The week before liberty activist George Donnelly was set to move to New Hampshire, he was attacked and arrested by federal agents for recording video on a public sidewalk outside the federal courthouse in Allentown, PA. Here’s the story, written after the completion of his odyssey in the federal police state. George, I hope to see you in NH soon!
Lessons to take away:
1. Don’t ever do activism alone. George had two people with him, but more is always better. If the aggressors outnumber you, that’s bad.
2. Have multiple cameras or audio recorders. More cameras is more insurance against them doing something dangerous, and if they do, ensures it is captured from multiple angles. Don’t forget the hidden cameras for extra insurance.
3. Broadcast live via a streaming service for a smartphone like QIK.com or live audio from any phone via Porc411 (if in NH or click the link to get a Porc411 for your area) and tell the bureaucrats they are being broadcast live. This makes it more difficult for them to shut down all the video by confiscating cameras and deleting it, though as George’s video notes, undeleting is possible with free software. Plus, if they know they are being broadcast, they may be more cautious.
4. Wait until you get to New Hampshire before sticking your neck out. Activist Julian Heicklen came to Concord’s federal court and did his FIJA activism. With a crowd of 20-30 activists backing him, the fed agents didn’t bother us one iota. It’s tempting to get active where you are – but doing it carries a great risk of legal action being taken against you, keeping you stuck where you are. Save up and make your move. Then get plugged in.
