I am sitting here at the monthly school board meeting and who walks in but Keene police, who apparently wanted to make a public spectacle (In front of Cheshire TV and the audience here) of their serving me with yet another no trespass order. I stepped outside the room so as to not have them further disrupt the proceedings. At this point, I have now been banned from all “Keene School District property on school days 6:30am to 6:30pm”. This no trespass order has no expiration on it, so I have been banned forever. Apparently this even includes the school board’s administrative building. This order effectively bans me from running for school board again in 2013, as in order to run for school board, one has to physically visit the SAU 29 administrative building on Maple Ave. This order also prevents me from attending some ostensibly public school board committee meetings, as some start prior to 6:30pm, which I have been doing recently, as an interested member of the public.
The people inside the system have always told disobedient activists that they don’t like the disobedient approach and that we should “work inside the system”. However, witness what happens when we actually try to do this. The people of the system will stop at nothing, it seems, to prevent us from actually working inside it. This whole system is a huge joke.
I am forced to pay for their system by the threat of stealing my home, but I cannot currently physically be present at the Cheshire county courthouse, Monadnock Regional High School, and all Keene school district property. What’s next? All sidewalks? The city building?
How much more absurd can this get?
Also, Keene police are currently looking to deliver similar no trespass orders to my fellow bloggers Derrick J and Kelly Voluntaryist.
UPDATE: Assistant superintendent Bill Gurney claims he did not think the trespass order through and affirms that I will be allowed to attend all school board meetings.
