 with the intention of being the go-to source for Keene-area liberty news, opinion, and activism. Over three years later, that has been accomplished, and more. Free Keene has become a movement with real-life positive impact for freedom in not just the Keene area, but Manchester, Nashua, and Concord. Within the past year, the site has taken the tagline, “New Hampshire’s Liberty Activist Destination”, but I wish there were more such destinations! Despite my gentle prodding over the years, no one has bothered to launch a similar area-centric blog to “compete” with Free Keene. There have been a couple started, but they haven’t really gone anywhere yet, so Free Keene will continue to fill-in the gaps by covering noteworthy activism happening in other places. Of course, the FK blog has been doing this for a while now, but to expand a bit, Free Keene welcomes our newest blogger, Brad Jardis. Brad is our second outside-Keene blogger and was given the opportunity to blog here because of his outstanding activism, and because FK is frankly the best place for NH liberty-blogs to be seen. Too bad FreeManch.com never materialized, cause now we’ve got him here at Free Keene! Here’s his bio from the Bloggers page: Read more
Dave Ridley Calls City Councilor About the “Trespassive Twelve”
Local city councilor Chuck Redfern has a nice conversation with Dave Ridley about the mass arrests at the jail:

Photos of Jail Trespassery
Pictures of yesterday’s jail demonstration and “trespass” are now online, thanks to Puke.
You’ll find lots of great pictures, including one of liberty activists out front of the area of the jail where Russell Kanning was found. Next time we need twice as many people!
