    Genius!

  • Mitch

Awesome! Can't wait to see how this turns out.

    6. A council member says the phrase "master plan."

  • http://webryders.net Nick Ryder

    FYI,

You can likely watch this event live at http://cheshiretv.org/stream.htm. Cheshire TV live broadcasts the City Council meetings.

    Comedy.

  • thinkliberty

Religious nuts always get upset when you drink beer at their place of worship. When members of the religion of statism overreact and kidnap you, we'll call you the blasphemous 20! (using a really optimistic number.)

  • Andrew Sawyer

    I suggest:

    * 'finish your drink' if the phrase "for the children" is used

    * 'raise your glasses' (drinking not needed) if someone suggests rolling back the size, scope or enforcement power of the government IE supports more liberty/freedom

  • Jess

    Andrew, nice suggestions (y)

  • Jacob

Announcing: Sam Dodson. I am an idiot.

  • Andrew Sawyer

Jacob, I think your post speaks for itself regarding your mental aquity…

  • Paul

I'm not sure why you're announcing Sam Dodson, Jacob, but I am sorry to hear you believe you're an idiot.

I'm sure you're actually quite an intelligent person. Just spend some time thinking for yourself. You might start by asking yourself how the behaviors of our current government measure up to basic moral standards.

  • Paul

I like the "raise your glass" suggestion.

How about a drink when a council member refers to the entire city of Keene as "we", or otherwise presumes to speak for and/or make decisions for everyone.

I'm there in spirit with an IBC.

  • wouter215

    i can't drink alcohol..

i turn homicidal when i get drunk..

  • Sam A. Robrin

    Sorry to hear that, Officer…

  • dingdongdugong

Wow they really arnt going to like this at all. Cant wait for the video of the inevitable bureaucratic freak out. Make sure you guys have live streaming, otherwise it'll never see the light of day.

  • Bradley Jardis

How about a drink when a council member refers to the entire city of Keene as "we", and then presumes to speak for everyone.

Uh, I think you'd be drunk in minutes.

  • Paul

You guys are funny. I foresee a new house rule "no food or drink" allowed in chambers…..

  • http://www.keenesentinel.com/classifieds/ Keith

I would like to go on record saying that I think this is a bad idea.

  • Nichael garcia

I think it is unecessary. But I will still watch the video.

  • Brad

FreeKeener: Hmm, so what can we do to attract more attention to ourselves, alienate the community, and perhaps even (dare we say it?) get arrested!

  • Paul

    Why Keith?

I do think it's important to consider the impact of anything like this … but this isn't interfering with anyone's daily life, just the government meeting. Do you expect a negative public reaction?

I guess it depends how it actually goes down. It'd probably be better to be somewhat subtle about it, not too noisy, otherwise you'd get kicked out right away. If I put my "average Joe" hat on to the best of my ability, I think I'd just find it funny.

  • http://freetalklive.com/ Ian Freeman

Brad, if by "community" you mean people who have some sort of reverence for the violent monopoly, you are correct.

  • Brad Ryder

Well, you got what you wanted. By the smirk on Sam's face, he seems pretty happy with himself. And everyone got to see just how *violent* (not) the police behaved toward you. Grow up, people.

  • bigScrotum

Now this is a fail! Sam is unstable and Ian is gullible.

I think Sam enjoys the "May I have another sir". Don't wait, Sam. Get some therapy.

  • Chase Banks

I just tuned in to the live stream, and I believe I just saw Ian and Sam being arrested and escorted out by some piggies.

  • Paul

How about you advocate that the "city council" stop stealing people's money, BradR? That seems like it'd be a good step as far as "growing up" goes. I mean, I'd learned not to steal before first grade.

I don't support all of the things all of the activists do, and I'd have to see a video to comment on this, but they're not stealing people's stuff, so that gives them lots of big points over the city council as far as I'm concerned.

  • bigScrotum

I'm not surprised that Sam would come up with such a cockamamie scheme. I am surprised that others would follow his lead.

This, as civil disobedience will set you back, further than you know. Bad bad, childish move.

You could have saved time and beer by simply standing and urinating at the meeting.

Hearts and minds? You failed! Who should take you seriously?

(And Sam, talk to a professional about your PTSD.)

  • Lauren

Maybe I clicked on the wrong link but I don't see a city meeting, I see a guy in a pilgrim's outfit talking about Indians…

  • Lauren

    Guys, they're drinking non-alcoholic beverages…

  • Andrew Sawyer

Lauren, they cut the feed after the meeting started back up post-arrest.

  • Lauren

    awww boo that's what I figured happened…

  • http://www.freelunchproject.com Nealaus

Perfect! Today is also International Beer Day!
    http://internationalbeerday.com

  • bigScrotum

    Sorry Lauren,
Alcohol or not, they may as well have pissed on the floor. The message failed. They failed. This will convince/persuade/attract/gain empathy/enlightenment, no one.

They will be lucky to get smeared in the Sentinel. Any publicity is NOT good publicity.

It's not about going too far. It's about having a positive impact. Listen to Sam at your peril.

It will be interesting to watch how Sam and Ian cope with being shunned by their own soul brothers.

  • Chase Banks

pigScrotum: You keep saying they failed etc etc, but this just happened less than an hour ago. You don't know that the "message failed/they failed", and I don't think anyone cares about some dude's baseless conjectures. But I can tell you enjoy being the nay-sayer.

  • bil

Is it possible to voice your opinion without namecalling??? It would make it easier to think you had thought about your post. —bil

    Paul said

    "Why Keith?

Paul, the people at the meeting were inconvenienced, the news reports are likely gonna be negative and so is the word of mouth. Overall, it was negative activism, in my opinion. It didn't help, it didn't do nothing, it actually made things worse.

  • thinkliberty

    @bS

I think you are overreacting, they didn't piss on the floor.

But If we are going to overreact, I will play along: The city counsel members might as well pull down there pants and force everyone to lick their butts and eat their poop with the taxes they expect everyone to pay them.

Pissing on the floor (which they didn't do) is mild in comparison.

  • http://www.libertyontour.com Adam

Why every time I leave Keene you guys do something GREAT!

Last time I took off the 420 rallys started, not a drinking game. WTF

    Good work guys.

These people who just can't function in their lives without being drooling apologists for the city council, or any other gooberment entity, have got some seriously big problems. The worst of them is that they are in denial of the sheer viciousness of their (and our) abusers.

I wrote this response to the Keene Sentinel article about the arrests at the council meeting:

    To "Dan in Keene":

You are in denial about a lot of things and I am saddened that you do not recognize your relationship with government at best, is an unrequited one. You love them, yet they do not care for you at all. You are in denial about the very plain fact that the "Free Staters" did not break what you mistakenly refer to as "the law" at the council meeting.

You want the harsh punishment of locking away Ian, Sam and others in a cage for refusing to be bullied by an abuser. If it were any other abuser you and everyone in Keene would clamor for them to immediately remove their tormentor from their lives, yet not the state. Why would you or anyone hold to such a brutal double standard? Why would you be in such deep denial about any abuser or cover for their cruelty?

You most certainly wouldn't cover for someone who mistreated their spouse or lover, would you? Yet people who give the government on any level a "pass" when it cages human beings. We live in a nation where it is becoming commonplace to torture, imprison, and even kill those who are not "with the program".

An endorsement of such viciousness against the peaceful inhabitants of your lands says much more about the mindset of the abuser, and it's apologists, than it could ever about those who wish to free themselves from it. If you wish to continue to think of yourself as a decent person, you should never forget this.

Such high regard of "the law" no matter who it harms, is not morality and never has been, it is instead a worship of power. You appear to be in very serious denial about that too. How utterly sad that you and some folks in Keene feel that way.

I hope that they can get over their intense fear of spurning their abusers before more of your peaceful fellow beings are hurt by those in love with their ability to lord over us all.

Honestly, what is anyone hoping to achieve by this? This free keene bullshit does nothing but support the notion that those that want extremely limited government are crazy and nothing more than troublemakers. Why don't you all grow up and do something that will help to sway public opinion in favor of the liberty movement, rather than perform childish stunts.
