Election night coverage live blogging

[For a final wrapup – see this post]

We’ll track results as they come… how many pro-liberty politicians will be elected?

First results: Michael Sylvia of Belmont, freestater, elected as State Rep!

Losing with almost 1500 votes and 10% of the vote total: FreeKeene’s own Ian Freeman. Despite a strong outspoken polarizing activist in Keene, running as a Libertarian, and against 2 Democrats, Ian got more votes than many Libertarians elsewhere in the nation tonight.

Other good liberty leading votes reelected: Guy Comtois, Kyle Tasker, Joe Pitre, Stella Tremblay, and the only Rep (in different years) elected as Democrat, Libertarian, and Republican, Rep. Steve Vallaincourt, all back to Concord.

Carol and Dan McGuire reelected!

AntiFreeStater Lee Quandt loses. Too bad, so sad.

Poster Child (according to the Dems, the sign if the FSP will succeed) Rep. Mark Warden reelected!

Laura Jones wins re-election by 134 votes!

Dual Freestater win in Ward 11 in Manchester, Former Rep. Joel Winters relected as Dem, and Emily Sandblade as Republican!

Still waiting on a few results, but it’s getting late. Looks like the ‘Freestater’ number will remain about a dozen by my rough count, despite a massive leftward shift in the overall House. I’ll review and post a longer summary later.

Judges Ruling: Darryl W. Perry vs City of Keene, et al.

I’ve been waiting to make this post, partly because I wanted to make sure it would be the final post about the case.
A Lady Judge, whose name I don’t remember and can’t make out, dismissed the case. It was dismissed after the Hearing on the Motion to Dismiss because the court claims I supposedly “failed to state a claim upon which relief may be granted.” The Judge did not adress the immunity claimed by the defense, nor did she mention Article 10 which states there are not to be two classes of men.

Her order can be viewed below: (more…)

Stealing Free Speech

This past Thursday Keene resident James Walters arrived home around 3pm and noticed Keene PD’s Officer Short sitting in his driveway. Officer Short said, “I’d like to ask you about this sign” pointing to an anti-Romney political sign.

Walters asked, “am I being detained?”

Short said, “no.”

Walters asked Officer Short to leave his property and after a brief back and forth, Short asked for a receipt showing proof of purchase or the sign would be taken. Walters informed Officer Short that if the sign was taken, lawyers and the media would be contacted.

Walters said, “Short told me that the Attorney General personally called the Keene PD demanding them to take this particular sign.”

According to Walters, Officer Short then made a phone call, and took the sign.
Calls to the Attorney General’s Office were not immediately returned.
