Stay-at-Home Order Effective 11:59pm Tonight – Libertarians to Meet at Central Square at 12:01am

Mayoral Candidate Nobody and City Council Candidates Ian Freeman and Robert Call toke up at Central Square in 2019.

Yesterday, New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu announced that a “stay-at-home” order would be going into effect at 11:59pm tonight. As though he hadn’t already damaged New Hampshire businesses and economy with his previous tyrannical orders, this one instructs all “non-essential” businesses to close, putting even more people out of work.

Sununu claimed on his facebook post announcing the “order” that disrupting Granite Stater’s daily lives is only done in the greatest of emergencies. Really? This Coronavirus thing isn’t even as bad as the flu yet – even if you go by the government numbers, which of course are in no way trustworthy.

What is happening is government goons are grabbing power as quickly and as firmly as they can, and they are using fear to do it. It’s the same old scam, but this time they are going farther than ever. Though Sununu hasn’t gone as far or as hard as New York, he’s made it clear that “Live Free or Die” is just an empty slogan. Sadly, the fearmongering works, and many people are begging to be told what to do under the auspices of safety.

Tonight, Keene-area libertarians will be commiserating and protesting our lost freedoms, by gathering in Central Square at 12:01am, after Sununu’s “order” goes into effect. We will be bringing back a classic event from about a decade ago called “Keene Nightcap”, where participants are encouraged to bring a mind-altering substance to enjoy in the company of others.

Though Sununu doesn’t deserve much credit for his tyrannical moves, at least there are a couple of loopholes in the stay-at-home “order”, which may actually make such a gathering allowed, so long as people practice so-called “social distancing”. That said, it sure would be outrageous for police to arrest people who voluntarily choose to hug each other. If you’re not scared, come on out and join us tonight at midnight!

  1. You ppl are dumb as rocks what a bunch of morons

  2. Another very poor idea from freekeeners lead by a narcissistic Ian Bernard. Why is it so important for you to go outside at 12:01? Aren’t you usually in bed by then? What is so important to risk people’s health by doing this? This helps take some of the load off of the police officers who are out there everyday and night. It also helps minimize exposure to those who are in the service industry. So you will be outside but there will be nothing for you to eat or drink unless you bring it from home.

To be honest, these laws and restrictions are out there to help everyone. Unfortunately you don’t care about the community you live in or the people who call themselves your neighbors you would rather go out, risk exposure not only to yourselves but to the families and friends you could potential bring the virus to.

“What is happening is government goons are grabbing power as quickly and as firmly as they can, and they are using fear to do it. It’s the same old scam, but this time they are going farther than ever”.

You couldn’t be anymore wrong if you tried. Your self paranoia and brainwashing has you convinced the government is out to get you and they will take everything away from you. This isn’t just about you. This is for everyone.

As far as I know there are no real consequences for your little gathering except the potential exposure to covd-19. Who knows, maybe if you get it that will put the freekeners on the sideline for a while. Most of you have drug and alcohol problems not to mention you smoke so the covid-19 virus will hit you the hardest in terms of morbidity rates. That will shut down freekeene for a long while. Also, there just might e those out there that could blame you for spreading the virus. They may want to take justice in their own hands.

There are multiple concessions and laws that allow the governor to set these limitations on gatherings and shutting down of nonessential business. So your gathering means nothing politically.

  3. 12:01.., you need more than 3 people… No one’s gonna care…I don’t wanna be a wet blanket

  4. Several have already indicated they intend to be there.

  5. ? Dum, dum, dum, dum, dum! ?

  6. Wonder if the liquor stores are still open?

  7. This is about the most dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. Of all things to protest the government over, for fuck’s sake.

  8. So are these executive orders just suggestions or will people who try to go outside and rake their lawn or plant a garden for food, be arrested and / or killed if they don’t genuflect fast enough?

I mean it’s still the live free or die state right? Cuz muh license plate says that and it’s never lied to me before.

  9. “whereas building 7 was brought down by the Corona Virus”

  10. Have fun at your little circle jerk, you selfish pricks.

  11. Be sure to lick some doorknobs and public toilet seats.

  12. A Baptist church in Louisiana ignored limiting parishioners at a service. 80 people sowed up, now 65 of those who attended have corona virus.

  13. rather then your local community by organising alternative ‘market solutions’ to feed and shelter the most vulnerable so the most vulnerable don’t have to rely upon any provision provided by the big bad evil tyrannical government you guys are just being inconsiderate assholes

  14. Shoot ‘em

  15. “To be honest, these laws and restrictions are out there to help everyone.”

Yeah. Helping us right to the poorhouse. I can see why someone like you would be totally on board with that kind of shit.

“Unfortunately you don’t care about the community you live in or the people who call themselves your neighbors you would rather go out, risk exposure not only to yourselves but to the families and friends you could potential bring the virus to.”

Uh huh. That seems highly unlikely, shit-for-brains. Currently 0.02% of the US population is sick with this bug and 0.0004% have died from it. The odds are definitely in Ian’s favor, don’t you think?

“As far as I know there are no real consequences for your little gathering except the potential exposure to covd-19.”

Uh huh. Who are we to argue with a doctoral candidate, right Jumping Jacks?

“Who knows, maybe if you get it that will put the freekeners (sic) on the sideline for a while.”

Mmm hmm. Here’s for wishful thinking. Hey, do you think your wife thinks about you when she’s fucking your neighbor’s uncle? You seem like a fag to me, so I’m guessing no.

  16. “A Baptist church in Louisiana ignored limiting parishioners at a service. 80 people sowed up, now 65 of those who attended have corona virus.”

Yeah. I heard that story too. Only it was a little different. What I heard was that 80 hobos banged your wife and 65 of them got the clap. Weird how rumors change depending on who tells it, eh Jumping jacks?

  17. ‘Sununu doesn’t deserve much credit for his tryannical moves’

Ian the dumbass can’t even spell ‘tyrannical’ let alone know what it truly means

  18. Thanks for catching the mistake, but not for being so rude. Fixed

  19. Hmm, I wonder what is more destructive to an economy; the spread of an infectious disease, or a stay at home order where essential businesses are still open (the list is longer than you think?) This just adds to another long list of public embarrassments for a bunch of weebs who couldn’t understand half the words in a propublica article. Your liberties aren’t even being stripped, you think we’re under marshall law and under the guise of the mainstream media by fearing COVID-19. You’re all dumb assholes for thinking that and you deserve to get the virus. This isn’t the common flu this is much more infectious and much more lethal and if you read a real news source you’d understand that.

Your stubborn and frankly stupid attacks on the media are irritating. I’m genuinely interested in the sort of crack pot crazy shit you guys read. This isn’t coming from someone who watches TV news all day, this is coming from someone who reads independently owned newspapers. No where can I find someone as I’ll informed as you guys, except maybe on Reddit. The threat of this virus is real, that is information that isn’t even coming from a newspaper but rather FUCKING DOCTORS, which I know you assholes aren’t.

The fact of the matter is you occupy a dead ideology and are choosing to flaunt it in a way that doesn’t help revive it. It’s impossible to see the light in your argument because its just that dumb. It can’t be dangerous because not many people have died, is some of the dumbest logic ever used. You guys should just stay at home and smoke your trash weed and beat off to your Adam Smith posters. Stop endangering my city and stop being such raging assholes everytime our democracy attempts to function.

  20. You think this isnt real…? You are all medical professionals now…? Your a bunch of fkn idiots. Stay home. Talk to to the doctors and the nurses fighting this thing everyday on the front lines not the government. You should be arrested and prosecuted for posting this garbage. If this virus didnt infect idiots then you would be immune.

    Darren Bessette Troy NH.

  21. You Guys Suck-“It can’t be dangerous because not many people have died, is some of the dumbest logic ever used.”

Hmm. The fact that not many people have died is very logical reason not to panic. What’s assholish is your notion that we shouldn’t be skeptical of any emergency policy designed to placate the irrational fears of drama queens like yourself.

  22. These people are stupid and if you think it’s ok to go around hugging everyone you should be arrested for putting people at risk.

  23. Darren Bessette.

There are no experts running things, Darren. There are only self-absorbed opportunists trying to keep you scared of the unknown. Thanks a bunch for offering no resistance to them.

  24. So much for “The Party of Reason”….

  25. Currently 0.02% of the US population is sick with this bug and 0.0004% have died from it. Seems pretty unreasonable to be advocating for a government policy that could render a quarter of the population bankrupt, don’t you think Nichael?

  26. Jessie Crosby-“These people are stupid and if you think it’s ok to go around hugging everyone you should be arrested for putting people at risk.”

If you and everyone like you is staying home like you’ve been commanded, then a few-naysayers in Central Square should be nothing for you to worry about, right Jessie?

  27. Yeah, maybe you guys aren’t getting it. This kind of moronic stuff is why I no longer give money to the party. You’re acting more like liberals than libertarians. Pick your battles. FYI, this is one that you prove that we do believe in law and order, not complete anarchy. This is one of the things as a libertarian. I would defend myself against you by all means necessary. Because this threatens my life as person who at some point will have to get food for their family.

  28. Wow, your mom really did raise an idiot. This virus spreads faster than the flu. It’s about stopping the spread – so it doesn’t kill as many people as the flu. This is about protecting your fellow man. You just perfectly proved what a me, me, me society we live in, congrats!

  29. It would appear that “Wiggles” doesn’t have a particularly good understanding of the relevance of the term “currently”.

  30. > If you and everyone like you is staying home like
    > you’ve been commanded, then a few-naysayers
    > in Central Square should be nothing for you to worry
    > about, right Jessie?

Except for the resources they will divert from their less selfish neighbor’s when their idiocy ends up with their needing hospitalization. Or the innocent bystanders they will be more infect to when even they inevitably need to go to the store or gas station.

But to be fair, I think they should look on this as an excellent opportunity.

They can now prove their commitment to their philosophy by swearing to stay secluded in Central Square until all evidence of the pandemic has passed; and, more importantly, committing to not accepting any medical treatment for any consequences from their “principled stand”.

  31. “It would appear that “Wiggles” doesn’t have a particularly good understanding of the relevance of the term “currently”.”

cur·rent·ly (adv) at the present time.

Hmm. “Currently” still seems pretty relevant.

But I get what you’re saying, Nichael. We all just need to get with the program and fall in line because super-smart guys like Neil Ferguson can predict the future. Or can they?

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/2020/03/26/scientist_whose_model_predicted_doomsday_backtracks_505882.html

  32. Good for you, Nichael. So while you’re scoring virtue-signaling points here for the admiration of your friends in the outrage mob, the rest of us can enjoy ourselves in Central Square knowing the chances of us getting sick are next to zero. You do you. We’ll do us. What do think? Does that sound like a plan, Nichael?

  33. > “Does that sound like a plan?”

    Sounds great. Darwinianism in action.

(Given that the tone of most of the posts by the You’re-Not-The-Boss-Of-Me crowd is pretty anti-fact [let alone science] I realize that it’s likely that they won’t get the reference to Darwin. But don’t you worry about it. All will be well. Enjoy your time on the square!)

  34. Natural selection doesn’t produce perfection, Nichael. Nor does it guarantee survival. It simply selects variation. The relative harshness of the environment takes care of the rest.

Take us, for instance. I can intelligently manage risks for myself. And I know when I’m being misled. Others (like you) believe everything they’re told, and always feel the need to be subject to the threat of force to guide their decisions. Which one of us do you think is better equipped to traverse the unknown?

  35. “I can intelligently manage risks for myself” he says, as he demonstrates his lack of mathematical reasoning beyond the 8th grade level and doesn’t understand exponential growth curves.

You’re not traversing the unknown. You’re just an example of natural selection in action. I can’t think of a bigger demonstration of idiocy than answering a global pandemic, an issue that is further upset by social individualism, …with more individualism.

  36. There are over a hundred thousand cases of corona in the US. And only a small fraction of people have died from it. That ought to be the primary thing of interest to you, Adolf, assuming you aren’t retarded. A body count is the only way to determine whether corona produces a lethal risk or just a generally infectious one. Most intelligent people don’t view getting the flu as being much of a risk for that very reason. And that’s why many of us feel the same way about the risk of corona.

Couple that to the relatively higher risk of death due to bankruptcy because government has forbidden us to work and you should understand my position better. Again, assuming you’re not retarded, Adolf.

  37. It is hard to take you seriously when you try to act condescending and self-confident when you fail to consider what happens to the US healthcare system if we continue to permit the free movement of individuals and the rapid exponential spread of a contagious virus, which has proven to have very lethal consequences for the elderly, and for individuals with preexisting health conditions.

There are just over 900,000 hospital beds in the continental US. As of 2016, the population of US adults above 60 is approximately 58 million, and the estimated number of adults across all age groups with existing health complications is between 50-114 million. Currently, we are at 120,000 infections. Just over three days ago, we were at half that figure, and three more days ago, half of that. If think this virus is just a flu, then I’m as confident as you are in yourself, that between the two of us, I’m not the retarded one.

  38. Corona is just a flu bug, Adolf. With one major difference: it’s killed fewer people this year than the flu has – and by a long shot. Every year in the US the flu infects over 40 million people, hospitalizes over half-a-million, and kills over 50,000. Yet no one’s ever once talked about locking up the entire country every flu season over it.

Apparently you’re unable to understand the distinction between people getting sick and people getting dead. Who’s the retarded one again, Adolf?

  39. You are all fucking assholes and deny science. I hope you and your loved ones catch this and die horrible deaths. Just do what you’re told. There is. Reason why no one has a libertarian government, becaaue you are Al heartless dickwads. Fuck you, hope your mother’s and grandmother’s die.

  40. Curious how you’re attesting your moral superiority over all of us “heartless dickwads” by mixing in a wish for all of us to die horribly, isn’t it Jae?

  41. >Who’s the retarded one again, Adolf?

You are, because you don’t understand statistics, you don’t understand virology, and you’re on here making factually incorrect and misleading statements beginning with that first statement that “corona is just a flu bug.” An influenza virus is not a coronavirus. They belong to two completely separate families of viruses, and behave differently, and if you’re wanting to compare casualty statistics, SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) has a 5% mortality rate among total cases and a 16% mortality rate among closed cases. Therefore, even by conservative estimates, it is 7 to 10x deadlier than the common flu, has a much higher rate of hospitalization than the common flu, and if allowed to infect a significant portion of the population, WILL fill hospital beds to total capacity and outright crash the US healthcare system. If that happens, the mortality rate will be even higher than 5% since citizens will not have access to healthcare or any treatment options and will be left to fend for themselves.

It is meaningless for you to imply I’m retarded when you are clearly blinded by your myopism and cannot think farther than your nose.

  42. Why do people post such long posts!?.. I guess someone reads them..

  43. Hmm. Fever, cough, fatigue, and shortness of breath? Looks like a flu bug to me, whatever family of viruses happens to cause it.

And you are retarded if you think that mortality rates are equivalent to mortality numbers, Adolf. NH has 214 cases and 2 deaths so far. Not much of a body count, is it? Certainly not enough to justify the kind of lockdown NH’s governor has put in place. Look at NY. That state has 240 times the number of cases NH has and even NY’s governor is reconsidering his response to this. And he’s an inflexible loon just like your namesake was.

  44. Sounds like some commenters here need a hug. Sheesh ??

  45. Sounds like some commenters here need a hug. Sheesh ??

  46. >And you are retarded if you think that mortality rates are equivalent to mortality numbers, Adolf. NH has 214 cases and 2 deaths so far. Not much of a body count, is it?

Imagine strawgrasping this hard. I guess some idiots need to learn the hard way then, and maybe they will sing a different tune when they wake up and all of our public health infrastructure is crashed because they wanted to wait until there’s bodies all over the place and we need to start incinerating human carcasses like they did in China.

Just remember, Wiggles. Libertarians are hardly the only ones with guns, and when our health system crashes and our parents and grandparents die a death that could have been easily prevented by lockdown and quarantine measures, we will remember who it was who demanded we sacrifice our families to keep the country open because they value their private liberties and stock market figures over the health and well being of the public body as a whole.

  47. Aw liberty lovers aren’t all that bad are they, Zyklon? Come on, can we turn off Fox Snooze for a while and have some nice hugging action? Maybe it will ease some homicidal tendencies 🙂

  48. Wow, Adolf. Zero to murder in just two paragraphs? I think that namesake of yours is getting to your head.

  49. Wow, Adolf. Zero to murder fantasies in just two paragraphs? I think that namesake of yours is getting to your head.

  50. It might be stupid that suicide is illegal, but I’m not about to shoot myself in the head to protest.
