1. An attorney with political connections in Concord, NH is caging a man like an animal for 18-months for participating in the black market sale of plants. Since the dawn of time people have wanted to alter their state of consciousness. People do it every day with alcohol. People do it every day with marijuana. By any measure of rational science marijuana is proven time and time again to be safer to us vs. alcohol.
“Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man(,)” according to DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge Francis Young.
Why must we continue to toss people in a cage for voluntarily agreeing to exchange money for this plant? Wait, I know why. Good grief.
This man is not accused of hurting anyone. Accordingly, he should not be hurt by the state.
2. The City of Manchester has changed their rules to allow expulsion from the government indoctrinat-, um, schools, for crimes committed outside of the school itself. Getting kicked out of public school may be one of the best things that could happen to a student nowadays. It appears that this only will apply to things that cause the student to be a threat to the community.
Selling drugs, a victimless crime, seems to be on the list of reasons to be tossed out of school.
3. A big controversy exists in Manchester from an incident that occurred at the off-duty police watering hole. An incident that happened at the Strange Brew Tavern resulted in a man being arrested after he had a beef with four off-duty Manchester police officers. This incident comes after a Manchester officer was convicted in court of assaulting a man in a different incident at the same bar.
“Police accuse Micklovich, 32, of striking one of the officers with his fists. But Micklovich claims he was held down, kicked in the face and head. Micklovich alleged he suffered two broken eye sockets and a broken nose during the incident. His mug shot included dried blood and a bump at his hairline and a stream of dried blood from his swollen-shut left eye.”
I wonder who the investigating officers are more likely to believe. It looks like the county attorney is involved in sorting out this mess.
4. In Hudson, NH a teenager being a teenager has managed to blow himself up after making a homemade explosive device. It is a felony under New Hampshire law and federal law to produce an explosive/destructive device without authorization.
I’m willing to bet that this kid will face charges for what he did. What he did was entirely victimless if he only hurt himself. He should not be prosecuted.
If he is prosecuted I suggest that most adults should be prosecuted for stupid things they did when they were kids. I remember downloading the Anarchists Cookbook from the internet and making things that go boom or catch on fire. It’s what kids do.
5. Normally, a government agent who has acted illegally/improperly can beat the allegation by simply lying about it. It gets a whole lot harder to get away with wrongdoing when someone catches you on camera.
The FBI’s conclusions reached in an investigation into a US Border Patrol shooting of a 14-year old boy in Mexico is being rebuffed by cell phone camera footage taken of the incident. If this footage was never taken this case may have been closed with the truth being covered up. Film the police. Every chance you get.
I encourage you to be courteous and thank them when your rights are respected.
6. As reprehensible as child pornography may be, the mere act of possessing it or sending it to someone is in fact a victimless crime. I understand the logic behind outlawing the possession or transmission of these disgusting images and videos and as emotionally disturbing to us as it is that someone would want to collect these types of things…Â someone with a hard disk full of 1’s and 0’s that make up an image is not actually harming someone while in possession of such data.
A New Hampshire man was just sentenced to six years in federal prison for transmitting these disturbing images.
Molesting a child is NOT a victimless crime and if someone hurts a child they should be met with serious consequences.
Someone who merely possesses an image of something should not be caged. I’d argue they should be ostracized for doing such a sick thing though.
7. A New Hampshire woman just pleaded guilty in federal court for purchasing a firearm for someone who is ineligible to possess/purchase one.  This is a victimless “crime” as well.
If the government can continue expanding the list of people who cannot have firearms, how long before your name ends up on a list? There is already talk of having a “no-guy buy” list similar to the “no-fly” list. How would you like your 2nd Amendment rights to rest in the hands of an ATF bureaucrat?
Laws outlawing the possession of firearms by felons are only followed by felons who want to obey the law in the first place. If a felon re-offends and hurts someone, why not punish them for what they did wrong?
You will have a lifetime gun ownership prohibition if you do the following here in New Hampshire:
– Get 12 speeding tickets in five years
– Get caught driving after suspension twice
– Drive again after being certified an habitual offender
– Have harmed/endangered no-one in the process
I read somewhere that every American, on average, commits three felonies a day. Imagine if YOU were prosecuted for one of them. BAM! No touching a firearm ever again.
How about we punish people only when they ACTUALLY harm or endanger someone else.
