If guns are your thing and begging (and paying) for permission to exercise a basic natural and constitutional right are not, there is good news for you. New Hampshire is on course to become the fifth state to do away with pistol “permits.”
Firearm permits are awfully stupid, in all actuality.
If a person is going to commit a crime with a firearm, do you think they are going to stop and say to themselves: “you know…. being an opiate addict and all, I was going to go rob that pharmacy with this handgun, but since I can’t hide it in my pocket without a permit I guess I’ll have to go fill out some paperwork and ask my local police chief for permission to conceal the gun first. Having first obtained the necessary permit and paid the $10 fee, I will avoid committing the misdemeanor crime of carrying a concealed firearm while I conduct my aforementioned armed robbery. It is my wish to comply with the law where I can.”
Good grief. All these laws do is generate revenue for police departments and act as an annoyance to a person who wishes to live a responsible life while armed.
A hearing will be held tomorrow (ha, 04/20) at 1:15PM in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
