If law enforcement went to the legislature and spoke the truth about what was happening in their respective communities the politicians would have no choice but to end this nightmare that is victimizing so many innocent people.
For a profession comprised of people who claim to be so “tough,” it is quite ironic how intellectually scared and timid individual police officers are. If they (you reading this) were not scared, they (you) would have to courage to stand up and help stop this horror which is causing people to be victimized every day.
These newly newly minted victims can thank New Hampshire’s failure of a drug war for their plight:
05/11/10 – Police eyed 3 arrestees for months
“On Monday, Nashua police said the Hammerles and Wilson, plus a fourth person, Michele Nault, 20, of 188 Concord St., were under investigation for several months for the possession and sale of drugs throughout the city.”
Now that the police have put so much effort into arresting these three people for selling drugs we can expect these news stories out of Nashua to cease, right?
If this police work was actually accomplishing something…. can you answer why these stories never stop? Logic would dictate that they would, right?
I actually feel bad for the individual police officers who think that all this work is actually making a positive difference. It is doing the exact opposite.
05/11/10 – Teen arrested, charged with burglary
“Police arrested a Hudson teenager Monday for allegedly burglarizing a home last week.”
“Pelosi allegedly entered the home during the day and took gift cards and cash. Hudson police officer Steve McElhinney investigated and eventually tracked down Pelosi after someone tried to use one of the cards, a Visa gift card, at Cash Converters in Hudson, Dyac said.”
Can you tell me why someone would need to get the cash out of a gift card that they burglarized from someone’s home? If they executed a burglary for money to buy computer games or groceries why wouldn’t they just use the card at the store?
(Hint: drug dealers don’t accept Visa.)
05/11/10 – Man charged in burglaries of same residence
“A local man burglarized the same apartment building twice in five months, identifying himself both times when he sold the stolen goods at a pawn shop, police said.”
Can anyone guess as to why this guy victimized people and needed money?
05/11/10 – Hudson teen charged with burglary
This article does not specifically indicate that the offender involved was looking for money for drugs. It is a safe assumption.
05/11/10 – Manchester pharmacy robbed of Oxycontin
“Store employees reported the man entered the store and walked to the rear, where the pharmacy is located. He then jumped over the counter, brandished a butcher type knife, with a 6-to-8-inch blade, and demanded Oxycontin. After receiving the drugs, the robber fled the store.”
If you think ending the “War on Drugs” is a bad idea, as a matter of simple logic: you support these repeated crimes.
This happens all the time and will never stop so long as there is drug prohibition.
The victim in this case is lucky to still be alive.
05/12/10 – Rochester man arrested on charges of trespassing and theft
“Police arrested a local man Monday night after a Patton Street resident allegedly caught him sifting through the contents of his wife’s vehicle.”
Property crime.
“Langlois also answered to a felony drug charge from April 26. Assistant County Attorney Kathryn Smykowski said he was previously arrested, released and given a May 24 arraignment date on that charge.”
Drug use.
“Court documents said he was charged April 26 with misdemeanor marijuana possession and felony possession of Suboxone, which according to the National Drug Intelligence Center is used in opiate addiction therapy.”
Drug addiction.
How many times are you willing to allow your neighbors be victimized by drug addicts who need money for drugs?
For a fraction of the cost of investigation, prosecution, and incarceration there could be treatment for these people. Not only is it more humane than tossing a person with a medical problem in a jail cell, but these people would not be hurting all these innocent people.
“According to a police affidavit, Langlois and three other males allegedly attempted to pawn a $300 power washer at Tri-City Trading in Somersworth.”
Like I’ve been saying… Â People rob and steal from the innocent and head to the pawn shop to trade their stolen items for money. To buy drugs.
“The power washer was among several items, including a wheelbarrow, a step ladder, two leaf blowers and a $2,400 industrial sewing machine, stolen during a February residential burglary, the affidavit said.”
Doesn’t matter what it is. So long as it can get money at the pawn shop…. it’s as good as stolen.
“Strafford County Community Corrections filed a notice that it delayed an assessment of Langlois because he stated he is detoxing from a prescription narcotic. SCCC said it was difficult to hold a conversation with Langlois because he had difficulty paying attention.”
He’s a drug addict. He’s sick.
“Langlois told the court being on Community Corrections strains his finances, and that the last time he was monitored he could not afford to eat.”
No, being a narcotic addict strains his finances… and he’ll continue to victimize innocent people to support it.
05/12/10 – Armed men sought in Keene home invasion
“Police are looking for two men who broke into an elderly man’s home, tied him up and robbed him Tuesday night.”
Why do you think these two violent thugs were looking for money?
“The two men tied Brigham up and left with some of his property.”
Off to the pawn shop they go. See a pattern here?
If you live in Keene, maybe you’ll be next.
(or perhaps soon will be)
