In a system where all power is supposedly based on the consent of the governed, where all men are created equally, what happens when one questions the legitimacy and the very nature of government? Watch this video and find out how government solves market needs in a very different way than private companies sseking a profit.
Mr. Bantz does a pretty good job at summarizing what’s gone on to this point. It may be hard for people in this community to understand why it’s a “surprise” that the police were welcoming to the cameras. Just this week, news came out of a videographer taking news footage being taken down by an officer that just didn’t want to be recorded.
Copwatch isn’t about being aggressive. Aggression and force starts by the police when the blue lights turn on behind somebody. We just want to be there so that the officer involved knows everything he does must be able to stand up to scrutiny. There are police agencies just states and cities away from us that take questions and cameras as threats and challenges to their authority, and they don’t respond well to them. It’s great that Keene officers are open for the most part, and Copwatch is about making sure we’ll see it if they go down the road toward corruption.
Fred Parsells had me in on this morning’s “Talkback” for the entire two hours on WKBK. In hour two, Lt. Shane Maxfield from the Keene Police Department joined the conversation in-studio. We discussed the Free State Project, Libertarianism, regulations, representation, the pledge of allegiance, government education, Copwatch, monopolies, the roads, gambling civil disobedience, and market protection services.
I’m a bit of a videophile, so when I found out YouTube now supports higher quality videos, I had to re-upload some of my recent productions. Much to my surprise, not only are the videos now in higher resolution and bandwidth, but they are also staying in the widescreen format! (If you watch in full screen mode on a widescreen monitor).
I cannot embed them in high resolution, so please click the links and then watch in full screen to see these more as the director (me) intended:
This is a series of video and audio collected April 25th while we were Copwatching on Main Street. It outlines some people’s response to us being there. It is unfortunate that the only arrest we saw we were unable to document because we were being harassed by the public.
WTPL’s Gardner Goldsmith interviews Free Keene’s Ian about Saturday’s public gambling event involving Free Keene’s bloggers. We also discuss marijuana prohibition.
