Jury Nullification Outreach in Manchester NH.

Jury outreach ManchesterJury nullification outreach has started up again in Manchester NH.  Jury nullification outreach is activism with the purpose to inform jurors of their rights as a juror.  A jury can serve as a check on the law itself if a law is unjust.  Every two weeks jurors are selected at the Hillsborough County Court House in down town Manchester NH.  There were five activists that showed up two weeks ago to hand outJury outreach Manchester jury nullification pamphlets.  This week we had four activists including myself, Riaz Kahan, Kurt Thomas, and Amanda BillyRock.  There were two different pamphlets being handed out.  The  pamphlets are available from fija.org and nhjury.com  The following dates in which future jury nullification outreach will take place will be on May 19th, June 2nd, and June 16th at 7:45 am located at 300 Chestnut st, Manchester NH.  If you are in the Manchester area and wish to participate, meet us at the court house.  All are welcome to join.

Cynthia Chase & Chuck Weed Not Running for Re-Election for State Rep

cynthia_chase_threatfsp[1]Remember state representative Cynthia Chase who famously said, “Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today.“? She and state rep Chuck Weed, both “D”-rated by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, are not running for re-election this year!

In a report by the Keene Sentinel’s Kyle Jarvis both reps cite frustrations with the system and their fellow reps. Weed suggests that he’s upset at his fellow Democrats because they won’t get behind other taxes, like an income tax,

weed“I’m very disappointed with Republicans, but also in the Democrats,” he said. His fellow party members are not willing “to talk about key issues that face New Hampshire … being most important to me, a fair tax structure. They’re afraid to bring it up, or even discuss it, because they think that means you’ll lose the next election.”

Chase also cites frustrations with the atmosphere in Concord,

“I find the situation in Concord frustrating at times. I feel very much like a square peg being forced into a round hole. I just don’t fit the mold up there. I hesitate to point my finger at anyone because it’s not their fault, it’s me.

Naturally, the more liberty-oriented people come here as part of the Free State Project, the more frustrating things will become for those who wish to control others. Already, anti-liberty reps are leaving office because they are having too much difficulty passing increases in government.  Now that liberty media like Ridley Report and Free Keene are on their cases and exposing them publicly, that can’t make things very comfortable for them. So, they’re quitting, which is a big opportunity for liberty-loving people to help elect someone more freedom-oriented!

Liberty is possible here in New Hampshire, but we need your help.

Vocal Free Keene Critic Publicly Threatens Garret Ean

Seamus O’Connor and his wife, Carolyn Hanks have lived in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire for a few years now. Both have claimed participation in the Free State Project, but have also been long time critics of Free Keene bloggers, both belonging to a large “STOP FREE KEENE!!!” group on facebook. On April carolynhanks_seamusoconnor23 of 2014, Seamus uploaded a video titled, “Garret”, which consisted of several repeated explicit threats of violence directed at Garret Ean. Beginning the monologue with, “Garret, I’m gonna kick your ass, you mutherfucker…”, the narrator goes on to repeat the “kick your ass” line, interspersed with references to a rough childhood, and expectations of a non-response to such violence by local authorities. 18:44 – NH State House Activism (allegedly) trumps most other kinds
24:25 – Ian Freeman is a best activist, but we could sure do better
28:50 – End disclaimer segment

Shire Free Church Makes Sentinel Front Page, Above the Fold

CoexistThanks to the Keene Sentinel’s Kyle Jarvis for this excellent Sunday edition, front page, above-the-fold article about the Shire Free Church!  The church’s Keene parsonage is the subject of the piece, but it also covers the purpose of the church and my comment about war and Christians made it in as well.  (You can like Shire Free Church here on Facebook – we just turned 100 there!)  Here’s the piece, the headline of which differs (and is better) in the print edition, “Shire Free, tax free?”:

Two members of a local activist group have applied for tax-exempt status, under religious considerations, for the Leverett Street property one of them formerly owned. (more…)

Announcing the Robin Hood of Keene People’s BBQ May 9

Robin Hood and the Merry People are pleased to announce a very special public event to be held on Central Square on Friday, 09 May 2014. To commemorate the first year anniversary of service of the lawsuit by the city of Keene against Robin Hood and bbqrhimg02friends, a free barbeque for the people will kick off at 5:00pm, just as the hours of parking enforcement conclude for the day. All peaceful people are invited to take part in this event and are free to bring along food and drink to share, or simply bring one’s own smile and share in the good company of others.

The people’s BBQ will be a great opportunity to meet Robin Hooders and other activists in the Keene area, and to voice one’s own ideas for how to make our community’s activities more effective. Beef tacos and bottled water will be available for all, as well as a vegan option to be determined. For more information, check out the event on Robin Hood of Keene’s facebook page.
