1. The Attorney General in New Hampshire decides what free speech is allowed:
“CONCORD – Attorney General Michael Delaney’s office denied Wednesday that two right-wing attack ads against Gov. John Lynch were in violation of state campaign finance laws, a claim made by ex-Democratic Party Chairman Kathy Sullivan.”
Ahhh… The democrats trying to use the government to shut up the republicans. What a silly game they play, manipulating the rules to try and use the violence of the state to shut each other up. Speaking of rules:
Amendment 1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
and
Amendment 14: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Logic: The first amendment guarantees that no law shall be passed abridging freedom of speech. The fourteenth applies the first to the individual states (originally the first amendment was only a prohibition on the federal government – the fourteenth amendment changed this). The states cannot abridge free speech.
No one working in government really gives a flip about the Constitution nowadays anyway. Why do I even bother referencing it?
2. New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials in Loudon, NH are claiming that the local police and fire chiefs have a conflict of interest when they determine the amount of “protection” that is needed when they run, as they financially gain from it.
Did you know that a police chief in New Hampshire can require anyone to hire a police officer at just about any time if “public safety” requires it? You have to pay for it… and there is no right of appeal. Check it out, paragraph III.
3. Man, karma (I’m a believer) really is a bitch. Â Cops enforcing victimless drug laws routinely execute family pets that react in the natural way animals do when protecting their home and family. Â Looks like this officer got shot in the leg while the standard execution of a dog was taking place.
Why am I not sad about this?
4. Someone has been consensually selling chemical substances at the University of New Hampshire. They’re arrested after what probably was a massively long investigation and countless taxpayer/student tuition dollars. The drug sales at UNH will stop now!
Wait… wait just a second. I’ve read numerous articles about extensive drug investigations at UNH over the years. If the police were actually doing something to stop the drug problem… wouldn’t the stories of new investigations and arrests stop?
5. The state health department is warning people to watch out for people claiming to be health inspectors. I’m not sure why as the state health inspectors are probably just as effective as the fake ones. What a creative way to get a free dinner!
