Alleged Free Staters Win At Least 15 Seats in State House

Free State ProjectAccording to a handy list compiled by “Free State Project Watch“, a project by pro-state group “Granite State Progress“, at least 15 people they alleged to be Free State Project participants have won the 2014 general election!!!

This is huge news. The previous counts of Free Staters in the state house were 12 in 2010, 11 in 2012, and now at least 15! It’s impressive that so many have won elected office already and the official move for the Free State Project has yet to even happen. (The FSP move doesn’t officially start until we reach 20,000 participants and we’re currently over 16,000.)

Not only that, but it’s extra impressive in that the FSP haters put in quite a bit of time, money, and effort to try to stop us. Untold thousands of dollars were spent on hitpiece flyers sent to countless households “outing” candidates as “Free Staters”.

Sure, some candidates lost, but others, like Free State Project participant and democrat Elizabeth Edwards in Manchester, got first place. Edwards even got more votes than did the incumbent!

I don’t know everyone on the list provided by GSP, so presuming it’s accurate – they claim to have done their homework – then it’s safe to say that at least 15 Free Staters are victorious this year, which is a new record high!

If that wasn’t enough good news, the majority of New Hampshire Liberty Allianceendorsed candidates won tonight as well!  (NHLA-endorsed candidates vote for liberty more often than not – they aren’t necessarily principled libertarians.)

Are you still living outside of New Hampshire? How did the libertarians do in your area? Likely they weren’t even on the ballot or did very poorly. Why not move to where liberty has a chance? Move to New Hampshire and join over 1,600 early movers with the Free State Project and help us achieve liberty in our lifetime!

  1. We’ve already got Article 7, which places the federal gov’t subordinate to NH governance. Ask the former Wolfeboro police chief how good it was ignoring that law.

  2. All of NH should be enslaved working half a year to pay taxes to a bankrupt federal government because some company has some sales.

  3. you have 15 representatives wirth FSP affiliation in state house and less than 1500 FSP participants in NH. That’s 1 state representative for less than 100 FSP participants. Extrapolate this number and the result is, that you will have a Free Stater majority in the House when the FSP’s great move of 20,000 liberty lovers to NH is finalized. And that doesn’t even take into account the non-FSP liberty lovers and libertarian leaning representatives, where you have more than 100 of them already in the state house. So by the end of the Free State Project you will have a NH political system massively dominated by libertarians. 🙂

  4. So you think you can see in to thee future, what other predictions of yours have come true? Can you bend spoons with your mind?

  5. Congratulations to the free state project on their victories playing politics. Now the people of New Hampshire have the privilege of having the golden gun of government turned on by them by free staters. How nice of the free staters to be anointed to violently dominate the populace with the political means. Yay! Another “movement” of politic playing, using violent aggression to force its agenda on its “constituents” for their own good/protection! It really will be different this time, politics can save us if the good guys are in charge. Yay liberty!

  6. To overcome tyranny by becoming the tyrant? If you can’t beat em join em!

  7. And on what evidence do you base your assessment as to its alleged benefit? Is there a principle you use to gauge this “benefit”?

  8. I take it “Communal bond” is a euphemism for “violent aggression”?

  9. nice.

  10. Dude, thanks for your spin on political power, but your philosophical description fits socialists to a “T”-which goes like “Government tyranny is bad, if only WE could do it OUR way”, which is to totally control everybody doing everything. Libertarians want to ELIMINATE or REDUCE government authority. The legislators will have goals like eliminating restrictions on individuals educating their children, defending their rights or starting businesses. Also eliminating or reducing taxes and increasing accountability, such as making public servants liable or taking decisions out of the hands of nameless bureaucrats.

  11. Gee, how did you get to be boss with such poor skills in reading comprehension, punctuation and math? Must be those gubmint schools.

  12. Care to point out exactly what you are saying or is that just some catch phrase you heard someone saying?

  13. Seems like you wish to add nothing to this discussion. you attack the man on the other side of the table instead of attacking what he said. piss poor debate skills. just be honest with everyone and come out and state you have absolutely nothing to add and just wish to try and piss people off.

  14. “Libertarians want to ELIMINATE or REDUCE government authority. The legislators will have goals like eliminating restrictions on individuals educating their children, defending their rights or starting businesses. Also eliminating or reducing taxes and increasing accountability, such as making public servants liable or taking decisions out of the hands of nameless bureaucrats.”

…And they are using the golden gun of government and the “political means” to do so. They are going to use their government authority to eliminate government authority?

  15. true libertarians meaning mainstream libertarians?

  16. ” As with the recent attempt by Scotland to be independent from the UK, you would drum up so much contempt from the people in power that they would blacklist this state from being able to business anywhere outside the borders of NH. The federal government would impose such a high tariff on states who would sell or buy from you it wouldn’t be worth it, that’s assuming they just do not impose an outright embargo.”

So your argument for having the Feds dominate NH is the implicit threat of aggression from the feds?

  17. Yes, but although you call it a threat, one could easily call it looking out for our own interest as well. The Scottish Secession would have hurt England but not for retaliatory actions fiscally and such. You’re saying that NH could Secede and the rest of us should just say “oh well” this is gonna hurt but lets just let them do what they will.” It’s not a realistic approach.

  18. The benefit is not alleged but clearly defined. A case like this would be comparable to the last 14 decision of the US Supreme Court on individual religious liberties. In all but very few examples, the court ruled that the individual religious liberty supersedes that of a law of the books. The latest example was the Hobby Lobby decision. A healthcare mandate was defeated by the owners 1st amendment right of religious practice. This almost always the case. You will see in the near future the attempts of government to force Catholic and other Christians hospitals to force perform abortions be struck down under this same standard. Mark my words, In Houston Texas, the Nazi Mayor withdrew her subpoenas for copies of sermons because someone with some sense in their head told her, “You are going to lose big on this”. I can site more examples, it’s not going to change your mind though.

  19. Maybe you should David, first I would ask that you take a Carnegie course on speaking. I’ve heard you speak in public and write on this blog. A big piece to your success would be dependent on the comprehension of the person you’re talking to. I know what’s trapped in your mind makes sense but you have articulate in a fashion that fluid and logical.

  20. My case in point to the above comment is that what you just written here above this post.

“and if the state can flout the laws……why cant I…. i am suppose to respect the state/laws… i dont see legislators being hauled away in cuffs…why do i get hauled away in cuffs…see…this is core fsp freestaters stuff and you just argued it”
When I read that I have no ability to even guess what you are trying to communicate.

  21. “As with the recent attempt by Scotland to be independent from the UK,
you would drum up so much contempt from the people in power that they
would blacklist this state from being able to business anywhere outside
    the borders of NH…”

There was no suggestion from either side that there would be any restriction on trade post independence, so I’m afraid you are completely mistaken. Stick to examples that you have some knowledge about.

  22. @boss_of_free_keene

I belong to myself.  I took a  vote and it was unanimous, 1 FOR, 0 NAYS.

Who do you belong to ?  How did they get “authority” ?
