What good things does your government do? Seriously. Ask yourself that question.
Are there some things now done by government employees that you’d rather not pay for (war)? Are there some things done by government employees that you’d still want done but recognize the current inefficiency (roads) and poor customer service (police)?
Surely those goods/services could be provided more-efficiently and more morally absent a monopoly.
Here’s a short ditty written by John Harvey. It’s catchy, smart and pretty spot-on:
For a more in-depth conversation about this check out this excellent video by Jacob Spinney:
Here is an article from the P2P blog touching on some of these topics: http://blog.p2pfoundation.net/how-to-get-what-you… A lot of people feel that the government isn't doing an efficient job of providing people with services and would probably agree with you a lot on everything you're presenting in this post. What they (and I) would like to know is, what exactly do you think we should be doing? You can only record police and sell unpasteurized milk on the black market for silver for so long. I talk to a lot of people about building a new system, and while they agree… Read more »

Answer your own question …and go for it…
"So Pete, what kinds of actions do you think people should take to bring in a new system that’s both efficient and ethical?"
Definitely wearing a baseball cap in court and asking random police "officers" if they enjoy earning a salary from stolen funds. These are really working great so far – lol. He isn't going to answer you Julia. Pete has great passion and certainly has some balls…..but the only thing he can ever spout is the same lame rhetoric and scripted bullshit. There isn't anything original at all to any of his ideas. JMO.
Meh, it's always worth a shot.
Julia, have you heard of Bitcoin? Leftists who like it consider it the people's money. Righties who like it consider it free-market money. It's something both the left and the right can agree is good. At the end of the day it all comes down to money. If you want to make the world a better place, start using money that isn't controlled by the banksters/government.
Bitcoins are about as useful as those stupid little flakes of silver in 1 cent laminated cards that some freestater came up with. ShireSilver or something. LOL. Try buying a dinner at Chili's with that. It's like you guys are playing house or something, and a cats eye marble is worth more than a solid one. It's kind of cute.
Not sure how bitcoin will dissolve the state in any way. Isn't it going through inflation?
http://nakedkeynesianism.blogspot.com/2012/01/hyp…
Also, bitcoin is only used for sites like silkroad. I'm not sure Market Basket will take 'em.
i can just picture matt and julia having a romantic dinner of greasy potato skins at chilis, and then skipping on the bill to show solidarity with the kitchen labor. true heroes.
So, aside from putting religious faith in botcoin, what else would you suggest people do if they want to end the state?
They don't have potato skins at Chili's. And how would skipping on a bill show solidarity to kitchen labor? That doesn't make a lick of sense, as usual. Or are you simply trying to group us in to some imaginary lower caste…as if working in a kitchen is beneath you. You're getting more and more fucking stupid by the day. I was hopeful you might get better at this.

Chili's Restaurant Menu
LOADED POTATO SKINS
Topped with cheese, applewood smoked bacon, green onions and a side of sour cream.
Oh High Five Tom Sawyer….you actually checked out the menu at Chili's. ARE YOU REALLY THAT DESPERATE, OR JUST REALLY THAT STUPID? Fucking Hilarious.

Need I say more?
*BITCOIN**BOY*
Julia needs a cock. She needs to be satisfied.
Thanks for posting this song and video Pete. Governments murder and imprison many millions of people, yet some people still say if we change that we will have chaos. Hmm, isn't the murder of millions and record prison populations chaotic enough?
A society that is based on consensual interaction and the non intitation of aggression is not inconceivable. The fact that we haven't had this doesn't mean it can't happen. Many people once "knew" the world was flat too didn't they?
"matt" get a life.go away. no one cares what you think.
Can't you keep your harassment to your family,if they still speak to you.
Did division X place those thermo lobe injectors into bradfords campsite yet?
I heard they were installed last week…
And still no reasonable answers to my questions here either.
The answer Julia is that you should do what you want to foster freedom. If you have the courage to resist compliance with nonconsensual and violent systems you should consider that also.
Alternative systems that do not rely on force to provide goods and services are built from the ground up. Use them or create them, but remember there are those that think you do not own yourself and they will try to impose their will on you, but then again you already know that.
"The answer Julia is that you should do what you want to foster freedom."
Vague answer is vague. The vast majority of our desires are socially constructed. "Doing what you want" could very well continue the same system libertarians wish to get rid of.
Also, how would you prevent the ultra-wealthy from trying to bring the state back?
hers a song for u julia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcWzlxECaPo
Is it true, Julia, do you need a cock in your mouth?
Just answer the question, ok?
Actually the bitcoin economy has 47 million USD in circulation right now and is used to buy all sorts of things. If you visit the marketplace at bitcointalk.org you will see a huge variety of goods changing hands every day, from computer hardware to major shopping site gift cards to gemstones and jewelry and anabolic steroids. The market area is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0 and there are also auctions. With new merchants coming online virtually every day, the product offerings have expanded a lot in just the last 30 days. Also the rate of expansion seems to be growing with new merchants… Read more »

Julia,
What is vague about "do what you wish as long as you don't harm others" ? If you think a system needs to be built, go do it. If others find value in your system or proposal they should be free to engage or not.
Who do you speak for when you say "our desires" ? Do you believe you can consent for others or that somebody else can or should be able to using coercion?
She believes in murder as the solution… pretty coercive. lol
Julia, you asked "So Pete, what kinds of actions do you think people should take to bring in a new system that’s both efficient and ethical?" I'd pretty much echo what was already stated by Bob C – it won't come from a top-down mandate but will happen one mind at a time. When each person concludes that initiating force isn't ideal (either per moral or efficiency rationale) then they'll work to cease such actions themselves while either directly or indirectly influencing those around them to do the same. theKINGofKeene, you wrote, "Isn’t one of the biggest hurdles facing anarchism… Read more »
