On the morning of June 16th, 2014 myself and fellow Free Keene blogger Joel Valenzuela were accompanied by activists Angela Aronoff, Nicholas Buroker, and new Free State Project mover Andrew Vermiglio at the Hillsborough County Superior Court House located in down town Manchester NH. We arrived at the court house to warmly great jurors as they approached the building. As they approached, we were handing out NHJury.com pamphlets to jurors. The pamphlets inform the jurors of their rights as a juror. The emphasis being that a jury can vote not guilty if the law is unjust. Jury nullification outreach has been consistent every jury selection at this court house since March of this year. Hopefully other activists around the state will do the same at other court houses.
The self proclaimed Garret Ean of Manchester, new mover Andrew Vermiglio aka Shire Dude joins us in studio to talk about his journey from California, the liberty culture of NH, Porcfest, agorism in Manchester, how public we are about our beliefs, plus Rob and Joel debate what minarchists really are.
Documentary film maker Beau Davis stopped by the Rebel Love Studios to discuss his up coming documentary 101 Reasons: Liberty Lives in New Hampshire. Other topics discussed include Beau’s journey to the Shire, our experiences living with in the liberty community, the importance of filming vs privacy and agorism.
On May 20th, 2014 NH Governor Maggie Hassan used the back drop of a highway construction site to sign into law an increase on the state tax on gas. This was most likely done to show that they plan on using the extra stolen funds to finish a project that was already started with stolen funds. Further, NH State Troopers were used to shut down the highway when the Governor and the rest of the participants in the signing ceremony were traveling from the staging area to the construction site. Free Staters in collaboration with the NH chapter of Americans for Prosperity joined in a protest of this increased theft by the state. Even though many with in the liberty community disagree with some positions of the AFP(this blogger included), there is a benefit when working toward common goals. Especially when that goal is to reject theft at the hands of the state. I hope to see more collaborative work among Free Staters and any group or organization that shares the same goals of a specific issue. Free Keene bloggers Joel Valenzuela and Rich Paul were also took part in this protest.
