The Keene Sentinel did run a story yesterday about Cassidy’s arrest, but it’s curiously not available on their website to anyone but subscribers. (It was my understanding that normally they only restrict their stories to subscribers after seven days.) Luckily, journalist Phil Bantz has his own blog where he posts all the stories he writes. So, thanks to Phil, we present his coverage of Sunday’s event:

The Keene Sentinel: August 24, 2009
A topless teenage girl with a handgun holstered on her hip was arrested Sunday afternoon near a busy intersection in downtown Keene.
Cassidy Nicosia, 18, was arrested on a charge of indecent exposure at about 1:30 p.m. near the Main-Marlboro-Winchester streets roundabout.
Nicosia was arrested after police answered multiple complaint calls about a topless girl walking through downtown Keene with a group of armed protesters affiliated with the Free State Project, Keene police Sgt. James A. Cemorelis said. (more…)
Here’s the video containing Cassidy’s arrest for being female and topless in public. There are several videos of the scene in addition to this and all of them can be found on Free Keene Live.
1809:Today, slaves from the plantation of Keene came to support their fellow slaves from Jaffrey Plantation as one of the Jaffrey indentured servants, Jean Coutu, had been notified that the masters of the plantation were attempting to prevent him from having a shooting range at his Live Free or Die Rally this year. Even though the property tender, the slaves operating the Grand View Inn, had given permission, the plantation masters are asking their betters at the “superior court” to show the Grand View Inn and Coutu who really owns them.
2009: Alright, enough of that – here’s the story in common day terms:
Keene area liberty activists turned out heavily to support Jean Coutu’s Live Free or Die Rally in the face of an assault from the Jaffrey gangsters in their “superior” court. There were so many liberty activists, it was standing room only in the meager just-over-20 seat 2nd courtroom. An angry-looking bailiff approached the standing activists and told them they had to sit or leave. As the seats were already filled with news reporters, liberty activists, and Coutu supporters, some activists offered to sit on the ground, as there would be no way to experience the trial on CCTV outside the court. Bailiffs returned and the activists chose to leave rather than be arrested. Brief video of this is at the end of the article.
First up was a woman accused of “Violation of Probation”. (The probation system is one of the sick ways they keep poor people poor, and in the system. It’s so easy to VOP.) The bailiffs enter and the “all rise” is uttered. Several activists on the right side of the room remain seated. A bailiff glares at us and utters “all rise” again. (more…)
Today, William Kostric went to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to protest at President Obama’s Town Hall style meeting regarding healthcare. Soon though, he was spotted on private property nearby the meeting with a legally carried handgun. National news began reporting on the “Man with a Gun” near Obama’s appearance.

Within hours, William was given an appearance on MSNBC’s Hardball:
While William is not a Free Keene blogger, he is often spotted at local activism events and Social Sundays meetups
Thanks to Casey Farrar at the Keene Sentinel, liberty activists got coverage in Sunday’s paper. The story features the spokesman for “senator” Jeanne Shaheen running cover for Pamela Russell Slack, who has been touring parts of New Hampshire working for Shaheen’s office. He’s not telling the truth, of course, and we have the video to prove it. Here’s the story, and check the first comment for my rebuttal to his misinformation:

Activists, staffers clash over format
A slew of town-hall style public forums on health care hosted by Democratic legislators across the country this summer have stirred up some heated debate.
Earlier this week, White House officials counseled Democratic senators on how to cope with orchestrated disruptions from opponents confronting them about President Barack Obama’s health reform proposals during the forums.
Recently, activists in the Granite State have used a similar approach at meetings with staff members for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in communities including Grafton and Keene. (more…)
