Free Keene has just uncovered an exclusive internal draft of a recent KPD press release related to an upcoming CALEA accreditation:
Public Notice
The Keene Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment September 13-15, 2009, as part of a program to achieve recognition by verifying that it meets professional standards. The recognition program requires agencies comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: Customer Satisfaction, Responsiveness to Citizen Requests, Solution Oriented Focus Addressing Root Causes, and Victim Restitution.
The public is encouraged to provide feedback ensuring our assessors get a complete picture of how this agency is impacting the community. Refreshments will be provided to visitors who may meet with our team during business hours this week, during the Saturday/Sunday sessions or other times by appointment. We look forward to hearing from you.
Janice Hartman, CALEA Team Lead
Okay, as you may have guessed, this is not a genuine draft of the press release. I wrote it to get you thinking about how police may be a bit hypocritical and even delusional in their claim to protect and serve the interests of the public.
In Reality, if you want to “offer comments” you’ll need to . . . (more…)
See local liberty activist Sam Dodson defend against the mighty state of New Hampshire. This is the blowout extravaganza event of the year – you won’t wanna miss! Witnesses will be called! Ritualistic costumes will be worn! Motions will be made! Armed security will be on hand to keep O-R-D-E-R! Their court will be moved!
Act now to get your front row seat, to “have a seat” before time runs out!
I like to hang around during office hours with the staff of Jeanne Shaheen the US Senator. I may be one of the local “businessmen” who uses government for my own benefit. Do you know anything about me? Please share your information in a comment below.
In unrelated news, Shaheen has updated office hours, and she apparently doesn’t want to hear from Keene. The closest location to share your concerns is now over an hour away.
Politicians have been experiencing increasing resistance to out of control government policies. People showing up to express their disapproval are labeled as disruptive protesters harassing constituents. The police in both Grafton and Keene disagree with that viewpoint. What’s behind Keene City Councilor Pamela Slack ‘s refusal to answer questions on the record for the media?
This video sets the scene for the day:
This was my discussion with Pamela Slack who was there to hear concerns on behalf of Jeanne Shaheen:
Yesterday, this letter to the editor was published in the Keene Sentinel:
An open letter to Sam A. Miller.
I recently read the article in The Sentinel about how Cheshire County “tricked” you into leaving the place you so loved to hate called jail. You had a lovely run there. Three hots and a cot and all the cable TV you could handle. And at no cost to you; John Q. Taxpayer picked up the tab for your new orange threads and your lovely view of the beautiful area of Westmoreland.
No doubt you’re unemployed and are collecting one or more forms of benefits from the very government you denounce, so you really have no idea what it’s like to pay your taxes and see your tax dollars wasted on someone like you.
You refuse to sign a paper releasing you from jail, but then complain that you are being held unjustly and without cause. I am a fellow freedom lover myself, being a Republican, but you, sir, have embarrassed even your fellow Free Staters.
You pollute the downtown with your protests and makeshift signs made from construction paper and magic marker. I know you are longing to be guilty of something so I am going to pass down this judgment in hopes that the matter will be settled and you will stop bothering the good people of this town, county and state. You are guilty of stupidity, and the very thing you are guilty of is also your punishment … a life sentence.
