This weekend, New Hampshire independence supporters launched a weekly outreach booth in Keene’s Railroad Square. In addition to sharing the word of peaceful secession with passers-by, they also conducted an informal poll, with 16 people voting to stay in the Union and 13 voting that NH should leave! Despite a fresh nationwide poll showing over 25% supporting secession for their respective states, one supporter of the federal Empire stopped at the booth to tell us that she knows everyone in New Hampshire hates us. She said secession will never happen, before storming across Main St.
Then, she turned around and came back across Main St to say something else. That’s when I pulled out my phone and started recording:
Afterwards, she went back across Main St and made a phone call. Keene police showed up minutes later and affirmed our right to record video. They also identified the woman as Democrat activist Margaret Sawyer.
Wow, I had heard the story, but she really was a nutter. Assaulting people merely because they disagree with you is so uncool. As a peaceful person it’s hard for me to wrap my head around it. Maybe if folks were advocating violence of some kind I could at least begin to understand … like ya probably would want to respond to people advocating for concentration camps before the concentration camps get setup… but this? These psycos want to go to war with New Hampshire and then claim we started it because freedom is too scary.
She assaulted them because of the camera. Not because they disagree.
People don’t like having cameras stuck in their faces.
But It was very warranted with Margaret because she is an aggressive out of control person.
It was smart and necessary with her.
It was an unfortunate situation.
And other people might have shown the the camera to the cops and maybe that would have engaged more with the state.

My expertise on prisons is dated and from Florida not New Hampshire, but most of the media produced about prisons is from California and not relevant to Federal medium and minimum security prisons. If Ian goes to prison, it will likely be a medium to minimum place like Aria is in. Prison gangs aren’t really a thing there.
I bet that bossy lady claims to be “against guns”, but would be okay using government guns against peaceful people who only wish to disassociate politically from her.
