Earlier today Manchester liberty activist, Liberty Carrots, visited Manch airport for about 45 minutes with a rifle strapped to his back. Free Keene broke the news earlier today. Thanks to Bradford Randall of the Nashua Telegraph for filing this report, which includes excerpts from Carrots’ interview with the reporter.
Carrots’ creative, courageous activism is not the first at Manch airport. Longtime readers of Free Keene may recall in 2012 when Keene activists Derrick J and Kelly went to Manchester airport to strip down in protest of the invasive TSA, in their “Don’t Strip Our Rights” events.
Plus, back before Free Keene even existed, early mover and civil disobedience activist Russell Kanning was arrested at the airport for trying to board a flight with no ID, a Bible, and a copy of the declaration of independence!
Free Keene blogger Robert Mathias took this photo and says video is to come – stay tuned to Free Keene for the latest!
This past February I attended my very first Liberty Forum in Nashua New Hampshire. While there I met many inspiring people dedicated to living free in our life time. Many of the people I met call the shire home or were their to discover what the Free State Project is all about. I took the opportunity to create a video that would help portray the dedication to liberty that so many of the attendees at Liberty Forum have. To showcase why so many of us are active for the cause of freedom.
Shortly after the conclusion of the three day Robin Hood of Keene evidentiary hearing, which led to the dismissal of civil lawsuits against the Merry People, nearly complete video records of the hearings were posted online to Fr33manTVraw and the FreeKeene youtube channel. Unfortunately, due to a technical malfunction midway through day two of proceedings, approximately sixteen minutes of direct examination of a witness was excluded from publication.
To restore the public record, the Merry People have obtained an audio record of the entire hearing from the court. The corrupted file was re-edited with audio from the missing segment affixed in the proper location and inserted into the raw video playlist. Enjoy the now complete record of the Robin Hood of Keene civil trial, which was performed on August 12, September 30, and October 01 of 2013, and currently awaits appeal to the NH supreme court.
Why I plead guilty to “disobeying”: I don’t have time to make a video right now, so a post will have to do. Monday morning, I was ready for a trial. We walked into the Laconia court house, and my attorney Seth Hipple asked to speak to me. He informed me that prosecutor Jim Sawyer had contacted him that morning and said he believed I had given false information on the bail paperwork I filled out in jail and that he intended to charge me with perjury.
What would this have meant? Regardless of the outcome of Monday’s trial, it would have meant ANOTHER trial and – because my attorney was at the jail when I was doing paperwork – I would have to hire ANOTHER lawyer. Jim Sawyer was willing to stop the additional assault if I would pay $100 and admit to committing the horrendous crime of not obeying orders shouted by a jackboot in the street.
So I had a choice – more hours of my life to the state and fistfuls of money to another lawyer, or leaving a situation that had just taken a very bad turn. (more…)
The Cheshire Superior Court gave both sides until March 17 to file further Memorandums of Law before the court would issue a final decision in the case of Salada, et al. v Keene School District. The case was filed by four voters after the February Deliberative Session in which all of the warrant articles that were placed by petition were amended in such a way as to create a nullity.
The following Memorandums of Law were filed. Salada et al. memorandum of law (1 of 2) Salada et al. memorandum of law (2 of 2)
For the second Monday in three weeks, anti-Robin Hood proponents have issued a denunciatory printout, distributing the flier to car windshields around the downtown portions of Keene. This week’s flier is less profane than the last, which included the ‘f’ word uncensored. Perhaps in response to negative feedback, the flier now bowdlerizes the language with asterisks and includes seldom accurate information listed sequentially following pronouncements declaring the content, ‘Fact’.
One goal of the flier’s author seems to be consciousness raising directed at the home address of myself (Garret) and at least one other Free Keene blogger. I can’t imagine too many of the recipients of the flier will be delighted to read what amounts to a distasteful rant posturing as though it were a serious critique of community activists. In all honesty, could one ask for a more useful opposition?
