The BEARCAT Arrives in Keene – Feeling safer yet?

BEARCATDespite a supermajority of Keeniacs opposing the “tank”, as Mayor Kendall Lane excitedly called it, the city council overwhelmingly did as they were asked by Keene Police and accepted the armored Lenco BEARCAT killing machine from the Department of Homeland Security. Now it has arrived and is ready to be used to crush your freedom – I mean to rescue people from floods and save people in burning homes.

Keene police only have the best of intentions for the vehicle – the thermal imaging equipment that can see through walls will only be used to find people in fires – they would NEVER use it to try to find cannabis grow operations. Sure, the BEARCAT has gunports all around the vehicle – but don’t worry – they’ll be using those for… um…

Gun bans on school campuses really work!

Keene’s big violent crime news from over the weekend is being picked up by multiple news sources. A local man has been accused of pulling a gun on someone at a party and on Keene State College campus. The accused says that he was the one who had a gun pulled on him and that he had called the police at the party.

Wait, I thought carrying firearms on campuses in NH is prohibited! How about that… laws aren’t actually magic words that make people do what the lawmakers want!

Hearing on No Trespass Order – Raw Court Footage

The ridiculous no trespass order issued against several activists banning them from the courthouse forever was challenged yesterday morning by heroic attorney Jon Meyer of Manchester.

Most trials are pretty dull, but this one has lots of laughs and absurdities as the Sheriff attempts to defend his shoddy and unconstitutional order and the women that work at the court claim they were scared of peaceful, singing activists who dared ask them questions!

Judge Burke came off as objective today and even interjected thoughtful questions. Enjoy the video, there are gold nuggets of content in here:

UPDATE: The video has now had the traffic noise removed.

Palmer Trespass Arrest – Pretrial Motions Filed

As you know I was recently arrested in Palmer, MA for recording video in town hall. The pretrial hearing is on 12/10 at 9am in Palmer district court, however I hope to bypass that, as typically pretrials are a waste of everyone’s time. I’m filing a motion to do that as well is filing for discovery, a jury trial, recording, and to dismiss/strike the case. For those of you that enjoy the legal end of things, here’s what I’m mailing out today:

Dems Fail to Unseat Mark Warden! FSP Vindicated.

Mark Warden, a Free State Project early mover, has been re-elected! As I reported here recently, Warden was targeted for defeat by democrats in a national campaign to win two key races in NH:

The race matters, wrote the DLCC, because the outcome could indicate whether the state’s Republican-leaning districts are in play this cycle and if the Free State Project has staying power.

Well, I guess the FSP has staying power! According to the AP, Warden won re-election in a district where the libertarian candidate got an amazing 23% of the vote in a three-way-race. Warden probably would have done better without the libertarian candidate in the race, but still handily won with 42% compared to the democrat’s 35%.

Other Free Staters won statewide including Mike Sylvia in Belmont and Joel Winters and Emily Sandblade in Manchester. Check Seth Cohn’s election results post for more!
