The saga of the State Thugs vs the Peaceful Noone Family continues with this sentencing hearing after Shalon Noone was found guilty of the bullshit “Child Endangerment” charge earlier this Summer. If you missed the trial video, see it here.
Since it was charged as a “Class A” misdemeanor, Shalon is appealing the charge “de novo”, which means “from the beginning”. That means she’ll get a whole new trial in “superior court” in front of a jury this time. So, this sentencing hearing will not really mean anything unless she decides to not move forward with the appeal.

The robed man, Judge Guptill sentenced her to 45 days in jail, all suspended on the condition of good behavior for a year.

The State is a legal fiction which is funded thru violent and nonconsensual means. Failure to comply with their threats will get you killed, even if you are an otherwise peaceful person.

I agree with you, we should all take child endangerment seriously. The moral of the story is, Don’t leave your children in a running or non running vehicle. Courts allot time for specific things. My understanding is that this was time to argue against the states’ recommendation and for the defense recommendation.

I don’t think threatening a mom with jail for 45 days is in the best interest of the child. It’s almost like the parasitic coercion based State thinks they own people.
Odd too, that people would think an institution based in coercion can somehow be the best arbiter of justice. The kid suffered no harm right?
The prosecutor, judge and all the attendant circus that goes along with it derive their funding from threatening people with harm. I think it’s easy to see which people need a lesson in better behavior here.
Whether mom loses or wins this case, it isn’t within the best interest of a child. There are no winners. She consciously endangered her child by leaving it in a running vehicle.
