As Governor Bans Assembling Over Ten People, Nobody to Lead Gathering at NH State House on April 1st at 2pm!

“Nobody”, the New Hampshire candidate for governor challenging incumbent Chris Sununu in the republican primary has already gotten coverage in the Boston Globe for his announcement of an event to challenge Sununu’s outrageous ban on free assembly of over 50 people. Actually, as I am writing this article, Sununu just announced at a press conference that he’s now restricting gatherings to no more than TEN people. We’re still waiting on the written “order”, but it will likely be posted here to the governor’s website later.

Last week, Sununu announced multiple “executive orders” that destroyed significant freedoms in New Hampshire, like the freedom to run a restaurant or bar as he threatened business owners if they dare to allow customers to eat or drink in their establishments. The hospitality industry is severely damaged as a result, with all servers out of work, volume of orders significantly down, and many restaurants choosing to close down completely as a result. It is an attack on the right to serve our neighbors who wish to take whatever risk and go out to eat. People who wish to quarantine themselves are free to do so without a “order” from the governor but those who wish to continue living a normal life or run their business are being threatened by state agents if they do, all under the excuse of “public health”.

Now-Illegal Gathering of Over a Dozen in Keene

Now-Illegal Gathering of Over a Dozen in Keene, Yesterday

Another of his executive orders trampled on the basic human right of assembly – being able to get together with other people. This weekend, Nobody announced an event to challenge Sununu’s order by violating it with over 50 people gathering on the state house steps on Wednesday April 1st at 2pm. While we were pretty sure at the time we could get at least fifty-one people to come to the state house, now that it’s been reduced to ten people it’s a certainty that we can do it, as this weekend sixteen people gathered in Keene for our regular “Social Sunday” meeting.

On his official campaign blog, ElectNobody.com, Nobody announced the civil disobedience event and reminded people where the state’s supposed motto came from: “Live free or die; death is not the worst of evils.” – General John Stark. Before last week, New Hampshire was not a free state, but now all illusions of freedom have been completely wiped away and it’s become all-out tyranny. Something must be done. It’s time to stand up for the freedom to assemble.

Here is an event to which you can RSVP at Liberty.menu – please do. Bring your friends, signs, and your video cameras. See you at the state house steps at 2pm, Wednesday April 1st. Maybe we’ll go up and pay a visit to Sununu’s office while we’re there too!

Now you can subscribe to Free Keene via email!

  1. I know where I’ll be on April 1st at 2PM. And yea- I will be risking life and limb and maybe even freedom for the sake of saving freedom. Risk of death is a poor excuse to suspend liberty and I’m under no delusion that the risk isn’t real. However 4-10 million people is just the price you pay sometimes for being free.

  2. What is wrong with you people? Those executive orders come from people who know a lot more about this pandemic then some old burnt out fool drug addict. The risks you people are taking shows stupidity in every step. This gathering has nothing to prove. I’m sure it will be treated as such. This gathering has nothing to do with freedom. It is just another poorly planned event to try and give those who are in power a middle finger just because you can. You’ll never get into Sununu’s office and probably not the building.

You are puting yourself and your community at more risk. Why? Why can’t you just step back and help the communities you live in. The only thing you know about the Pandemic is what you have filtered though your tiny brain and then brain washed yourself to believe. Businesses are closing down. There is nothing anyone can do about it. What’s more important, your life and your family and friends life, or the almighty buck?

I have seen what the possible regulations and laws that will be enacted, and policies coming down the road. If you think your rights are being trampled on now, Just wait. The more people who get sick the tighter the laws are going to be. Since you people are into freedom, you are going about it the wrong way. What gives you the right to infect and jeopardize peoples lives? Your rights certainly don’t trump my rights or the rights of others. As Spock said, “The needs of the many out need the needs of the few”. If you get sick or get other’s sick, where will your rights be then? while you are in ICU on ventilator and that is only if they have any available. The people supposedly gathering can lose their lives and you will have not changed anything. You won’t even be remembered for it. You are proving the governor right to placing these restrictions and enacting specific laws.

My clinics are totally locked down and any new admits are going to be heavily screened and even isolated. I can’t get flu testing kits. Do you know they cost around $60.00 each? and they are only used if someone is sick already. I can’t let my patients socialize with each other for long periods of time. This Pandemic is affecting my business as well. My job and my coworkers roles have changed. Addiction medicine is still priority but with the pandemic, we have been changing to prevention and specific care models so our patients and us are secure and safe as possible. Some patient’s will be turned away which is really sad.

This stunt isn’t going to give RNP any positives. It will show everyone how much RNP is not for the American people.

Ian you have seen how other people responded to your last article. These people normally agree with you in one way or another. Now they are not agreeing with you. I seriously doubt you will get 50 people at this playground event. I hope for you and everyone’s safety but that can only go so far at this time.

  3. kk – “I know where I’ll be on April 1st at 2PM. And yea- I will be risking life and limb and maybe even freedom for the sake of saving freedom. Risk of death is a poor excuse to suspend liberty”

What a noble gesture says the sheep herder to the sheep .lol It isn’t your life and limb that you are risking it’s everyone else’s you may infect. You cannot honestly say you haven’t been infected. You cannot say that even when this foolish get together happens. You don’t have the right to infect others.

” However 4-10 million people is just the price you pay sometimes for being free”.
Who gives you the right to say who will live and who will die? Where did you get that right from?

If your post is just sarcasm, then say so. If it’s real, then you are just as stupid as the rest of those throwing this shindig.

Let’s see how you exercise your rights when you are on a ventilator. having a garden hose shoved up your dick so they can monitor how well your kidneys are working. The Dr. telling your family you just may not make it, or if you do, permanent lung damage. You won’t be able to smoke your wacky tobaccy to get high. Come to think of it, RNP and the rest of the idiots puting this on may suffer the same fate.

I really hope you are not this stupid. You won’t be remembered for your efforts.

  4. “What gives you the right to infect and jeopardize peoples lives? Your rights certainly don’t trump my rights or the rights of others.”

No activist is claiming a right to harm anybody. We are peaceful. You can hunker down and that is the safest thing to do right now and you probably should. If you are doing what is being ordered or otherwise advised by non-government types in particular you have nothing to worry about. You should distance yourself from others particularly if you are among the more vulnerable in our population. There will be people in attendance with N95 respirators and who’ve been preparing long before this event was organized or before the state even thought this was a threat. Nobody is violating your rights. Life has risks, and you can choose to interact with others, and expose yourself to those risks, or take the safest approach, or for that matter do something in-between depending on your level of risk tolerance.

“Why can’t you just step back and help the communities you live in. ”

We are doing that already. We are helping our community by stepping up to the bullies in government who are trying to take away all of our freedoms and rights. They’ve passed bills that will redistribute MORE stolen monies to others. The left and right are using this as an opportunity to steal and implement programs that will undermine the future economic prosperity of all Americans. They have undermined our businesses. They have undermined our livelihoods. They have undermined our lives.

“The needs of the many out need the needs of the few”

    Dictator in training.

“If you get sick or get other’s sick, where will your rights be then?”

Some will live and some will die, but most of us are keeping a distance from one another. The reason for this protest is that they’re threatening use of ACTUAL VIOLENCE against PEACEFUL people. While some may pose a risk that is true of EVERYBODY every time someone gets in a car and drives down the road. You don’t propose banning driving just because there is some risk. If the government were merely ASKING and ADVISING people on what to do and those demands were reasonable there would be no protest and no risk of furthering the spread of this virus because of said protest. We’re heroes for stepping up to the plate and organizing a protest against the tyranny that is here.

“while you are in ICU on ventilator and that is only if they have any available. ”

Yea- people over 65 aren’t going to have access to ventilators soon. It’s unfortunate. Some governments do seem to be taking action to fix the problem of government by removing the regulations that caused this problem in the first place. So in some sense that is good.

“The people supposedly gathering can lose their lives and you will have not changed anything.”

This is the hype. Sure SOME people will die. But that is part of life. We are all trying to minimize our exposure and the risk to those in need, but to use violence (which is what the government does when it passes a law or issues an order or an arrest is made) to achieve that objective is not ethical, particularly when you are doing it to people who pose no imminent threat to anyone else. Don’t get me wrong. There is a risk, but it’s a risk we’re all facing and you are accepting that risk when you make that decision to go take that trip to the store to pick up groceries too. If you decided NOT to do that then you are safe.

“You are proving the governor right to placing these restrictions and enacting specific laws. ”

How on earth are we proving the governor right by organizing this protest in defiance? It was his ORDER (threat of violence) that caused this protest. Nobody would be protesting an advisory recommending businesses close or people to stay at home. Jesus christ. How do you not understand that there are people out there who are NOT pushovers. We as a society can each individually make our own decisions. There are lots of really dumb people, but not every risky action is dumb, when the threat to ones liberty is significant, as is the case here. Sometimes risking life and limb is important and that is what is happening here.

“This stunt isn’t going to give RNP any positives. It will show everyone how much RNP is not for the American people. ”

This stunt isn’t for you. It’s for other like-minded individuals. It sends the message that New Hampshire is where the people who want freedom live. Where people who want freedom should move. It’s where the people who prioritize freedom over safety aught to be. If you didn’t want that well, maybe you shouldn’t have made the state motto “live free or die”.

“Now they are not agreeing with you. I seriously doubt you will get 50 people at this playground event”

That’s not true. 50% of us think it’s crazy risky. It is risky. I’ll give ya that. But the other 50% are insane enough either because they accept the risk, or because they’re not accepting of the risk relative to the economic impact. An economic impact will result in deaths as well. But those with tiny minds such as yours can’t conceive of what happens when you shut an economy down. I’ll give you a hint: It will eventually lead to starvation. How much food do you have stored? Cause you can’t keep a total lock down up for 24 months. At some point people will need to get out and grow food, transport that food, and pick up that food. At some point your computer will fail. At some point you’ll need to go get a new one. You can hunker down for a while, but probably not as long as will be required without causing massive collateral damage. Some economic activities MUST continue.

  5. I think government IS controlling you guys! Know why? Because they are using reverse psychology, and y’all fall for it every time! If youse were really independent you wouldn’t be inlocked is some kind of chess game with big brother.

  6. you inconsiderate cunts!

  7. “You cannot honestly say you haven’t been infected”

No, I can’t. But I have been in hot zones and have not come down with anything. Nor have the people whom were with me that took reasonable steps to protect themselves infected either. I also took reasonable precautions even in venues with lots of people. The thing is we kept our distance in the hot zones. You can take reasonable precautions. We didn’t take a plane to get to our destination. We didn’t get close enough to other people that they’d cough on us. People who were sick weren’t going out to the events we were. People were more or less being reasonably conscious of the fact they were in a hot zone.

“If it’s real, then you are just as stupid as the rest of those throwing this shindig.”

I am entirely serious. Millions have died in times of war fighting for freedom. I may not be fighting in a war, but I am fighting for freedom. If you don’t care about being a slave to the state that is fine with me. Go be a slave, but don’t force it on the rest of us. That is ALL we are asking here.

“The Dr. telling your family you just may not make it, or if you do, permanent lung damage”

It’s a risk I’m willing to take and it is my risk to take as it is for everybody who partakes. This is the primary risk I think most of us are facing, but I’ll go a step farther and say I have a compromised immune system and am at a higher risk of death than most who will be attending this protest. This is assuming I get infected anyway, which admittedly could really happen.

“You won’t be remembered for your efforts.”

I didn’t do it so people would remember me. I’m not doing it for the glory and fame as so many delusional solders have gone to war because of. I have no problem with others taking the glory and fame. What I am after is greater freedom for all. The particular freedom I desire isn’t happening anyway, but that doesn’t mean that others should suffer or I should be lazy just because I don’t get what I want. In some respects I get what I want to some degree by others getting the freedoms they want. Thus I partake in any effort for greater freedom that becomes available and encourage people to be more open to freedoms that may not initially appear good and even some which may backfire.

  8. There is a really easy solution to the problem here- those who don’t want to be infected- stay home. There is risk to interacting with other people! I’m refraining from going out and so can you (minus the protest I intend to partake in, but I will take precautions to avoid infection to whatever degree they may or may not help).

  9. Jumping Jacks ‘Those executive orders come from people who know a lot more about this pandemic then some old burnt out fool drug addict.’

are you referring to Rich Paul or Ron Paul?

‘this gathering has nothing to do with freedom. It is just another poorly planned event to try and give those who are in power a middle finger just because you can’

more like an attention seeking tactic similar to Christian fundamentalists blaming every natural disaster on gay marriage, but libertarians aren’t the only ones doing this because I saw militant vegans blaming COVID-19 on the consumption of meat & using it as an excuse to push meat free diets etc, seems every crazy & extremist is at it.

  10. At least the douchebros of the FSP/FK keep to themselves.

  11. zx81 – “are you referring to Rich Paul or Ron Paul?”

    I’m referring to both.

Christian fundamentalists have no say over things of this nature. I agree with you, some are radical and they blame everything on others who live their lives contrary to there beliefs.

What people don’t understand have a tendency to create and place blame because of their beliefs. They want to be heard.

  12. kk – “I have been in hot zones and have not come down with anything. Nor have the people whom were with me that took reasonable steps to protect themselves infected either”.

And exactly where are these supposed hot zones you have been in? You still could be a carrier of covid-19 and you just don’t know it yet. You are trying to convince yourself that you can take these risks because nothing bad happens to you. You can’t run from a virus. You can take every precaution known to man and still get infected.

“It’s a risk I’m willing to take and it is my risk to take as it is for everybody who partakes. This is the primary risk I think most of us are facing”.

It isn’t just you taking a risk. You are potentially at risk for spreading the virus to other people. Those other people don’t deserve catching something from you. Especially when you know the risks and how to minimize the infection rate.

“What I am after is greater freedom for all” “I partake in any effort for greater freedom that becomes available and encourage people to be more open to freedoms that may not initially appear good and even some which may backfire”.

This pandemic has nothing to do with “freedom” How free are you going to be lying in a make shift hospital bed on a ventilator? How are you going to enjoy your freedom then? What this gathering is all about is getting a bunch of people together in a group greater then 10, and for what? You are not going to change anything. You won’t be recognized in a positive light. This could piss people off because you are doing an activity that could potentially infect others.

You don’t have the right to jeopardize another persons health. In this case, your rights do not trump anyone else’s and by doing this Just shows you are not doing anything for your rights. You will be looked at as a bunch of potential carriers that just may infect a whole community and you could face some very serious consequences. Who is going to blame someone for beating the hell out of you because you are posing a greater risk to themselves and others? No one.

  13. “Virus’ have no authorituh over me” idiocy. This moronic attitude against any and all authority is why I left the libertarian movement. They are rebellious teenagers who could not build a free society if their lives depended on it. Those who can actually reason will conclude that going to a large gathering when there is a nasty bug floating around, that can cause permanent harm to the lungs, is simply unwise.

  14. Jumping Jacks.

I can think of no bigger middle finger than the ones the democrats have been giving us. They had the chance to nip this thing in the bud early on by closing the borders but didn’t because staying woke was more important to them than saving lives. Now you want the taxpayers to make all the sacrifices – no questions asked – while they use this crisis to their advantage? I don’t think so, cocksucker.

  15. It’s likely more people will die from alcohol consumption related causes in NH than from this virus.

In the meantime, the State run liquor stores are STILL open, so grab a bottle and celebrate your freedom !
One of the mystery’s of life is how do these scary germs know not to invade a State run liquor store?

It’s likely more people will die from obesity related issues in NH than from this virus.

Twinkie Police are a real possibility according to the NH State “emergency powers” laws which self evidently contradict the “rights” (actually revocable privileges) the State also proclaims you have.

As an aside, rights are supposed to trump statutory laws, but who pays attention to that stuff anymore? A law which contradicts a right, enumerated right or unenumerated right is supposed to be invalid and unenforceable. Uh huh. I’m sure the “oath keepers” etc. will get right on that.

It’s likely more people will die from tobacco related issues in NH than from this virus. The State taxes tobacco products, gee, what a surprise.

The State should at least have the decency to change it’s motto from “Live free or Die” to “Live in fear or die”.

  16. Bob C – I find your statements interesting. This isn’t an alcohol or tobacco issue. This is a pandemic. It affects everyone not just you.

“It’s likely more people will die from obesity related issues in NH than from this virus”

You honestly can’t prove the mortality rate. Look at Italy. Military trucks carting off dead patients. Who to say that won’t happen here?. Remember, the stats of those infected currently are only two months old. We don’t know how many people will die or not die from the virus.

What I see on this article is paranoia and self entitlement. It’s always “how it affects me”. “The state government is profiting from this pandemic”. I feel confident the government it isn’t profiting from this pandemic. Each state and the federal government is releasing large amounts of money for necessary programs needed to continue to operate during this pandemic. Programs you just might end up using.

Predictions are made by those who have the real data in hand. Even they say it is unknown how many people will get this virus and how many will die from this virus. It could mutate and create a even larger problem. New York has over 20,000 cases. Each of these people could have had contact with several hundred people while infected. That is a lot of people.

Changing the motto of the state is a knee jerk reaction. One made in haste and frustration.

  17. @jumping jacks

I am not unconcerned about this virus. Talking about this virus is interesting, but conflating this virus into a self granted license to “temporarily” prohibit rights is something I am talking about. Which new “Patriot acts” will come from this “emergency” ?

Also, I notice you didn’t touch the part about laws cannot trump rights. I should have mentioned that history has shown more deaths result from a Police State than from liberty.

I would define a Police State as one that can remove your rights when it’s operatives want to and punish you for trying to prevent it. How would you define a “Police State” ?

  18. “Each state and the federal government is releasing large amounts of money for necessary programs needed to continue to operate during this pandemic.”

The federal government isn’t going to spend a single dime on this crisis, Jumping Jacks. They’re going to print the money. Just like the Venezuelan government did. Understand the problem now, tit wank?

  19. Bob C – I honestly do not believe any new “patriot acts” will come of this. This isn’t terrorism Of course with the USA the way it is now with the pandemic, I’m not surprised the borders are being closed. It isn’t sue to terrorism but the pandemic.

“I would define a Police State as one that can remove your rights when it’s operatives want to and punish you for trying to prevent it”

I don’t share your thoughts about what a “police state” is. In the US, The last known time a police state was instituted was in 1851. Unfortunately, the word itself has “Taken on an emotional and derogatory meaning” by describing an undesirable state of living characterized by the overbearing presence of the civil authorities”.(wikipedia) I guess that is how I would describe a police state. The word itself reminds me of other words activists have perverse. Media, Journalist,Reporter, Auditor. etc…

I believe it is easy for someone to let their minds go and invent more derogatory statements about the word “police state”. One a thing police state is not, is it isn’t instituted just for punishment and prevention.

At this time I don’t think it is appropriate to panic. I can’t comprehend the total loss of someone’s rights. I believe it would have to be near an apocalypse to get that far. Yes, I believe some rights just maybe put on the back burner during this pandemic. The right to assemble and rights along that line may get shut down. There is a real reason for it. You won’t die or get scared for life if you can’t get together and swap recipes. There is the internet, cellphones, multimedia. Those are good alternatives at this time. It’s better then the consequences one could deal with at this time.

Trump is now saying he wants everything returned to normal, work wise, by Easter. Just the other day he was closing borders, telling people to stay at home. Now he has changed his tone because his businesses are losing money. The almighty buck is his God.

I can’t think of anything else at this time. Thanks for your questions. They got me thinking.

  20. pleae check in your nearest fema camp and enjoy free food and big screen tv’s.
we need to do everyhting we can to support our leaders and his excellency governtor sununo

  21. i just hope i get some bread and circus that’s all..like a 1200 check like they said

  22. @jumping jacks It appears you may have overlooked my most important query about laws and are they subordinate to “rights”.

I’ll try again. Are laws, rules or “executive orders” which violate, suspend or trample a right valid?

I say they aren’t and the government pretends to agree with all it’s sacred literature and constitutions out of one side of its mouth, while violating it out of the other side.

No new Patriot acts? Maybe that level of word smithing isn’t even needed anymore since they’re openly violating rights with their edicts and the stock holmy sheep will be bought of with some inflated dollars thrown into the crowd like rolls of precious toilet paper.

What are their rights cancelling edicts backed up by ? The Power of a Police State. If you don’t believe me, go and publicly try to exercise your “forbidden rights” now and see what happens. Don’t look for any help from the Oath Sleepers either, ain’t one ’em going to do jack shit but polish their knob and pray to get a fat retirement.

You really don’t have any rights, you have revocable privileges.

  23. Bob C- ‘I’ll try again. Are laws, rules or “executive orders” which violate, suspend or trample a right valid”?

Yes, they are but only in certain circumstances. If it’s necessary to help the communities you live in during extreme conditions then a few rights will have to be modified for the greater good of the communities

For example, Gatherings of more then 10 people are not allowed. It could get worse. No more gatherings period. Will it be uncomfortable. Yes and no. Is it something you can live with. Yes it is. Will this affect free speech? I don’t believe so. freekeeners and other libertarians are just going to have to suck it up. There are changes coming. Those changes are to keep people safe and help control the virus spread. It is something you can live with. With the way the internet is, you can still have the people from your gatherings hook up in chat rooms, or party sites on the internet. So in that way, you aren’t really losing a right. It’s just been modified.

    “exercise your “forbidden rights”

I have never heard of that. Enlighten me.

  24. please help joe brown, he’s been punished enough
please vote to reelect high highness prince excellency head of chimp 3rd world republic horable excellency lebanese sununu

frame his excllency picture and hang it above ur bedboard, good luck will come to your home

  25. @jumping jacks Could you please offer your definition of what a “right” is and how it differs from a “revocable privilege” ?

For instance could a serf in New Hampshire tape over / obscure the State motto “live free or die” on their car’s license plate now if their religious convictions or right of conscience tells them to stop subjecting their property to so much embarrassment by what is clearly an obvious lie? Would that be an example of “free speech” ?

Should cars be forced to wear a “collar of shame” ? If your cars feelings are hurt do you think the government will come up with some kind of program where your embarrassed car can get some psychological help and maybe a couple grand of the monopoly money they’ll be throwing into the crowd soon? If you were allowed to have a flying car, could you qualify for some of that airline “free money” too ? So many things to ponder.

Speaking of religious conviction, if a group of people try to exercise their right of religion by attending a church service (all of them accept any real or imagined virus issues) should they be convicted of a crime, burned at the stake or what ?

Do individual people have a right to refuse any magic vaccinations that may come along ? Off to the salt mines for those who don’t go along or should they be water boarded into submission “for their own good” ?

Are four legs good, but two legs better?

Do you know of ANY cops, oath keepers (“oath sleepers”) who are making plans to arrest Governors or Mayors who are blatantly preventing people from exercising their rights or are those cops all playing 3 level chess and waiting for “the right time” to secure our freedoms? Should we be trusting their wisdom and thanking them for their service ?

Am I overreacting and should I just head down to a State run liquor store, (still open!) grab a bottle and go home and wait
    this pestilence out?

  26. Bob C – ” Could you please offer your definition of what a “right” is and how it differs from a “revocable privilege” ?

A “Right” is a permission to do something an entitlement to a specific service or treatment. from others. Rights may allow or require inaction.

A “revocable privilege” means they can be changed.

I believe the best way to define the two is The 2nd amendment. You have the right to own and bare arms. Unfortunately it comes with “revocable rights.” Example, Those rights can be revoked if you are a felon or have a mental disability, government councils can revoke firing your weapon in a city. etc… I hope that answers your questions.

“Should cars be forced to wear a “collar of shame” ? I don’t know exactly what you are asking.

” if a group of people try to exercise their right of religion by attending a church service (all of them accept any real or imagined virus issues) should they be convicted of a crime, burned at the stake or what” ?

Burning people at the stake went out of fashion over four hundred years ago.

You have the right to religion. You can attend or partake in any service under any specific religion. the only time it becomes a problem is when the church practices human sacrifice, or the use of illegal or dangerous drugs. Of course, any religion can become “radical” and those types of practices of hurting others, destroying infrastructures, and genocide are not part of the right to practice that type of religion. In other words, “revocable rights”

“Do individual people have a right to refuse any magic vaccinations that may come along” ? There is no such thing as “magic vaccinations”. This still remains somewhat of a hot topic in America. I don’t believe you have the right to refuse vaccinations such s MMR, Hepatitis, Polio,DTap. or small pox. Those are diseases that have been proven to cause pandemics and kill millions at a time and can be controlled with a vaccination. Livestock that are sold on the open market icluding chickens, ducks, farmed fish, etc… Are required to have those vaccinations so as not to introduce any of those virus’s into the beef supply etc…

Vaccinations you can refuse but are helpful are Pneumococcal, Rabies, Rotavirus, HPV, and so on.

“Are four legs good, but two legs better”?

Wasn’t that from Orwell? Something to do with how the elite class abuses language to control the lower classes and so on. I’m not that deep into it.

“Do you know of ANY cops, oath keepers (“oath sleepers”) who are making plans to arrest Governors or Mayors who are blatantly preventing people from exercising their rights”

My daughter is a police officer. She just gradate from the academy. At this time, no I can’t say I know of any.

” Should we be trusting their wisdom (police officers) and thanking them for their service” ?

I believe “wisdom” is subjective and based upon experience. If my grandparents were alive, I would ask them for their wisdom but not an 18 year old who isn’t gone through much of life.

Yes, we should be thanking them for what they do. Unfortunately there will always be a few bad cops. just like in any profession there are bad people. It’s unfortunate that the media latches on to those stories and run with them without knowing all the facts. So people start to believe that all cops are bad which isn’t true.

The police become a target for peoples frustrations and anger. Activists think these officers should arrest those who these activists believe or responsible for societies ill will. Just because an officer doesn’t do that, they begin calling them derogatory names with confrontations, and behavior that is so disrespectful.

I hear the freekeeners and other activists play Monday morning armchair quarterbacks about police officers but they do nothing about it. They don’t go on a ride along or become police officers themselves to prove their side. Instead they break the law and when arrested, they blame the police. Police officers have discretion but that is limited based upon the situation. Activists who harass police officers are just looking for some limelight and attention. How breaking the law will change anything is beyond me. You just proved that particular is needed. Police officers are also human. No one meets a police officer on a good day especially when you break the law.

“Am I overreacting and should I just head down to a State run liquor store, (still open!) grab a bottle and go home and wait
    this pestilence out”?

What ever floats your boat. Just be sure you are drinking for the right reasons.

I hope I answered all your questions.

Thank you for your polite response. Not sure if we’re on the same page though.

There is a big distinction between “rights” and revocable privileges. When rights are “modified” without the explicit consent of the individual rights holder, that’s the definition of a rights violation. Many people confuse the two terms, “rights” and “privileges”, most often in the context of using “government speak”.

Logically, rights either come from government or they don’t. They don’t, if we apply simple logic.

If they come from government and didn’t exist prior to government, are you saying people who don’t “belong” to a particular government don’t have any and couldn’t have any rights?

If government is “just people” where did those special government people acquire rights from if no individual(s) had rights to begin with to delegate to form a government? That would be adding up a big ass pile of zeroes and claiming to come up with a positive sum. I don’t think rights come from government. The logic and simple mathematical evidence clearly shows they can’t.

Also, it is impossible to delegate a right you don’t have. For instance if I don’t have the right to direct your actions as long as you aren’t trying to direct my actions, I couldn’t take that nonexistent right and combine it with all of my neighbors nonexistent right and somehow aggregate and then delegate that nonexistent right to other people who claim special powers, ie “government”. The sum of thousand zeroes is still zero.

If you disagree with my analysis, please explain how you can delegate a nonexistent right

Sorry to hear your daughter has chosen to be a Police Officer. She’s chosen to try to do an impossible job, be a rights violator and also a “protector” at the same time.

Police don’t protect rights as their primary job. Sometimes they inadvertently protect people, but first they must threaten
them to acquire the funding to “protect them”. This is clearly evidenced by the nature of the relationship, which isn’t a voluntary hire situation. It is an involuntary hire, “pay me or else…so I can “protect you”. Logical fail.

Yes, Police officers are human, but in most cases they agree to enforce all laws and even the laws which violate rights. Therefore Police Officers primary actions aren’t acts which protect rights, instead there actions are to enforce laws, many of which violate rights. From the onset actions which begin with a threat (pay me or else) can’t possibly be aligned with a protective role as people have been purposefully led to believe. Voluntary hire versus involuntary hire is the self evident proof of that argument.

Also, there is no Easter Bunny, just saying.
