FSP Participant Neal Conner was recently interviewed by a Fox News correspondent after he advertised his car for bitcoin, and the Concord Monitor recently reported on the wide range of goods and services available for bitcoin. However, in what is believed to be the first time a car has sold for bitcoin in New Hampshire, vlogger and new mover Robert Mathias (aka Voluntaryist Rebel) purchased a 2006 Nissan Sentra from Free Keene blogger and radio host Darryl W. Perry using bitcoin.

The past couple weeks have seen some drastic moves by the United States Government and the US Global Illicit Financial Team. Starting with the DHS blocking and seizing Dwolla accounts that were linked to Mt. Gox a little more than two weeks ago, the scene was set for more of the same. The crime in question: Money Laundering and not registering as a money-transmitting service.Seized5_HR

This past week the witch hunt continued with Liberty Reserve being the next suspect. Liberty Reserve is a Costa Rica based online virtual currency service similar to PayPal. Founder, Arthur Budovsky, was arrested in Spain and was one of six indicted in connection with Liberty Reserve. The indictment included a ludicrous claim that the service laundered, “more than $6 billion in criminal proceeds” and was “one designed to help criminals conduct illegal transactions and launder the proceeds of their crimes” — essentially accusing most of the users of being involved in criminal activities.

Among the legitimate customers of Liberty Reserve is ePay Cards, a service that functioned like an online pre-paid MasterCard or Visa. Mitver Holdings owns ePay Cards and has $28,000 USD tied up in Liberty Reserve accounts at the time of the shutdown. This is not a new territory for Mr. Budovsky, in 2006 he was found guilty for operating Gold Age from his Brooklyn, New York apartment. My latest project is just getting started! Neocash Radio is a weekly podcast and more that focuses on the ever changing alternative-currency marketplace. Led by Darren and myself, we hope to provide information and news on a variety of platforms. Whether you are a bitcoin junkie who wants the cutting edge of cryptocurrency news or a newcomer to the bitcoin who just wants to learn the ropes, we’ve got you covered.

Manchester is the home to many bitcoin start-ups and a growing community of miners. It is only natural that a podcast would fit into the scene and broadcast these exciting developments to the world. I hope to bring my media experience and marketing talents to bear and make the show an international hit!

In our 3rd episode we interview Jon from the successful Bitcoinstore.com and the an owner of the worlds first bitcoin ATM, Zach Harvey from Lamassu BTC Ventures.

MARV is Being Raffled!

UPDATE JUNE 24TH:

Congrats to David Blizzard who is now MARV’s new owner!

Overall 396 raffle tickets were sold – about 3/4 of sales coming from PorcFest attendees. David had snagged his three tickets – including the one randomly selected by Ademo Freeman the last night of PorcFest – online.

I just spoke with David on the phone – he plans to keep MARV looking as-is (a rolling billboard for liberty) and use it for vacationing, etc.

David calls northern GA home so if you’re in the area keep your eyes peeled!
