Jim Massery, Lenco Rep: Conservative, Christian, Citizen, Fraud

From Radley Balko‘s Huffington Post article on the Keene BearCat issue:

“These people are crazy,” Massery said. “They hate cops. They hate the government. They remind me of the Jehovah’s Witnesses who take on the Red Cross. Why is anyone listening to them?”

I must say that I found this statement from Jim Massery, the Lenco representative I met at the city council meeting on the BearCat, to be a bit confusing.  Jim and I had had a good conversation following the BearCat meeting in which he stated that Keene had the most passion in standing up to police militarization that he had ever seen.  So why is he quoted on the Huffington Post as saying I’m crazy?  If I’m crazy, why did he even bother to hold a conversation with me, much less to pay me such a nice compliment?

If he thinks I’m some whack-job, why didn’t he stand for his opinions and tell me so to my face?

That doesn’t really sound like the way a Christian ought to conduct himself. (more…)

Defense Filed Documents in State v. Jason Talley

This blog is made pursuant to NH Rules of Professional Conduct 3.6 (c) (2) and (c) (6) as the below have been filed with the Cheshire County Superior Court and the people of New Hampshire should be aware of the danger to the public interest.

The New Hampshire Judicial Branch belongs to the people of this state, not the people who hold (and have abused) positions of power within it.

In the words of a frequent FreeKeene.com commenter and critic on our Motion To Dismiss charges against Jason, “enslave keene” stated:

For all that know me and probably wish I would just go away, let me call a spade a spade here and say Judge Burke messed up big here. The fact he did this to a person or persons I personally find to be of low integrity does not negate the fact that a standing judge did abuse very special powers granted him under the assumption of honest execution of those powers.

Judge Burke, you messed up. You let “them” get under your skin, I get it but sorry you have got to stand accountable for this one.

… as do the New Hampshire Judicial Branch officials who enacted rules restricting constitutional rights as a result of his criminal conduct.

WKBK Drops Hatemonger Talk Show Host Mark Levin

Local talk radio listeners have probably noticed that hatemongering neocon Mark Levin is no longer on the air on WKBK. Program Director Dan Mitchell explained that Levin has been dumped off of all of Saga Communications’ talk stations nationwide. (Update – Saga’s WGAN told me they still have Levin. So, that was inaccurate.) Unfortunately, WKBK did not opt to replace him with Keene’s own “Free Talk Live“. Thankfully, Clear Channel’s WSPD in Toledo, OH did just that.

To give you some idea of who this Levin character is, I submit the following: In a stunning example of poor customer service, Levin attacks WSPD Program Director Brian Wilson in an email he angrily sent upon discovering his show was canceled by Wilson. Anti-BearCat / Pro-Peace Outreach at KSC

Considering that the front page of the school newspaper displays a graphic which actually appears as though a BearCat is driving right on BEARCATthrough, I was a bit surprised that more students weren’t familiar with this issue already.  However, despite the cloudy grey afternoon, Ian, Derrick J., and I managed to distribute over 300 “Thanks, but no tanks” flyers to students throughout the KSC campus.

Most were extremely receptive and happy to take the flyer.  I continued the discussion past that point with quite a few students and received some pretty colorful feedback, ranging from surprise to dismay to anger.  Strong language was used in several instances, and one student pondered using the BearCat as a public restroom.
