Robin Hood of Keene’s Final NH Supreme Court Hearing – VIDEO

Is this the final court hearing in the long saga of the City of Keene vs Robin Hood of Keene? We sure hope so. It’s been defeat after defeat for the evil King and his minions – how will the Supremes rule this time? Stay tuned to Free Keene for the latest. Here’s video of the hearing from earlier this month at the New Hampshire Supreme Court:

Watch as the city’s private attorneys try their best to get the court to approve of their request for an unconstitutional injunction that would infringe on the free speech rights of the “Robin Hooders“, the activists who’ve made international headlines after the city filed suit against us for filling expired parking meters and calling out the parking enforcers for the evil they commit on a daily basis.

The court’s justices, who normally give each side a good grilling in these hearings, seem to only give the city’s attorney a hard time. Free speech attorney Jon Meyer, who has taken the case pro-bono says he’s “cautiously optimistic”. One should not get too sure of one’s position with the court, so we’ll know likely within six months how they have decided on what should be the final appearance in a New Hampshire court.

If they lose, will the City of Keene spend tens-of-thousands more taxpayer dollars to appeal to the federal courts to stop an activity that has basically tapered off on its own? (The city’s own updated suit has dropped four of the six original respondents as they don’t even live in town anymore.) The city gang is notoriously bad at learning their lesson, so it wouldn’t surprise me.

  1. It’s too bad the freekeeners are costing the money being spent by the city attorney.   If they would leave the meter readers alone to do their jobs there would not be a trial. freekeeners and “robin hooders” are cowards and don’t respect a person who is doing their jobs. So they act like bullies.

  2. Didn’t Robin Hood go up against the Prince, not the King?

  3. Jumping Jacks Shut up Jack.

  4. Did you watch the video, @Jumping Jacks?  It seems the NH Supreme Court doesn’t agree with your assessment.

  5. Jumping Jacks Now Jacks, shouldn’t the City of Keene have cut their losses and respected the lower court’s decision in the first place just like you expect the rest us good little citizens to do? I ‘m sure that any other organization with limited financial resources would have done the same. But then there’s no real risk to the City of Keene, now is there Jacks? After all, it’s not their own money that they’re risking, now is it?

  6. Jumping Jacks

…if Dred Scott had just realized the slave owners were “just doing their jobs” they wouldn’t have to waste all that money on a trial.  <sarcasm>

  7. LibertarianLibertyEagle Jumping Jacks You are really tetched.

  8. Intrigare There are appeals.

  9. Drac Vermell Jumping Jacks Since you don’t have a job, I know it is very hard for you to understand. The city stands beside their employees.

  10. WEEDA CLAUS Jumping Jacks A very sad response on your part.

  11. Jumping Jacks WEEDA CLAUS But not as sad as these uninspiring Jacksisms you keep relying upon every time WEEDA backs you into a corner with a point that you can’t refute, right Jacks?

  12. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell It’s funny that you should say that, Jacks. Because if you had actually ever owned a business like you’ve claimed, you’d understand that it’s the job of the business owner to serve his customers, not his employees. The taxpayers are supposed to be the City of Keene’s customers, now aren’t they Jacks?

  13. Drac Vermell Jumping Jacks Happy employees are more productive. Until you get a job that doesn’t require you to say, “Would you like fries with that” You will never get the business model of success.

  14. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell There you have it, Drac.  According to Jacks, the City of Keene took this to the Supreme Court in order to make its employees more productive. 😀 I wonder if the NH Supreme Court realizes the City of Keene considers the court an instrument to increase employee productivity?

  15. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell If by productive government employees, you mean effective thieves, then you might be on to something there Jacks. But stealing from paying customers is really not serving the customers’ interests, now is it?
Oh, and Jacks? You don’t really believe that pretending to be a successful businessman in these comments sections really counts as a legitimate mensuration of success, now do you?

  16. Intrigare Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell Indeed, Intrigare. And inviolate thieves like government employees will always invariably be more productive, now wont’ they? Unfortunately, our dear friend Jacks here places far too much trust in this institution to consider the inevitably negative consequences of such things.

  17. That is correct. It shows how stoned or stupid, or both Free Keene really is.

  18. Milwaukee And Milwaukee is an expert on stupid. He once threatened to rap a man on the head with a ratchet while a video camera recorded him saying it. Fortunately, his dear wife is much smarter than this. She makes sure to deliver her threats when there are no cameras around.

  19. Intrigare Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell So you admit the freekeeners or “robin hooders” are harassing the meter maids thus decreasing productivity. I would think the freekeeners would want to have employees productive because they are always screaming about taxes

freekeeners consider the court and instrument of getting back at the government. The funny thing is every trial costs the tax payers money.

  20. Drac Vermell Jumping Jacks Peaches, you are puting words in my mouth that were never there. As far as my business goes, I didn’t work hard and become successful so you can make ridiculous assumptions. I did it for me and the need for alcohol and drug rehab units. To bad you have done nothing to even compare to the success I have had.

  21. Drac Vermell Jumping Jacks WEEDA CLAUS You sound upset. It sounds like you have no response so you come back with this childish rant about nothing.

  22. Jumping Jacks Intrigare Drac Vermell

In a rational world, the court would not hold a coercive monopoly.

If an entity (the State) holds a coercive monopoly and that is the only avenue permitted to adjudicate these things, how could the “Free Keeners” use any thing but the court ?

  23. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell Now, now Jacks. Earnestly doubling down on this lie of yours certainly isn’t the sort of action expected from a God-fearing man, now is it? Don’t you think that it’s about time that you confessed? It’s good for the soul you know.

  24. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell Are you sure, Jacks?  It looks a lot like Drac is having fun with you.

  25. Jumping Jacks If only the Sons of Liberty had followed that logic before the Boston Tea Party!  We could still be saying Long Live the Queen!

  26. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell WEEDA CLAUS And yet you replied to it anyway, didn’t you Jacks? If only you would put this much effort into laying your many transgressions to bare. You really should confess, Jacks. It’s not too late you know.

  27. WEEDA CLAUS Jumping Jacks Intrigare Drac Vermell Don’t throw out that BS. freekeeners do not follow their own advice. They fight things in court and mostly lose. Parking tickets, speeding tickets and fighting them in court is a waist of resources.

  28. Drac Vermell Jumping Jacks WEEDA CLAUS It would appear again, you are visibly upset. I believe it’s you who should confess your sins and transgressions.  I’m sure you being the freekeene troll has put quite a few skeletons in your closet.

  29. Jumping Jacks WEEDA CLAUS Intrigare Drac Vermell Now Jacks, if these activists are fighting their tickets in court, then how is it that they’re not following their own advice?

  30. Jumping Jacks Drac Vermell WEEDA CLAUS How can you be so sure, Jacks? It’s equally likely that I’ve been laughing at you all this time. After all, it’s really hilarious that with all the information readily available to you, and right at your fingertips, you still lacked the patience and intelligence to cultivate even a moderately convincing lie. What do you think that says about you, Jacks?

  31. Jumping Jacks Now Jacks, its not fair to call history BS.  History can teach us a lot of things, such as how to resist tyranny.  It looks like FreeKeene is doing quite well in that regard.

I don’t think that’s ever done by making it easier for the tyrants to collect.  Do you Jacks?  On the contrary, the more difficult we make it for taxes to be collected, the more legitimate means of raising funds will be sought.  This means offering value for value, Jacks.  I’m sure you know all about that as a business owner– you wouldn’t be in business very long if you threatened your customers would you?

And yes, throughout history the very government that purportedly exists to protect people have become the people’s greatest threat.  It’s naive to believe our government is any exception.  The Founding Fathers certainly didn’t see our government as the exception.  Do you, Jacks?

  32. Intrigare Jumping Jacks Absolutely wonderfully written, Intrigare. I’m right on the edge of my seat here. I’m anticipating a lot of Jacksims in response to this one.

  33. Drac Vermell Thanks but where did Jacks go? I know he has his drug rehab to attend to, but I thought he and I were really starting to bond.

  34. Intrigare Drac Vermell È un uomo che ha basato la carriera, sull’arte di intrigare.

  35. Hi Drac, I’m mean Intrigare.

  36. Absolutely wonderfully written Intrigare, I mean Drac.

  37. Now now drac, Intrigare seems to be basing his whole career at the same thing that you do, trolling.

  38. DRACdouble Is that you, Jacks?  Oh I knew you couldn’t stay away for long. Speaking of careers, how many addicts recovered today thanks to you?

  39. È che si, drac?
