If they wouldn’t have arrested Evan, this never would have happened. Today, cops ignored the cannabis celebration completely. Here’s the raw footage of yesterday’s mass hotboxing of the Keene police’s lobby!

once in a while the FK dumbasses get one almost perfectly correct. congrats, pothead fuckers (except the nuremberg-defense tool slurping badged-criminal ass).

  • Dan

Props to Sam for the excellent speech towards the end of the video. If the people yelling and screaming would take his advice and follow his example it would put the group in a much more positive light.

  • Josh

Maybe hotboxing the state house might be an event worth looking into. I don't think the security folks up there would be as calm as Shane, though.

  • AnAmazedReader

Hmm. A small group of unkempt, obscenity-spouting people, most of them in their twenties, who look like they haven't had a bath or a shower in weeks, shouting at and harassing cops who are simply passing by and/or attending to their work. Capped off by a "speech" from a small-time new-age huckster whose idea of a "fast" is drinking milk (Bapu, didn't you know? All those days of actual abstention from nourishment were unnecessary. You could have simply and self-servingly changed the generally-recognized meaning of the term "fast" and avoided all that suffering. Sure, it might not have actually done anything to advance the cause of freeing Indians (hard to be a credible leader of a true mass-movement when you behave in a demonstrably hypocritical way), but think of all that pesky suffering you would have avoided).

And you actually WANT people to see these videos? Well, by all means, DO carry on.

  • BigMike

That's it. I'm moving back to Detroit. How do you top smoking in the police station?

Indeed, I had not heard that the bird is the word.

  • http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php bob42

Here's a suggestion for AnAmazedReader. Instead of calling people names and criticizing their points of view, perhaps you could have a civil discussion. In other words, why don't you behave like an adult?

Explain why it is that you think that cannabis should remain illegal? What are the benefits of its prohibition? What are the costs? Do you think alcohol should be prohibited too? (Gee, that didn't work out so well last time, did it?

  • Jeff

Ann, what makes you more angry? That the people who smoked in the Keene PD lobby were doing as they wished with their own bodies freely or that the people you'd love to see assaulting them, kidnapping them, and extorting money from them for their actions didn't?

You're just an angry person. Why don't you stop being angry and afraid of what you don't understand? Would a hug from me help?

  • charley hardman

Instead of calling people names and criticizing their points of view, perhaps you could have a civil discussion. In other words, why don’t you behave like an adult?

as you criticize her point of view in a comment so pussified it calls names only via passive-aggressive implication, after which you launch into standard utilitarianism disaster.

  • http://no1984blog.com Slim

I heard that the bird is the word a long time ago but I did not think the bird would still be the word today. The bird has some stamina to keep on being the word for decades.

  • http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php bob42

Charley, it is not possible to criticize points of view that were not stated.

I suggested a more mature discussion, and asked a few questions specific to the matter at hand. Why do you take issue with that?

I thought that part of the point of these activities was to encourage discussions about a topic that many politicians are too cowardly to approach.

The first part of this quote is nothing but an ad hominem. Why are the appearances, word-choices, and ages of the people involved in this event relevant?

As for the "harassment" of police… I would remind you of a few facts:

    1. Anything that could be construed as harassment was committed by the police, not the protesters. They walked around Central Square trying to intimidate protesters for no reason. There were a few cases where police physically assaulted protesters without reason (except, of course, their own vindictiveness). There was also an incident where a driver hit a skateboarder with her car and, instead of helping the victim, the police on the scene told the driver to leave and harassed the skateboarder.

    2. Police kidnapped two people the second of whom was not even smoking marijuana! The video takes place after this second kidnapping. Should people be passive when kidnappers are allowed to get away with their crimes?

    3. Even the cops who were "just doing their jobs" are part of the violent gang responsible for the kidnappings and they are paid salaries with money stolen from the people they have sworn to "serve and protect."

  • Rick

A very interesting video. I am appalled at the juvenile and gang-mentality type behavior exhibited by the “activists”. I was especially impressed by the brave souls who wore masks to hide themselves. Did anyone give any thought when you were chanting and carrying on in the police lobby that you were interfering with the duties of the dispatcher? The Dispatcher is the person behind the Communications window in case you didn’t figure it out. The dispatcher fields calls from folks and victims who need police services. What if the victim of a real serious crime wanted to speak to an officer and came across your group in the lobby. Pretty likely you would have scared them away. It’s pretty clear that you don’t like the police but don’t interfere with the folks who really do need their services. It’s interesting that when pursuing your “rights” you don’t seem to mind trampling on everyone else’s. I’ve been a citizen of this community for over 30 years. If you continue to behave like children you will only alienate yourselves further and further from the community. Respect is a two-way street. If you want to receive it then you have to exhibit it. At that you have failed miserably!

  • http://freetalklive.com/ Ian

    Rick,

Those people never would have been in that lobby had the police not arrested Evan.

They are the ones who disrespected. They need to earn respect by leaving peaceful people alone.

  • charley hardman

Charley, it is not possible to criticize points of view that were not stated.

what are you bitching about? her POV, of course. stop bullshitting yourself.

I suggested a more mature discussion,

classic nonsensical passive-aggressiveness. "mature"? asking "why don’t you behave like an adult" is your pussy way of calling her childish while you prance off about "name calling". you're doing exactly what you're criticizing, only with about 10% of the honesty. name-calling is irrelevant. <<< <a href="http://saltypig.com/blog/2007/10/retards-name-calling-is-irrelevant.htm" rel="nofollow">read that again, dumbass.

Charley, if you would like to engage in a serious discussion regarding the wisdom of waging a war on drugs, I'm willing. We might start with the questions I originally asked above.

Explain why it is that you think that cannabis should remain illegal? What are the benefits of its prohibition? What are the costs? Do you think alcohol should be prohibited too?

I'm not interested in a meta discussion about who allegedly called who what first, as little good is likely to result from that kind of conversation.

I would also be interested in a discussion of why so many politicians run away from open discussions on the costs and effectiveness of current drug prohibition policies.

  • charley hardman

Charley, if you would like to engage in a serious discussion regarding the wisdom of waging a war on drugs,

    serious? more nonsense from you.

Explain why it is that you think that cannabis should remain illegal? What are the benefits of its prohibition? What are the costs? Do you think alcohol should be prohibited too?

    you're a genius.

I’m not interested in a meta discussion

you were until you got busted. now? eh, not so much.

Come on AnAmazedReader. Haven't you heard….?

  • Lpviper

The cause was proper, in my view, but I did not care for the foul language myself. I have spent much time in forums debating whether words hurt and what is to be done about the 'bad' words. I think censorship of any kind is bullshit. BUT, you are all on video, ostensibly to persuade people that you are coming from a compassionate point of view, or at least that you aren't keen on having your individual rights (control over what is put into one's body) trampled upon. Can't the questionable language be put aside for these things? Personally I can usually control my language (unless the offending object has made me bleed, then it's GAME ON) when I am trying to put a point across to an audience of people that I know will be offended by those words.

I have been trying to watch these videos but the real point of the protest is almost hiding behind all the 'fuck fuck fuck' that's going on.

Maybe you all should get together and have a discussion about this. I would never tell anyone how to behave or how to speak, but I believe I am firmly in the minority on this one.

Actions have consequences and words mean things to people. Think about that as you go to your daily smoke out today.

And thank you for standing up for your individual rights.

  • Rick

    Ian,

Let's look at this another way. If Evan hadn't been doing whatever it was he was doing the police wouldn't have arrested him. You can't blame the police for the behavior of the folks in the lobby. They chose to be there and need to take responsibility for their own actions.

  • Lpviper

The police are also free to choose not to aggress against those who are not aggressing against others, Rick. The police made the immoral choice, not Evan.

  • charley hardman

Let’s look at this another way. If Evan hadn’t been doing whatever it was he was doing [...]

oh, ya mean that nothing illegal bit?

stop and think thoroughly about that, if your feeble state-addled mind allows. you control-freak psychos are so enraptured in your obsessive-compulsive fealty disorder that you need a lab kit to tell if someone's "offending" you.

  • Anton Lee

Rick, normal people not looking to be harassed don't usually pluck peaceful people off the street.

I know, it's hard to comprehend. Until you do you should sit behind the computer and not hurt anyone. The next step in your evolution is to not support the aggression against others. If you can do this, you're doing well. Keep it up!

  • Rick

    LPVIPER and ANTON LEE,

I still haven't changed my opinion but I do appreciate your insightful perspectives. Thanks.

    CHARLEY,

I guess my feeble state-addled mind and yours will just have to agree to disagree.

  • charley hardman

    [...] agree to disagree.

mating call of a doink, as if verifiable truth is a matter of opinion.

  • theKINGofKEENE

quit screwing around, Charley. You know as well as I, that doinks are hermaphroditic, and reproduce asexually…and to be fair to the rest of us, your writings would be easier to comprehend if you didn't write in a style almost exactly like mine…you know, grossly over-educated, convoluted, and needlessly-complex sentence structures…and too many adjectives/modifiers/insults/taunting…///…anybody who has had the misfortune to need/use the services of NH Public Defenders has seen this in bold print: "You don't have to do anything wrong to get arrested." Seriously. Think about it. In NH, truly, "You don't have to do anything wrong to get arrested."…I'm almost through with smack-talking Jumanjiville/KPD/Kangaroo Court, next, on to Hampton Howard & Caroline Smith and E. Jason Blankenship, and the role that MASIELLO REAL ESTATE played in the theft of my house…Both my parents were Masiello employed *REALTORS*…///…"REALTOR" – your assurance that you will get screwed *LEGALLY*…

  • Jeff

    Charley needs a hug.

I'll ask you the same question I asked Ann. Charley, what makes you more angry? That the people who smoked in the Keene PD lobby were doing as they wished with their own bodies freely or that the people you’d love to see assaulting them, kidnapping them, and extorting money from them for their actions didn’t?

C'mon Charley, it's OK. I don't want to hurt you in any way. I know you're just scared. It's OK…you've been lied to and manipulated. I understand.

  • charley hardman

, what makes you more angry? That the people who smoked in the Keene PD lobby were doing as they wished with their own bodies freely or that the people you’d love to see assaulting them, kidnapping them, and extorting money from them for their actions didn’t?

assumes facts not in evidence. if you need help understanding that statement, keep your mouth shut until you get it straight.

C’mon Charley, it’s OK. I don’t want to hurt you in any way. I know you’re just scared. It’s OK…you’ve been lied to and manipulated. I understand.

next time simply hang a "blind and unobservant" sign around your neck. can you read? lordy lordy.

  • Jeff

    Charley,

"assumes facts not in evidence." LoL. You're funny. I like it when people are funny. It amuses me. Here, allow me to help you by introducing some humor into your day. You know what happens when you ASS-U-ME Charley? You make an ass out of you! I think there might be more to that, but I'm not certain. Isn't that funny? Anyway…

The facts are that people behaved as if they actually owned their own bodies and had some kind of right to do with thier bodies as they saw fit! Can you imagine? Also factual is that the people who are employed to make sure that such villany is punished didn't punish those who acted in such a fashion.

So my question stands Charley. I'd like to know which makes you more angry. Understanding your anger is the first step towards healing Charley. And you really need to be healed.

The offer for a hug stands.

  • charley hardman

You know what happens when you ASS-U-ME Charley?

maybe somebody'll drop in and help you discover your idjit error. i won't do more.

  • Jeff

    Charley,

I find it encouraging that you're willing to continue to have a dialog here.

So which is it that makes you more angry? That people behaved as if they owned themselves or that the enforcers didn't hurt those people who acted in that fasion for doing so?

C'mon, Chuck! You can do it! I know you can answer the question!

  • http://ringingliberty.com Paul

Jeff, don't waste your time with Charley. He's the resident bitter rageaholic insult tosser.

(By the way, Charley, since that was a defensive response to your aggressive insult, it should actually be considered a complement.)

    =p

  • Fr33dom

Assume makes an ass out of u and me. That's the rest of the story Jeff. :)

I didn't see the police haul anyone off of this video, so I can't say if they were provoked to do so or not.

Reciting the 1st Amendment would be a good thing to do. Helping people to learn your purpose in your 4-20 would also be a good thing. Helping to educate the masses is a great way to build the freedom – liberty program. Or as Mr Obama would say, it's a "teachable moment".

How many people will join our effort if they witness loud and profane language? It catagorizes you into what some might say is low life, and whatever other terminology one might think of.

The recent protest that took place in Pittsburgh, was police violence for no purpose at all. Now that is a definate uncalled for UN – American thing to do.

  • charley hardman

Reciting the 1st Amendment would be a good thing to do.

except for the bit where the first amendment is wholly inapplicable to the official crime syndicates known as the several states. your assertion marks you as ignorant; please don't make it worse by replying with "incorporation doctrine" horse shit.

How many people will join our effort if they witness loud and profane language?

how many have joined witnessing it not? your essential premise is shot. if sensitivity to profanity discourages them, they were going to be no help anyway. you're confusing manners with liberty, mr. politeness man.

The recent protest that took place in Pittsburgh, was police violence for no purpose at all. Now that is a definate uncalled for UN – American thing to do.

    idiot.

  • Fr33dom

Gosh Charley, the last I looked, I didn't have a penis, but that's okay, we can't see one another on here.

I really don't believe that you are an idiot, but since you called me an idiot, that would mean that "It takes one to know one". So, it was nice meeting you idiot.

Probably smoking weed for over 50 years has bramaged my drain?

  • charley hardman

, but since you called me an idiot, that would mean that “It takes one to know one”

    logic. look into it.

  • Fr33dom

Yes Charley, I do understand the logic. We are both idiots and I'm pleased to meet you. I do take pride in who I am and what I stand for. I'll soon be in Keene to join you all. I hope there are a lot more idiots there. Before I met you on here, I invited my eldest daughter (21) to go with me. I can almost bet that she will not have to work that day, even if she is scheduled. Oh, and she's an idiot also, but don't tell her that I said that. haha

  • Jeff

    Hi Charley!

I'm still encouraged to see you here sharing your thoughts. I'm a bit disappointed though at your decision thus far to not answer my question. You see, getting to the root of your anger will help you to move past it.

So Charley, which part of the protest was it that prompted you to respond with anger? That people acted as though they actually owned themselves, or that the people who are supposed to punish them if they do act as though they actually own themselves didn't? C'mon Charley, you can tell me. It's OK.

I still think you need a hug Charley. Everything will be OK.
