Black Sheep Rising – Episode 11

In this week’s episode we discuss tactics on beating speeding tickets, the ever increasing warnings coming from both the right and left concerning a certain strain of libertarianism, Homeland security raids on massage parlors and happy endings and how much to pay for them.

Free State Project President Demands Apology from Concord City, PD

Free State ProjectHere is the statement from Free State Project President, Carla Gericke:  The Concord NH Police Department has made false and misleading statements in a grant application for $258,024 in federal funds from the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) to receive a Lenco Bearcat armored vehicle, hereinafter the “Tank.”

The DHS grant application states: “The State of New Hampshire’s experience with terrorism slants primarily towards the domestic type. We are fortunate that our State has not been victimized from a mass casualty event from an international terrorism strike however on the domestic front, the threat is real and here. Groups such as the Sovereign Citizens, Free Staters and Occupy New Hampshire are active and present daily challenges. Outside of officially organized groups, several homegrown clusters that are anti-government and pose problems for law enforcement agencies.”

Gericke_Carla2008[1]As president of the Free State Project (“FSP”), a NH-based non-profit organization with the sole mission of attracting 20,000 pro-freedom people to the Granite State, I am alarmed and appalled at the cleverly worded insinuation that the FSP is a domestic terrorist threat, or that “Free Staters” are “active and present daily challenges” to the Concord Police Department.

Individuals who sign up for the FSP generally subscribe to the non-aggression principle, an ethical stance which asserts that "aggression" is inherently illegitimate. "Aggression" is defined as the initiation of physical force against persons or property, the threat of such, or fraud upon persons or their property. Our website specifically states: "Anyone who promotes violence, racial hatred, or bigotry is not welcome." (more…)

Salon.com Story Discusses Keene BEARCAT Saga

20090817_salondotcom_190x190[1]Keene activists made history in 2012 when we stood up against the BEARCAT for the first time ever, as acknowledged by Salon in this excellent piece on police militarization. (Actually an excerpt from Radley Balko’s new book.) The detailed story focuses on the outrage of the insane “War on Drugs” that brought on the militarization of the police in the first place – the specter of “terrorism” has merely furthered those aims. They also focus on the police’s penchant for ruining a good time, like back in 2005 when camo-clad storm troopers raided a Utah rave, even swooping in via helicopter and terrorizing and attacking the peaceful ravers. That, in addition to several stories of a police-state in action paint a detailed picture of the insane situation we find ourselves. Balko’s piece wraps by covering various court decisions further advancing the police state.

It’s a bleak picture. Anyone paying attention for the last decade or two has seen it – a militarized police state is on the rise. What are you going to do about it? Share a status on facebook? For those willing to stand in peace for liberty, the solution is the Free State Project. The cowardly police consider the peaceful free staters to be domestic terrorists – that’s because their legitimacy is in jeopardy thanks to us. Come join the fun!

Will David Lauren Acknowledge There Was No Victim and Thus No Right to Demand Payment?

UPDATE: JULY 31 1:09am

Just before 4pm today I dropped-off this note addressed to David Lauren at the Cheshire County Attorney office.

I had previously called and left a voicemail with Lauren and inquired how best to point out to him some content I think relevant to the threat he and his colleagues have levied at me for the victimless act of parking my truck on a clear street.

The post I indicated in the note is this post: http://KeeneCopBlock.org/386

BEARCAT Breaks Into National News Again – This Time It’s Concord

BEARCATAs reported here yesterday, the Concord police are looking to get a BEARCAT to help them crush the activists of the Free State Project and Occupy NH. Here’s a roundup of some of the press this new Concord news is receiving:

Sadly, the Concord city council in 2012 voted unanimously for the police to seek the grant in the first place. Will any Concord city councilors change their mind after the community makes clear their opposition? Time will tell.

Longtime readers of this blog know that the first BEARCAT showdown between the peaceful activists and the militaristic police state was in 2011-2012 in Keene. (more…)
