Yesterday, during a successful “People’s BBQ” event put on by Robin Hood of Keene, in which at least a dozen hungry people were fed delicious pasta and tacos, twenty angry locals came out to hold signs for about 45 minutes. Many of the signs were in protest of Free Keene and its founder, me, Ian Freeman.
Robin Hooder Garret Ean attempted to converse with the protesters, as did others, including non-activists and people from outside the area. However, the group exhibited childish, cult-like behavior and refused to speak.
If of course, they were to actually talk to the people they hate, they might find out that we’re not so different after all and may discover that their fellow “STOP FREE KEENE!!!” group members have been lying or spreading misinformation about the liberty activists. Thus, it’s critical to stay silent to avoid any possible cognitive dissonance or revealing of ignorance.
Regardless, what an amazing success for Robin Hood! You know you’re doing something right when a mob of people comes out to protest! I love the critics! Thank you guys for spending so much time and effort validating what we do here at FK. Keep up the great work and see you soon!

Phat Stuff’s Mat Boardman, the employee that was there when the DEA came to rob the place on Wednesday, spoke to me today via facebook and informed me that the local smoke shop plans to rebuild, saying, “we are going to use this tragedy as motivation to rebuild…bigger and better than it already was”.
Today, activists chalked on the sidewalk in front of Phat Stuff in protest of the DEA’s aggression and later gathered for a 420 in remembrance of lost liberties.
Yesterday, the DEA raided Phat Stuff, the head shop on Main St. in Keene. This video chronicles four hours of the raid in 17 minutes. In the footage, multiple agents’ faces are revealed, including two masked men and several agents are confronted about their crimes against humanity. As Free Keene blogger Rich Paul puts it in the video, “Keene, New Hampshire doesn’t seem to be afraid anymore. We’re sick of it.”
Here’s Free Keene’s article with photos and more details, including the warrant.
It will be interesting to see – out of 200 warrants served by the DEA yesterday in their nationwide crackdown, how many other areas had the response that Keene did. How many of them are on video? Union Leader reporter Meghan Pierce was on the scene yesterday and made Keene liberty activists the other focus of her story about the raid. Thanks, Meghan!
KEENE — Downtown head shop Phat Stuff was included in a Drug Enforcement Administration nationwide synthetic drug raid Wednesday.
“We’re targeting every level of the designer synthetic drug market in the U.S., wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, the whole gamut,” said DEA spokesman Rusty Payne. (more…)
