However, if you read the version the Sentinel published, you did not read the whole thing. David reached out to let us know the letter had a few things that were cut out by the newspaper’s editors, including his naming of former KPD captain Peter “Sturdy” Thomas and a mention of tax dollars. Here’s the original version of his letter, as he sent it to the Sentinel:
Did you get saved from a ticket?
There are people calling themselves “robinhooders” and they are saving people from getting parking tickets in Keene.
This is the insane “war on drugs”: The KPD & FBI bust a heroin dealer then promise to set him free in return for helping them bust a cannabis dealer! The story goes deeper – turns out it was all about targeting Rich Paul’s political associates. The FBI’s Phil Christiana was handling the case and tried to get Rich Paul to set up his fellow liberty activists for arrest. Rich refused to turn snitch and is now going to jury trial on Tuesday at 9am at Cheshire “superior” court. In this video from CopBlock‘s Pete Eyre, Rich Admits he sold cannabis and plans to ask the jury to nullify the war on drugs. Rich says, toward the end of the video, “The time has come to end…this war on drugs”.

The Keene Sentinel has been doing a good job of following harassment and discrimination allegations against the Cheshire Sheriffs from an employee. The charges involve multiple department employees and also include former Sheriff Richard “Dick” Foote. Looks like they have denied the allegations and are moving for a jury trial. It was one month ago when DrDavid Berman removed the feedback mechanisms from his popular youtube video Free Keene Knuckleheads Confronted. Some time recently, the video itself became privatized, making it inaccessible for viewing to the general public. You can see multiple shots taken from Dr. Dave’s perspective in the AKPF episode Dr. David Joins Aqua Keene Parking Force, including audio ripped from the original. Since the video’s debut, Robin Hood of Keene and his Merry Men (of which this author is an active participant) have received a number of apologies and expressions of support from individuals identifying as Christian who believed that the doctor’s actions in the video did not represent their faith well.
While Dr. Dave’s approach was unnecessarily confrontational, I do appreciate that he took the initiative to express himself on video for public dissemination. There are many who never express themselves. Robin Hood and the Merry Men welcome third party videographers to record our actions, and we encourage them to disseminate as much of their footage to the public as possible. The original video description of the Knuckleheads video read:
I’m Confronting these idiots because they are constantly following meter maids around with cameras trying to intimidate them and make their work life miserable. They are acting like little babies because I am calling them names like Jerks and knuckleheads. Aww…did I hurt your feelings? They and those who defend them are just that.
Despite a fine performance by New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union attorney Barbara Keshen, the sad, obedient jury did what the state wanted and convicted the Trespassive Three of Occupy NH for “Criminal Trespass” for the crime of exercising their rights to free speech and assembly after 11pm in Manchester’s Veteran’s Park.
The jury’s guilty verdict basically says that a city ordinance can trump the constitutional supposed “protections” for the rights we allegedly have as human beings. It is a terrible decision against their fellow human beings.
After the trial, several activists awaited the release of the jury and attempted to offer cash for a quick interview. They were not having it, one even saying “we’re not talking to you” which is a strange thing to say, since she was walking alone when she said it. (I didn’t record that interaction.) Were they instructed to not talk to us? One juror in the video says they weren’t given such an instruction, but I have to wonder if that is true.
The juror who speaks to us later is not shown in the video, at her request. Could that be because she was ashamed of what she did? She decided to talk to us only after all the other jurors and court security had left. (more…)
A letter to the editor was recently published in the Keene Sentinel by David Crawford. In it, he expresses appreciation for Robin Hooders, the people who save motorists from being ticketed for parking at expired meters by placing coins in said meters before the meter maids can reach them to write a ticket.
