Bitcoin Ticketing is Now Working Again for Keenevention 2015!

Due to Keenevention hitting an arbitrary limit with our bitcoin payment provider, Bitpay, bitcoin ticketing was down for a few days. Bitpay lifted the account limitation today, so I have restored the bitcoin options to the Tickets page. Keenevention is this October 31st through November 1st in Keene. Here are the bitcoin ticket purchase links, for your convenience:

NY Cracking Down on Bitcoin Businesses – NH Welcomes You!

Bitcoin NH License Plate

Bitcoiners Love NH

Especially if you love liberty, you’ve got to get out of New York now, while you still can. The so-called “bitlicense” has taken effect in New York and it’s instantly stopping small businesses from being created or driving them out of the state entirely.

To be clear, according to the NY state gang’s own website, businesses who accept bitcoin for payment for product and service do not need to get a bitlicense, but if customers can’t get bitcoin because NY has made it insanely difficult to buy and sell bitcoin, what good is it to accept them?

New York is doing their best to strangle the nascent bitcoin marketplace before it gets out of the cradle. Now only the most obedient and wealthy companies will be able to buy and sell bitcoin in New York. It’s protectionism all the way, and it’s likely not going to get any better for the little guy.

In contrast, New Hampshire has somme of the biggest bitcoiners in the world that are participants in the Free State Project and have moved or will be moving here once the project reaches its goal of 20,000. The FSP even put up a special page on their website touting some of the reasons why New Hampshire is a destination for the bitcoin and liberty-loving community.

Lamassu BVM

The Keene Bitcoin Vending Machine

Since the publication of that list, New Hampshire has become the only place in all of Northern New England (VT, NH, ME) that has a publicly accessible Bitcoin Vending Machine (sadly, BVMs are closing down in New York). It’s at 101 Deals Thrift Store and besides Boston, the Keene BVM is the only option in the region. The Keene Bitcoin Vending Machine is a community service operated by the Shire Free Church. Where will the next BVM pop-up?

No one should really be surprised about the bitcoin crackdown in New York. They call it the Empire State for a reason. The Mercatus Center annual study on the freedom of the fifty states continues to rank New York at #50, below the awful California at #49.

If you love bitcoin and liberty, you should move to New Hampshire. Here’s how to join the Free State Project.

18 Bitcoin Wallets Installed, Hundreds Flyered @ Cheshire Fair 2015

Bitcoin Booth 2015 Team

Bitcoin Booth 2015 Team

Last year, Keene liberty activists manned a bitcoin outreach booth at the Cheshire Fair. In that five days, we installed a grand total of three bitcoin wallets (though we did hand out hundreds of bitcoin flyers). This year, we did it again and installed eighteen wallets, had dozens of great conversations, and shared bitcoin intro flyers with hundreds more fair attendees! Despite a couple of minor issues, the fair outreach booth went swimmingly! A couple of people used the original Keene bitcoin vending machine at the fair, and many others were directed to the BVM at 101 Deals Thrift Store for future purchases.

Fair attendees had plenty of good questions and our professional staff of bitcoin-enthusiasts had answers, including Derrick J Freeman and Chris Cantwell. Thanks to all the folks who helped with the booth and everyone who stopped by. If you want to meet with other area bitcoiners, drop into the Keene Bitcoin Network group on Facebook.

Several Bitcoin Wallets Installed At Cheshire Fair Thus Far

Local liberty activists are manning a bitcoin outreach booth at this year’s Cheshire Fair, going on through Sunday. Thus far several bitcoin wallets have been installed, already surpassing the three we had installed last year.  Many folks have asked questions and still more are open to accepting an informational flier about the awesome cryptocurrency.

If you’ve been wondering about bitcoin, drop in and see us at the fair!  We’ll get you hooked up with a free bitcoin wallet for your smartphone and if you want, you can try out the original Keene bitcoin vending machine!

2015 Cheshire Fair Outreach Booth Features Bitcoin Vending Machine

It’s our fourth year at the annual Cheshire Fair! Keene liberty activists including Derrick J Freeman, Chris Cantwell, yours truly, and others will be manning the Bitcoin outreach booth. For the second year, the booth is featuring the original Keene Bitcoin Vending Machine. (The other, improved BVM is still at 101 Deals Thrift Store.) We’ll have the usual propaganda on hand from Copblock, the Foundation for NH Independence, NH Jury, and Shire Society. You can also declare your independence by signing the Shire Society Declaration and take it home to keep.

See you at the 2015 Cheshire Fair, today through Sunday on route 12 in Swanzey!

Region’s Only Bitcoin Vending Machine Upgraded!

The Keene Bitcoin Vending Machine @ 101 Deals

The region’s only Bitcoin Vending Machine (located at 101 Deals Thrift Store) still looks the same on the outside. It’s got the same, bright, quick, easy-to-use interface. Internally, though. a major upgrade has been made. The machine is no longer relying on blockchain.info for sending customers’ bitcoin and instead is using its own full bitcoin node. Though it nearly always worked previously, it’s now going to be rock-solid-reliable.

As of this writing, the Keene Bitcoin Vending Machine has served more than 30 BTC to various buyers in the last two months. Now, with the price of a full bitcoin rising to nearly $300 USD in recent weeks, there is renewed interest in the reliable, decentralized internet currency. You can learn more about bitcoin at WeUseCoins.com

You can try the Keene Bitcoin Vending Machine for as little as $1. Just get a bitcoin wallet for your smartphone like Airbitz and drop into 101 Deals Thrift Store at 661 Marlboro St. in Keene from Tue-Fri 11a-5p and Saturday 10a-6p.
