Get a clue, Limbaugh – Free Staters aren’t conservatives! (or liberals)

Well, the good news is the Cynthia Chase story that we broke here at Free Keene has gone national in a big way, with Breitbart and Rush Limbaugh picking up the story.

The bad news is that they got a key point of the story wrong. WAY wrong.

Cynthia Chase said that “Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today.” However, the conservative media is reporting the story as though she said Conservatives are the single biggest threat.

Get a clue. Free State Project participants are NOT “conservative”, nor are they “liberal”. We love liberty.

The Free Staters that I know all support ending the insane war on drugs. They are LGBT-friendly (or actually LGBT). They are anti-war. Are those “conservative” positions?

If you love liberty, meaning the freedom to live your life as you wish, so long as you don’t harm others, then you should join the Free State Project. However, if you’re a “conservative” that wants to control people’s sex lives or what they put in their bodies, then you won’t fit in. You should stay where you are.

I’d just like to say I think it’s ironic that you emphasize libertarians’ lack of desire to control what others put in their bodies while showing a picture that mocks Limbaugh for his past addiction to painkillers.

  Just because he should be allowed to put pills into his body if he wants, doesn’t make any particular pill a good choice. He should be allowed to drink bleach if he wants, but I’d mock him for it.

  it aint ironic…there is a difference between people having personal freedoms…..having personal freedoms comes w personal responsibility… and if your going to use your personal freedom to abuse drugs and condemn others for using drugs then we can use our personal freedoms for mocking and haranguing you for your hypocrisy… or at least call you out on it

The ‘conservatives’ will always co opt a situation for their own purposes. After the story was written here about Chase’s BH post, a fellow named @liberty_603 created the graphic with her quote that was picked up on Twitter by a NHTPC person who then posted to Facebook. A full story was written on Dec 27th at the NHTPC blog, and Reason. Later Tom Woods and Warner Huston (Breitbart) wrote about it and Huston is a neocon who hates Ron Paul supporters. Neither Woods nor Huston gave credit where credit was due — to this website or to @Liberty_603 who first made the graphic or to the NHTPC who posted it to FB and wrote about it with added info about other socialists and things they have done.

Ian, could you edit your article to also state that “liberals” who want to tax us to death for their “good causes” and who want to limit our gun rights —they won’t fit in either. Or how bout, if you’re “liberal or conservative” and have a desire to control others via the state,– just stay where you are. You shouldn’t be so sensitive to being called a Conservative. I bet if you asked Cynthia Chase and most of Democrat Keene, they would all think you’re conservative. lol

In so far as Free Staters educate the public about freedom, they are a threat. Cynthia Chase meant to say, “Knowledge is the single biggest threat the state is facing today”.

And then Rush gets involved? Conservatism is antithetical to libertarianism. There was a schism in 1788 that created two parties. Most of the founding fathers were libertarian, but a small faction of conservatives wanted to create a monarchy because they believed that people needed to be ruled.

i don’t get it there’s so many lairs in the USA that you cant find the truth some people are beggars and they stand on street corners i don’t give to much because you see the guy when he leaves drive away in a very fancy car but he earned his money by lying its like you cant trust any body its cruel thing in this country its a habit to some, some cant stand it, Reply if you agree.
