BEARCAT Hearing Promises Controversy

tiananmen_tank_lencobearcatWhile Robin Hooders prepare to spend a full day in court, this evening Concord city bureaucrats will hold the public hearing on the now infamous BEARCAT grant sought by the police. At 7pm, the public meeting is slated to begin at the council chambers on Green Street. Check out the informative response from Occupy New Hampshire, reformed following the decision to label them a terrorist group by the local police, who gathered to express their opposition to militarism and corporate protectionism. Additional coverage has recently run in Mother Jones, The Washington Times, Common Dreams, and The Boston Liberal. As posted to the Concord-NH.patch.com:

Participants and sympathizers of what was the Occupy New Hampshire movement are shocked to learn that the city of Concord considers us a potential threat to public safety and that we “present daily challenges.” In fact, the city considers us such a threat that it filed a fraudulent grant request to purchase a quarter of a million dollar armored attack vehicle to protect the community from non violent activists in this state.

Occupy NH established an explicit nonviolent ethic at its onset. No ONH event has ever witnessed a single act of violence. Furthermore, while Chief Duval claims that this is for the protection of the citizens of Concord, and wonders about the concern of citizens outside of Concord, he made this process a statewide issue and invited non-Concord residents to participate in the discussion and decision making process by targeting statewide organizations such as Occupy New Hampshire, and the Free State Project. BEARCAT Breaks Into National News Again – This Time It’s Concord

BEARCATAs reported here yesterday, the Concord police are looking to get a BEARCAT to help them crush the activists of the Free State Project and Occupy NH. Here’s a roundup of some of the press this new Concord news is receiving:

Sadly, the Concord city council in 2012 voted unanimously for the police to seek the grant in the first place. Will any Concord city councilors change their mind after the community makes clear their opposition? Time will tell.

Longtime readers of this blog know that the first BEARCAT showdown between the peaceful activists and the militaristic police state was in 2011-2012 in Keene. (more…)

VIDEO: Secret Police Leaving Court

joedirusso_dprkpoliceTwo days ago we saw the first photographs hit the internet of Joseph T. DiRusso, a secret state police sergeant responsible for stealing Garret’s property one month ago without so much as an explanation why. Now, the edited video of Garret’s brief encounter with the evasive DiRusso — which provided the clear images — is live at FreeConcordTV. All of the raw videos from the day are organized into a playlist at Fr33manTVraw.

Secret Police Spotted Exiting Keene Court

joseph_akpf_dirussoToday outside of the Cheshire county superior court, I spotted the work vehicle of New Hampshire secret police sergeant Joseph T. DiRusso, who conspired with other bureaucrats to deprive me of my property exactly one month ago. DiRusso is a secret police officer in that himself and the judge granted themselves a veil of secrecy by ‘sealing’ portions of the search warrant, including the affidavit which explains the reasons and grounds for which my property was seized. The revised release date has been recently revealed to be August 6. After waiting several minutes for him to emerge, I eventually captured images of Joseph exiting the courthouse. These are the first images available online of DiRusso with the exception of a discrete photograph of him previously published by the Keene Sentinel.2013_07_26_jtdirusso_0022013_07_26_jtdirusso_003 (more…)

Camera Robbery: Aug 6 Information Release Date

the-secret-policeYesterday while Robin Hooding in Keene, I stopped into the district court while another person held a camera. Asking the receptionist about when information will be released relative to my case, I was told that the original ‘return date’ of unsealing was scheduled for July 26. For some reason, the unsealing was delayed until August 6. Are the authorities buying themselves more time to avoid the inevitable accountability check? It is also unclear whether the information release will be accompanied by the release of my Canon Vixia camera. Video from the day continues to upload to a playlist at Fr33manTVraw (see the court update from yesterday embedded below).
