The Competitive Enterprise Institute has selected a moderate Republican, Lee Doren, as the new Crasher-in-Chief of Bureaucrash. The ongoing miniseries about the new direction of Bureaucrash in a not so bureaucracy-crashing direction continues. Sorry for the delay. My life is going in a good direction but is in a transition phase right now that makes things very hectic.

Stay tuned for the third, and probably final episode in this series! Bring personal lubricant for your own safety.

Trial Scheduled for Sam: 6/15, 1:30pm ET

SamBIG NEWS:

Mark your calendar. A trial has been scheduled for Sam on 6/15 at 1:30pm in Keene District Court. (2nd Floor, 3 Washington St., Keene, NH 03431)

Word is Ivy sent notice to the city manager and council as well as some other bureaucrats to let them know they will be held liable under some federal code about deprivation of rights (USC 1983) for every day they have been complicit in holding Sam. A couple of days later, a trial has been magically scheduled.

Sam is expected to call tonight’s Free Talk Live.

Also, if you were witness to Sam’s arrest and willing to testify at trial, please post to the trial discussion thread.

The Adventures of Andrew Carroll!

In January, 2009, Andrew Carroll held a plant in his hand and government people arrested him. The plant was a marijuana bud, and the government people were (and are) violent. The law enforcement officers were not shouting or jumping or hitting – they were calm and relatively pleasant to talk to – but a calm and well-spoken thug is a thug nonetheless.

Instead of thinking for themselves – instead of showing anywhere near the amount of courage that Andrew showed in publicly announcing his protest in advance – the law enforcement officers arrested his because he did something that words-on-paper somewhere said was a bad thing to do. They could have thought to themselves, “This guy is not hurting anyone, not threatening anyone, not damaging any property, not stealing anything, not committing fraud, not lying – not a single person even complained that they had a negative opinion of him standing here holding this plant. He is causing no harm at all. This law is a pointless one. We should leave him alone.” Instead, they arrested him because they either can’t or won’t think for themselves, or their understanding of what makes a peaceful society is dangerously distorted.

Bureaucrash has been a bold voice for liberty for years, steadily growing in popularity, but it’s taken on a not-so-bold new direction toward partisan politics as usual. Lee Doren was chosen as the new Crasher in Chief by the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

Sam’s response to “Sit Down and Shut Up”

I’m writing in response to Keene Sentinel columnist Michael Schuman’s story titled “Will the Free Staters Please Sit Down?” I must admit, a couple of years ago, before coming to understand the message of liberty, I would have agreed with Schuman’s opinions.

Schuman’s views are consistent with what many would describe as main stream America. Unfortunately many of his ideas are based in ignorance and misunderstanding that stems from a lack of critical thinking. Like most of us, Schuman probably attended government indoctrination centers where school children are taught to stand on their X, respect authority, and do as you’re told without question.

Take a look at the pledge of allegiance. How many other countries have one? How many of you know it was written by Fancis Bellamy, a National Socialist (Nazi) flag salesman, to “instill a strong belief in the state.” Dont believe me? Look it up on the internet. You’re likely to find the same picture I did of school children doing a Roman salute – the same one Hitler’s army used – before that was changed after WWII.

Schuman’s description of a classical libertarian is severely flawed and his examples display an ignorance of private property vs. individual rights.
