When the civil rights movement started, the leaders were accused of provoking violence. The fact police were found to be using force arbitrarily, if not excessively. Blaming the victims, in this case the chalkers, for the violence against them, is unjust.
I am not now nor have I ever been a member of Free Keene, the FSP, the city of Keene, or New Hampshire. Mine is as an outside non-participant observer with no stake in either SFK or FK. In this case, I am the “reasonable person” they refer to in the law.
The acts of war perpetrated on the South in the Civil War is now considered a violation of the Geneva Conventions.
