- The police in Dover, NH are refusing to disclose the location of their public surveillance cameras. The Dover Police clearly haven’t paid attention to London, UK where there are literally a million cameras and %80 of their crimes go unsolved.
- Know how many cars you own? The City of Manchester, NH hasn’t the slightest clue. Really. When it’s stolen money you work with, you really don’t have to spend it wisely or pay attention where it goes. Credit to the new mayor though… he is trying to crack down on this incompetence.
- A “crime” committed in New Hampshire by a non-person (a corporation) usually has a higher penalty assessed (usually a felony when a real person would get a misdemeanor) so that fines are higher. After all, you can’t put a file folder in a jail cell. The Dartmouth fraternity of The Tabard is now facing felony charges because a 20-year old ended up arrested for the third time at one of their parties. $$$$$$$$$$$$$
- A bakery was robbed in Nashua. Another drug prohibition caused crime. The man pictured here appears to be “on the nod,” a term that describes a state of being commonly achieved by users of narcotics. This crime doesn’t sound like it had all that much forethought either. It sounds like a desperate sick man needed money… and he surely got it.
- A gentleman from Amherst is pushing the state to keep non-violent offenders out of prison. Â
“Barry Nilson of Amherst has big plans, namely changing the way New Hampshire metes out certain brands of justice, and he hopes to begin that change this summer.
“ “The process would help give a voice to victims of crime, the literal victims and the community as a victim, Nilson said. That voice is largely absent in western criminal justice systems in which “the state” takes over the role as victim and turns victims into the state’s witnesses, he said.“ - A police captain in Hudson, NH flushed his law enforcement career down the toilet by stealing $2,600 from the taxpayers. I prefer the reason why I flushed my law enforcement career down the toilet.
- Everyone knows (or should know) that the media is beholden to the government. If you’re a reporter who relies on getting stories from the police you sure are incentivised to tread gently. The title of this story seems to cater just a wee bit: YouTube video alleges police abuse, but Portsmouth woman pleads guilty to disorderly conduct
- If you don’t take the state seriously… it gets mad: “The judge was in the process of rejecting the plea when she questioned Watkins on why his client was “smiling” during the proceedings.” 🙂
