Lauren Canario Arrested at Cheshire Jail

Today, Rich Paul was released from jail. For some reason, they called Lauren Canario to let her know she could pick him up. Lauren thinks it’s because she wrote to him in jail and gave him her phone number. As you may recall, last year Lauren was arrested as part of the Trespassive Twelve at the jail for “criminal trespass” for the horrible crime of assembling on public property. You know, that thing they talk about in the first amendment to the US constitution?

So, Lauren goes to the jail to pick up Rich Paul and finds herself arrested for trespassing! After twenty minutes of waiting on them to release Rich, Keene Police officer Uhas rolls up and arrests Lauren. He fills out a complaint then takes Lauren into Keene where she is released from city hall’s district court where she has an arraignment on Wednesday June 8th at 8:30am.

WTF are they thinking? They told her she could come pick him up! As you may recall, Lauren and the others, including myself, were banned from the jail property for a year back in June of 2010. The exception to the ban being when we are given permission to come on the property. She went to the property after they called her and told her she could come get Rich!

Have they just not arrested enough liberty activists recently? Are they begging for a party at the jail parking lot? Clearly they aren’t looking for money, because they must have learned by now that Lauren does not pay fines, right?

Keene Police Officer Joshua English Cleared in Fatal Shooting

Based on what little I know, it sounds to me that Officer English did the absolute right thing in this situation.  It is sad that a human has been killed…  but protection services, public or otherwise, will have to use deadly force from time-to-time to protect innocent human life.

This is the type of thing that police should be doing: protecting people from malum in se.

To those who would question the decision to fire the fatal shot right after a hostage negotiator has arrived I would say this: situations change very quickly.  Were I in Officer English’s shoes…  my priority would not be trying to resolve the situation without the deceased getting hurt.  My priority would be trying to resolve the situation without the person the deceased was threatening to kill getting hurt.  If that means killing the offender while a team of hostage negotiators gather outside, enter the room, or beg me to have a chance to talk the offender down, so be it.  I would have fired too.

I will snoop around and see if I can find a copy of the actual Attorney General report.

Violence With Impunity

There is a good reason why people in the liberty movement will frequently advocate for the privatization of protection services:  Accountability.

I just found an article online about a King County, Washington Sheriffs Deputy who uses force six times more frequently than other officers.  Because of this animal and his proclivity for violence, he recently caused severe brain and spinal injury to a man which resulted in the –> taxpayers <– footing the bill for a $10,000,000 payout.

Think it will be the last person seriously injured by this menace?  Fat chance.

Even after one of Seattle’s biggest news media sources investigated and slams the Sheriffs Department and their thug: nothing. happens. to. either. of. them.  “I can’t turn around and fire a deputy because we have concerns” said the Sheriff.

Can you imagine if this piece of garbage had to actually be accountable for his actions?

At the very minimum there would be a man who would have the use of his legs.
