The ever controversial liberty blogger, Christopher Cantwell, visits the studio this week and promptly steals the show, but I’m not mad at him. It was good times.
What we talked about: Producing good internet content • Copblock under fire; Becoming too radical for some • Getting blocked from Facebook. Again • Ladies, stop trying to kill chivalry • Marvel introduces lady Thor • Darryl, and Rapsher join • Show notes at: BlackSheepRising.org
Below are tweets from Rich Paul’s mostly successful VOP hearing where the state failed to prove, even by preponderance of the evidence, that Rich had violated the weapons prohibition! He was sentenced to some time due to cannabis violations, to which he readily admitted, however once he’s out, he’ll be OFF probation! Hooray! Video to come later. Thanks to Darryl for the live tweeting. Here are his tweets in reverse chronological order:

There’s a restaurant in Keene called The Stage. But there’s no stage quite like the one that sits adjacent to it: Keene Central Square. Made famous by dozens of courageousarrests, Central Square plays host to the most bizarre encounters ever to be imagined.
In this video, activist and FreeKeene.com blogger Garret Ean records as he and members of the group “Stop Free Keene!!!” are locked in a never-ending chalk-removal battle. Some people are chalking while others are removing the chalk with water.
Local cop (and occasional persecutor for ‘the State’) Jason Short arrives and asks if there is a problem. Immediately the cries come from both sides, like children reacting to daddy coming home and finding siblings fighting.
Paraphrasing:
“We are just trying to clean up the park, and these mean people keep making it dirty!”
“They sprayed water on me! Don’t we have a right to the first amendment?”
“Yes, yes, calm down children. Behave. You’re both right. Now just get along, will you?”
“Don’t tell us what to do!”
One girl with bleached and fading pink hair faces a much taller Jason Short as if confronting a bully, and then, teary-eyed, dramatically walks away. Hamming it up.
The NHCLU filed suit today against Secretary of State Bill Gardner over a ballot access law that makes it more difficult for parties other than the protected two to get on the ballot.
A press release written by Gilles Bissonnette, Staff Attorney for the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union reads, in part:
[T]he NHCLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Libertarian Party challenging HB1542. HB1542 is a new state law passed this year that imposes onerous restrictions on the ability of third parties to gain access to the ballot in future elections. This law limits voter choice and stacks the deck against candidates who—like roughly 40% of Granite Staters—don’t belong to a major party. HB1542 is wrong and unconstitutional. (more…)
In this video, activist Rich Paul’s appeal attorney Joshua Gordon argues in front of the Supreme Court that instructions for juries should be more acknowledging of their right to jury nullification, while the attorney for the state argues that nullification is illegal, but tolerated by the system:
Rich was originally convicted by a jury of his “peers” on cannabis dealing charges (more…)
With the exciting double parking ticket trial of AKPF #1 co-producer Garret Ean last week, the audience is treated in this episode to the complete and illustrated footage of the court hearing featuring infamous faces of the Keene criminal justice system. Judge Edward Burke hears the case brought forward by KPD prosecutor Jean Kilham, with AKPF agent Jane called upon as the sole witness. In this inquiry, we see how eager to object to anything and everything that the state’s representative is, and Burke also plays a significant role in tipping the hand of the defense on lines of questioning. Ultimately, most arguments are not permitted to be made, and the disproportionate fine of five dollars per offense is levied, though compensated partially in Obamacoin.
Thanks to the Keene Sentinel’s Martha Shanahan for her feature article about local bitcoin-accepting businesses that appears on the front page of today’s Keene Sentinel, above-the-fold! She interviews the operators of Corner News, Stone Farm Bed and Breakfast, Moda Suo, and Carroll Garden Center regarding their experiences as local businesses accepting bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a decentralized currency and financial transaction network that is changing the world. One bitcoin is worth over $600 at the time of this writing. As time goes on, more merchant solutions are being released that are making accepting bitcoin at brick-and-mortar business easier and easier. These local businesses are the pioneers in this space. How exciting that bitcoin is being used in Keene!
As Silicon Valley investors and currency speculators continue to keep their sights — and dollars — fixed on Bitcoin, a small number of Monadnock Region businesses are dipping their toes in the water to experiment with the electronic currency.
When someone comes into the Corner News in Keene interested in buying something with Bitcoin — about three or four times a week, owner Roberta Mastrogiovanni said — both parties whip out their smartphones. (more…)
