O.C. spray was used this morning. Down stairs I hear coughing. I was awoken by a scream.

Today was very different from what I expected. I was awoken by the sound of screaming. I went back to sleep only to be awoken half an hour later by jailer Embry at 5:30 am.
“Mr. Horton, you’re going to be in the kitchen today. When you come out here, your nose might burn a little bit. O.C. spray was just used about a half hour ago.”
In the kitchen, I worked with David (on whom I have a crush), Nate (a long-haired gay boy), Matt Higgins (a funny straight guy who knows the ropes of this place) and “E” (a short but very buff black guy from Brooklyn, also a victim of the war on drugs).
Scott, the head-chef a.k.a. “Captain Cliche'” brought in the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack and the Muppet Show album plus “NOW 38” so that we could listen to good music.
When Scott found out that it was my birthday, he pulled me aside to make cinnamon rolls for Sunday’s breakfast, and we had some with today’s lunch. Today’s breakfast was fruit loops, eggs & cheese, and the home-fried potatoes I made 2 days ago. It was filling and delicious. Since I work in the kitchen, I helped myself to heaping scoops of everything; threw in extra salt & pepper, and used 5 or 6 ketchup packets. So tasty! I was pretty full after that but after a while of working on cinnamon rolls, rolling sporks in napkins, and cleaning 180 trays of food, I was hungry again.
Lunch was peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, coleslaw, peaches, baked beans, and banana pudding. I ate until I was very full and savored the cinnamon rolls Scott made us to celebrate my birthday.
We cleaned up and took out the trash and I got to savor the aroma of fresh air outdoors. I could smell that it was about to rain, and I heard rumbling from some darker clouds in the distance. I was hoping to come back to find that my room had been changed so that I am no longer with angry Jesse but instead with David, but here I am writing this just inches above him on my top bunk. I’m expecting some visitors today, as I have heard from Dale of Flaming Freedom when he visited me yesterday. I will express to my visitors that my birthday wish is for my blog posts I’ve been writing to be published as it has been over 3 weeks since the last update although I have been writing and sending them a few times a week.
7:50 Wow! Dave Silverman, Renee Fr33, and Kelly Voluntaryist just came and visited me! They brought a cake, lit the candles, and sang Happy Birthday! They all looked so beautiful, I wanted to give them all big hugs and say “thank you” but I know I will be able to do that when I get out in just 17 days.
8:30ish My Stars! I was now just visited by Emberlea and Liam, both of whom had happy messages to deliver. Emberlea informed me that she would gather (at my request) all of the podcasts and blog posts that I’ve been missing while I’ve been away so that I can catch up on them when I am out. This is a big help, as I don’t want to be out of the loop!
I am very lucky to have such supportive, loving, and productive friends! 🙂
