A couple of weeks ago, Free Talk Live host Mark Edge pledged to donate $10 to St. Jude Children’s Hospital for every signer of the Free State Project received by the end of April. I pledged to match his $10, as did FTL listener Michael January. The FSP racked up 52 signers in the timeframe, so now over $1,500 is being donated to St Jude! Remember state representative Cynthia Chase who famously said, “Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today.“? She and state rep Chuck Weed, both “D”-rated by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, are not running for re-election this year!
In a report by the Keene Sentinel’s Kyle Jarvis both reps cite frustrations with the system and their fellow reps. Weed suggests that he’s upset at his fellow Democrats because they won’t get behind other taxes, like an income tax,
“I’m very disappointed with Republicans, but also in the Democrats,” he said. His fellow party members are not willing “to talk about key issues that face New Hampshire … being most important to me, a fair tax structure. They’re afraid to bring it up, or even discuss it, because they think that means you’ll lose the next election.”
Chase also cites frustrations with the atmosphere in Concord,
“I find the situation in Concord frustrating at times. I feel very much like a square peg being forced into a round hole. I just don’t fit the mold up there. I hesitate to point my finger at anyone because it’s not their fault, it’s me.
Naturally, the more liberty-oriented people come here as part of the Free State Project, the more frustrating things will become for those who wish to control others. Already, anti-liberty reps are leaving office because they are having too much difficulty passing increases in government. Now that liberty media like Ridley Report and Free Keene are on their cases and exposing them publicly, that can’t make things very comfortable for them. So, they’re quitting, which is a big opportunity for liberty-loving people to help elect someone more freedom-oriented!
Liberty is possible here in New Hampshire, but we need your help.
Seamus O’Connor and his wife, Carolyn Hanks have lived in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire for a few years now. Both have claimed participation in the Free State Project, but have also been long time critics of Free Keene bloggers, both belonging to a large “STOP FREE KEENE!!!” group on facebook. On April 
23 of 2014, Seamus uploaded a video titled, “Garret”, which consisted of several repeated explicit threats of violence directed at Garret Ean. Beginning the monologue with, “Garret, I’m gonna kick your ass, you mutherfucker…”, the narrator goes on to repeat the “kick your ass” line, interspersed with references to a rough childhood, and expectations of a non-response to such violence by local authorities. Looks like Keene isn’t the only place where the bureaucrats are getting greedy. The Union Leader reports that Manchester’s aldermen will next week vote on proposed rate increases and longer hours for Manch’s parking meters.
As in Keene, Manch business owners and downtown patrons are upset. However, it appears Manch’s political process has come down to the final vote on the proposal, while Keene’s is already facing major opposition and its process has only just begun. The proposed ordinances have yet to be read to the council or even to the appropriate committee. Stay tuned here to Free Keene for the latest.
Local computer repair / networking business owner Michael Gordon refuses to take the plea on an “Uninspected Vehicle” charge. Here’s the video from his “pre-trial conference where state trooper Scott Ellis attempts to get Michael to take a plea (that’s essentially the purpose of a pre-trial conference). Michael refuses the plea and so the case will go to trial.
In this RAW video, former city council candidate Bradford Hutchingson encounters Graham Colson and Rich Paul on Main St in early April. Bradford aka “King of Keene” asks for change over and over and sticks his face in Graham’s camera (he did the same thing in this video with Dave Ridley). Bradford’s behavior probably has something to do with the continuous accusation against area activists that we are “shoving” cameras in people’s faces. I’ve never put a camera near someone’s face, let alone shoved it at anyone. I’ve never seen other activists with cameras disrespect people’s personal space, either.
Graham shows again that he is capable of deescalating a violent situation very well, though the conversation does get heated and loud. Graham is a good activist and has been and will get better with time. Here’s the video, much of which is very funny, thanks to Free Keene blogger Rich Paul’s role:
