What, no pepper spray? KPD is going soft…..
Give the kid an Emmy for the acting job!
Hey Santorum ! The fashion police called they want you to get in that time machine and return your sweater to 1977.
It isn't 'peaceful' – when you're annoying the hell out of everyone. Key word to the other video by AP you tout, is…protestors "disrupt". Do you need someone to define that word to?
Matt,
While I can see how you might view this as a disruption, I encourage you to look a bit deeper at WHY this happened….please consider what Santorum stands for. Isn''t it frightening to you that a person like him wants to kill people in foreign lands and jail them here domestically ?
Would you have people stand by and NOT protest a person like this? Do you want him to kill people and jail people in your name?
@ Bob
Our current president apologizes to the world "in our name"?
Bob – how can I know, when I can't hear what the man has to say because a bunch of people are being disruptive to the process by singing a song to the tune of Xmas. Protesting….fine – I have no problem with protesting – stand there with your signs…..ask a question or two, and then listen to what he has to say about it; otherwise – it is a disruption. They are peeing their pants because AP picked up a snippet, which tells me that is the only thing they were/are interested in – a REAL news agency –… Read more »
I am straight up busting a gut, after careful review, derrick actually starts to go down a hair before the officer touches him… OH MY! Ohhh Lawd have mercy!
That's because "Going Down" is the only thing Derrick is good at…..
While we disagree vehemently with the FSer's, let's not attack one's sexuality.
Matt's somewhat correct. "Peaceful" is not the best word to use. "Peaceable" is more accurate.
In terms of political protests, a peaceful protest is one which is calm, quiet, etc, while a peaceable protest is one which is non-violent, but not necessarily polite.
Fortunately, those crazy radicals who stormed British ships and dumped cargo into the harbor understood that not all protests will be calm and polite, when the subject of the protest is something vile which certain individuals are trying to force upon others.
MaineShark – Your first two paragraphs were perfect – you really didn't need to throw in the third – it has no correlation whatsoever to a person who is simply in a political race – there is nothing 'forced' about a person engaging in the political process.
If Derrick and whoever else was there wanted to send a clearer message to the world in regard to Santorum, they should have simply made sure their signs were visible to the camera – http://www.santorumexposed.com. Much more effective than a local side show that everyone forgot about 2 minutes after watching it.
Politics is force, by definition. If it wasn't about force, it would just be a discussion.
We can disagree over what uses of force are appropriate. But trying to pretend that those who make and en/force/ laws are not using force is just nonsensical.
Santorum is there because he wants to be in a position where he can wield control over an immense amount of force. The same applies to each candidate.
White privilege is probably true because i know when people from “rural areas” find out where i live they say something like “its must be bad there, like people getting stabbed on your street everyday” and i think to myself, the only differncnce is your area is whiter than mine
I find more evidence of the flying spaghetti monster than I do "white privilege"….
@enslave
You're fortunate enough to live in 99% white NH where you don't see the inequities in the judicial system. Blacks and minorities are disproportionately punished for common crimes compared to whites and are much more likely to be given the death penalty. The percentages of black and hispanics (latinos) incarcerated for possession and distribution charges are not in line with the breakdown of percentages of users.
Like Dr Paul said last night, when was the last time you saw a rich white guy executed? The facts speak for themselves.
Interestingly enough, there was a 420 rally in Nashua 2 years ago in Feb. where there were 50+ whites standing around smoking pot and they arrested the one black guy there.
@ Jasper
Ive lived in NH for 10 years. Before that Boston for 30 years. There is no white privilege. Im sorry it doesnt exsist.
OJ Simpson escaped the death penalty because he had money. Like wise there a a healthy amount of poor white trash on death row.
It's money not color.
enslave is right about that- money privlidge exists- one more reason to create a classless, moneyless society
Anita, My last comment was not an attack on anyone's sexuality. I have no issue with anyone's orientation. You see, "going down" (in terms of sexuality) can be applied to any sexual preference. It can also refer to his lame attempts at "activism" "going down" the drain and making him look foolish. Derrick just seems to be good at the latter (I can not speak to your interpretation of the former).
@enslave,
"our" current President? Um, he's not "my" President. I never agreed to do anything but leave others alone. I don't have or need a "leader" or President.
As far as an apology, if the United States has killed many people or sent troops to occupy lands and destroy homes etc. I suppose that might be behavior worthy of an apology…or restitution.
You're right, Bill. I responded too quickly! Thanks.
