No arrests at today’s 420 in Nashua, but they did threaten arrests for “disorderly conduct” over using megaphones. Sounds like it’s time for Megaphone Day in Nashua! Here are the videos, thanks to Bill Dominico:

I wasn’t there, but I heard that someone brought a blow-horn and was using it openly in public.

“You can come and arrest me” probably wasn’t the best thing to say :-)

In NH disorderly conduct requires a citizen, police officer does not meet the statute according to their supreme court.

At what volume level does it become disorderly conduct without a citizen complaint? In what direction? This is nothing but thuggery.

Sam…you didnt listen well…there is an alleged complaint from the doctors office (the doctor? receptionist?)
Are you slipping…your writing and comments are a little sloppy and off base lately.
Standing downwind of the smoke at 420 maybe?

One might simply walk over and quietly, kindly, ask them whether they had indeed called in a complaint. If so, quiet down. If not, the lie would be exposed.

Even if there was in fact no complaint, one could go on to ask whether the noise was in fact bothersome to them. If so, quiet down — one should be a good neighbor, and not disrupt their business with noise pollution.
