Normally I’d advise avoiding politics, but this is a pretty big opportunity to send a message to the Feds and show the strength of the liberty activist community in NH. -Ian

WHAT: Rally in support of HCR6
WHEN: 8:00 AM, Wednesday, March 4th
WHERE: NH State House, 107 N Main St., Concord [ Map ]
WHY: The Federal government has gone far enough. We need to draw a line in the sand. If there is further egregious, serious disrespect of the US Constitution by the Federal government, then New Hampshire must reclaim its sovereignty. See the interview on Glenn Beck here; longer interview here.
WHO: YOU! Not “somebody”. Not “those people”. YOU!!
HCR6 came out of committee with a surprise “Inexpedient to Legislate” recommendation.
For those that remember it, this is a replay of the resistance against the bills to get NH out of Real-ID. This is unacceptable. Fortunately, we have a playbook. We know what it takes to move this forward: MASSIVE PUBLIC SUPPORT!
ACTION ITEMS BEFORE THE RALLY:
1. Email or call your State Reps. Simply, courteously, ask them to support HCR6 when it comes to a vote. Their contact info is here
2. Contact the Speaker of the House, Terie Norelli, terie.norelli@leg.state.nh.us or (603) 271-3661 and ask her to support HCR6 when it comes to the full legislature for a vote
3. Pass this info along to everyone you know

Minarchy, or what I like to call the absurd belief that evil is necessary, has got to be one of the most irrational mythologies mankind has ever concocted. For many, it’s a brief step on the way toward fully rejecting statism, but I can’t understand how anyone spends any substantial amount of time there.
I’m hoping to expand this post later, but I’m tired.

The root
by James B Schlessinger Jr.
You go along to get along
And when everything goes wrong
You only seek to prolong
The same old song
If change is going to happen
It is going to require action
Not more of this distraction
As a dead horse is beaten
The market will correct
When the malinvestment is put in check
The Fed must be closed
Or the economy is hosed
The money is the problem
Because you didn’t follow the Maxim
The printing presses rolled
When we should be using gold

A popular point to make amongst the liberty crowd is to point out that if you are paying X percent of your income in taxes, then you are X percent a slave. In The Slave Test, assuming you didn’t pass, I promised to offer a method of determining what percent a slave you are. If my method were based on the percent of your productivity stolen then it could be quite a difficult number to calculate.
Taxes are pervasive, incorporated into almost every activity we engage in, and often evasive as well. There are the obvious ones that we see on our pay stubs and the fees we must pay to governments to partake of things we often presume to be the rights of free people, like traveling, or buying goods and services, or owning a home, but there are hidden ones like the fees that your employers must pay to hire you which comes straight out of the same employment budget they use to determine your salary. And that’s only the most obvious impact on your livelihood imposed by our masters.
