The comments are blowing up on WMUR’s coverage of the heroic young lady who is refusing to stand for the pledge of allegiance at Monadnock Regional Middle/High School. The courageous student, Fatima Smart, is interviewed in the piece, saying:
“I don’t like pretending to believe in something I don’t believe in just to please other people. They have their rights, and I have mine.”
Plus, WBZ-TV in Boston filed a shorter piece interviewing Fatima and her mother, Kerry Boscarino:
“I don’t like our government – I disagree with everything they do.” – Why then is she going to a “government” school?
What is the point of continuing on with this subject. The whole incident is over with. The “media” you posted was taken 3 days ago. Again, this is seems like another attempt to try employing “humiliation” tactics. There is just no rhyme or reason to it.
Jumping Jacks She’s a hero and deserves applause. She’s getting humiliation from the nationalist flag-wavers.
FTL_Ian Jumping Jacks I’m sorry but you are very wrong. She was offered options for her beliefs. I have been through this on another article. My children go to that school. They haven’t heard anything. It’s been dealt with and people have moved on. I suggest you do the same. You can’t change the past.
